Ah, where did the YCM I used to know go?

Once upon a time, back in the sterling silver age of the late-afternoon of YCM, the boards were full of glorious topics reminiscing about how much better the site used to be than it was at the current time. Now, however, such topics are few and far between. Oh, woe! Woe! O Judgment, thou art fled to brutish beasts, and men have lost their reason! Verily, the absence of these topics has left YCM a walking shadow, and this sorry decay is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing more than our old indifference to days that have been painted gold by hindsight.

" I remember, a long time ago. When the sky was still blue and good members and active mods roamed the inter-highway. Newbies were steered in the right direction and people were nice, decent members. Oh, how long ago it was."

YCM only "sucks" because you all obsess over how good you say it used to be.

Stop living in the past and go do something about it if you hate it here so much.

We'd love to, but unfortunately we can't FORCE you to leave, so I guess we can't do anything to make it better...

xD in all seriousness though, it's extremely difficult to do anything about it. There are far too many idiots on this site.

Sorry... Sacrificing one thing for the betterment of more people is a "bad" thing now. I'm a very "bad" boy.

Lawl, you missed the point of this topic completely. In fact, I'm guessing most of the people here did.

Hint: The opening post is reminiscing about how we... used to reminisce about something else. (Even though you guys still do all the time.)

Hint 2: Satire!

My post was directed at those people.

It was obvious that this thread wasn't serious.

Its called some of us grew up, and stopped acting like old people that can't shut up to save their lives. And say stuff like this:

"You kids these days. Back in my day, we didn't have all these pieces of cardboard. We had to entertain ourselves by shoveling coal and hunting down communists. We didn't have all these skater punks who would become shoplifters."

Okay.

... On a related note, you preferred it when I was wildly swinging the ban-hammer at you and you're GameFAQs counterparts when you all showed up at the start of last year...?

Yeah, me too.

I remember when games like save or slap always had someone playing.

good times

And you sir, you were repeatedly leaving and returning in 2007, so I doubt you remember much of it.

Well, with Sartorius and his "movement," Draco and his "movement," the GameFAQ's lolfest, and the people that saw the justice in such movements posting all the sh*t we posted (dupe accounts, the works), there really was a lot more to look forward to back then when you signed on the site. At this rate, I have to actually go out of my way to get members to dislike me (like that ~emo~ kid :) ) to actually enjoy posting here, lest I'm here to get some Deck/TCG advice.

I really do feel like those "good old days" belong to me more than they do to most people, save a few forgotten (Gist, Sartorius, Georgeyboy, Chaoserver, SOUL F-CKING IMMORTAL, KA Flame (we know you still lurk), Shaco, hell even cyberdude, the list goes on..) and worn out (Frunk, Azuh) names. Names in history fade fast when there's few left who remember them. I feel like Sart and I started the "movement" trend that played out so many times. (and you can ask NP Sage about all that) Also, props to Altair and Horus for being there all the way through, even though Altair was rising to greatness in the earliest stages of commotion. Props to Crab for coming in disliked by association, and transcending to perhaps being the most liked member of the site.

Also, "Trade Section" anyone?

I wasn't there when the Trade Section wen't down but I remember some threads to get it back though =\

I believe those days there was so much action and drama that wasn't half assed like the ones we hardly even witness now. Nowadays it's days slowly crawling by hardly with an exciting thread.

Might as well take every opportunity to start fire's, because it's overgrown with peace. I'm not going to lie to you, when I log onto this site, I want some sort of disturbance to make itself evident.

And you know what's funny? That entire "fix the mod's" argu-movement was to make the site run more peacefully and efficiently (through replacement); low and behold, it seems to do that now without having fallen in to the movement. Repercussion: the members nowadays are barely interesting, talking about things that aren't too important. Yeah, I could post more interesting topic's to talk about, but how many people are going to click on those when they're preferred topic just got a new reply? And f*ck posting more on Summa, sure, the members are better, but the place is dead outside of the shoutbox. Plus, Enloe's a prick and all of us know that. (you can tell him I said that too, if he takes it personally then.. well I don't have any words for how stupid it is to take something personally, especially over the internet)

There's a couple diamonds in the rough (here on YCM), but I guess we're veteran'd and more ignorant now than we used to be to new members.

Speaking of Sartorism, the chronicle chapter for it is almost done. Then I'm going to write Grammar War, then Card Trade if I can get my nose back in it (I think it's merely invisible).

Also, I thought about changing my name, but then somebody else will register it, and that's just not cool.

To date, no Sartorists have made the Mod Team. I think that means I won.
