Maskquerade, Realm of the Rubixy

[The Warden]

~Masks, people wear them for humour, people wear them to disguise themselves. There are even those metaphorical masks that people can't really see. In the world of Rethnecia, there are certain masks with hidden powers. However, most normal beings in this world cannot access these powers (typically), but, there are few who can. In almost every race there is a rare mutation, resulting in a Rubixy, those that can use these powers. Obviously there is a reason for needing these powers, and that come in the form of the Daemons and their genetically altered warriors called NEOs (Negative Energy Overlords) that can also use the mask powers. There is one in particular, the NEO Vengus. His goal is to locate the fractions of the legendary Mask of Time, the Rubixy must obtain the mask before he does, by working together and with their races whilst Overlord Vengus possesses many NEO and Daemon allies. Locating the shards will be tough, Kethnecia is a big place, where will you start first?~

The Rubixy are born into races with by a genetic anomaly, they differ in looks and power to those of the same race. It is difficult to understand why the anamoly occurs. From birth, a Rubixy is tattooed with a special mark unique to each race. A Human Rubixy is given a tattoo on their right eye. A Stagnus Rubixy have their markings painted with gold instead of black. A Ferenus Rubixy have an eye painted onto their left hand. A Gloster Rubixy have markings and symbols etched onto their horns, they are rarer than the other races.

 

NEOs are genetically altered Daemon's that possess the DNA of a Rubixy, allowing them to use the mask powers. They differ from regular Daemons as they are less feral and are more like which race they obtained their DNA from. Vengus possess Gloster DNA, making him more powerful than other NEOs.

These are the Races choosable:

Human: Typically mandatory for almost any world, they populate most of Rethnecia, in large towns to small villages. Their Rubixy have white hair a marking on their right eye; they tend to be more intelligent and magic based than other humans, but prefer not to fight unless they need too. The main Human city is F'Dgar (Fi-Yad-Gar), which is located to the south-east of Kethnecia. They are generally untrusting of the other races and specifically not the Stagunus. Humans produce the most Rubixy. They fight using mostly swords, bows and other conventional weapons. Only their military allow the use of guns. Human Rubixy do not enter the military as soldiers and detest the use of guns.

 

Stagnus: Nocturnal humanoid bat creatures. Physcially they are thin creatures with large clawed hands and feet. heir faces are regarded fierce due to their bat like appearance. They are weak to sunlight and primarily live in the large mountain ranges to the west of Kethnecia. Their fur is either black, brown, or in between. Their wings can fold into their arms or stretch out. They are painted from birth with black markings, which dictate their name. Their Rubixy have pure white fur and can live in sunlight. Thier wing markings are gold. Stagnus and Humans do not usually get along due to certain disputes over stolen live stock in the night. Stagnus Rubixy are very uncommon. Stagnus fight in hit and run attacks to outwit their foe. Stagnus fight with stone and mineral weapons, such as stone daggers. Their claws and fangs are used as well.

 

Ferenus: Odd beings, they are a symbiosis of animal and plants. They are called Dryads by the other races to safeguard their race's name. Their body is composed of animal cells but are greyish borwn in colour. Their 'hair' is composed of plant matter, allowing them to photosynthesize. Due to being able to process food and respire, they can create a consistant natural cycle of synthesis and respiring, meaning they rarely eat or drink. They are tall creatures and the males are more well built. Their Rubixy have amber hair and are well built, whatever their gender. Ferenus are forest dwellers, and most of them have villages in the Lygase Forest near the centre of Kethnecia. Ferenus enjoy physical fighting the most, as they can continue fighting with tiring for a good amount of time. Their weapons are usually wooden or stone, this includes bows, ivy whips and the ever useful club.

 

Gloster: Not typically the nicest of beings. They live in the wastelands of Kethnecia. They're bull like in apperance and built the same way. They live in tribes and their leaders are those who survive many battles. Some are nomadic if their region is resource defficient. Their Rubixy are smaller than others of their race, and typically become the 'medicine man or woman' due to each tribe possessing a mask that allows for healing. Most of their Rubixy are well treated but some die early, to weed out the weak. The Gloster are the only known races to produce twin Rubixy. They use spears, bows, swords and clubs.

 

Daemons: Literally bottom of the barrel, they live in the Underworlds of Kethnecia. Daemons cannot naturally produce Rubixy for unknown reasons and therefore hate the other races for being able to do so. Lesser daemons are shadowy creatures that are considered feral. Recently they have been able to almost perfect their NEOs, which they intend to use to take the Overworld for themselves and force the other races into the world they were put into. Their NEOs take on the characteristics of whateer race they got their Rubixy DNA from. NEOs fight using swords, spears, tridents or staves. Normal Daemons use claws and teeth.

Many masks in the world are useless to Rubixy, however, Gloster Rubixy can use their powers to locate masks with power. The most powerful mask is the Mask of Time, which can alter the flow of time to the user's whim. A Mask can appear at any time in any place, so keep an eye out. How can you tell a mask possesses power? Masks with power can mold themselves into the shape of their users face, allowing any Rubixy or NEO to use them.

Appearance: He stands at 6'3, and his fur is a very pale white, almsot greyish. He keeps a stern look on his face. His wings extend to about 2 metres in length, allowing him to fly for short durations of time. He wears simple fur clothes, which include a fur vest and pants. He doesn't wear shoes, but his claws are well kept.

Weapon: Obsidian Staff

Mask: Twin Seed Mask - Allows the user to seperate into their good and evil sides. They fight together and can communicate via telepathy. They do not betray each other.

Specialty: Mage

Bio: A Stagnus Rubixy who inheried the Twin Seed Mask from the last Rubixy of his tribe. He was trained in the arts of a mage and can use darkness magic to assist him and his allies. He learned of NEO Vengus after easdropping on a pair of Human Soldiers, and voewed to stop him, along with any help he could.

Bio: Since he was young he always had swordfights with wooden swords, and he once defeated his father when he was 8, and after time he ran away, and he traveled a lot, but he's starts to settle down, and he stays at an orphanage now.
