PLOT SUMMERY

Television reporter Angela Vidal and her cameraman are assigned to spend the night shift with a Los Angeles Fire Station. After a routine 911 call takes them to a small apartment building, they find police officers already on the scene in response to blood curdling screams coming from one of the apartment units. They soon learn that a woman living in the building has been infected by something unknown. After a few of the residents are viciously attacked, they try to escape with the news crew in tow, only to find that the CDC has quarantined the building. Phones, internet, televisions and cell phone access have been cut-off, and officials are not relaying information to those locked inside. When the quarantine is finally lifted, the only evidence of what took place is the news crew’s videotape.

REVIEW:

I bought this movie because I expected to see another fast paced zombie movie....I was wrong. When I first noticed that the movie was first person it caught me a little off guard. The excitement gets going right away as when Angela and Scott tag along with the fire dept. to investigate a 911 call. Upon arriving everyone if the apartment is scared out of their minds. As the fire fighters and police officers go upstairs, they enter the room of the women who screamed bloody murder. They try to calm her but she attacks and rips a cops neck open. How delightful.

This movie differs from others because it is not a run-and-gun kinda movie. Guns are only used twice in this movie. It also is interesting that in fact the movie is not about zombies, but rabies. This single thing made me interested. I have never seen a movie revolve around rabies. It makes things all the more scary. Especially when the "infected" are foaming at the mouth.

The cast for this movie was exceptionable. Jennifer Carpenter was perfectly casted as Angela and the movie would not have the same feel without her. I did not know a lot of the cast members but I can say they made this very convincing. The fire fighters were also perfectly casted.

Okay, now for that bad. This movie sometimes goes off and gets boring. It is also to short. And I dunno why they made a 5 year old girl able to take down a police officer. The movie at times seems like it is not in first person view. This got me quite annoyed.

Despite all this its still one of my personal favorites. I think not all watch it though. You should at least be 14. This film is also not for the faint of heart or people who don't like seeing a dog get smashed to pieces. Animal lovers beware, lots of dead animals in this movie. Just kidding there are only three but they are still gory. So, any way this is my review on the great movie: Quarantine.

RATING

4 out of 5 stars.

REVIEW:

I was a little shocked to discover that when I went to go see this film. I expected this to be a little like DOOM3. Boy was I wrong. It was more like resident evil than anything. So I kinda liked this film. Would have loved it if it was not titled: DOOM, which its story is nothing like. So I will try to look beyond that.

DOOM, has some very good action scenes. My personal favorite is when John fights a Pinky Demon with a Chainsaw. But anyway, the action in here is very fast paste. Also, the weapon selection is nice. Generically everyone has a P-90 except destroyer and goat. Ie. Chain gun and Shotgun. The action can take off at random times as well.

The reason this is rated R is pretty obvious. LOTS of blood, gore, zombies, demons etc.. The zombies are usually eating people while having blood all over their cloths. Demons eat people and bite them, both very gory, And of course we cannot go 5 minutes without hearing, “WHAT THE funk WAS THAT!?!?” also, besides the rating this film has multiple nude scenes including when the camera zooms in on a girls butt then works its way up (she is nude) and then she spins around and tries to kill someone (she is also a zombie) then they shoot her. And it shows a close up of her with her breasts extremely visible and bullet holes in her head.

The special effects were awesome. The demons looked really cool. They were not to cgi to tell they were fake, it was just right. The BFG blast special effect was epic but it annoyed me that it was blue and the BFG fires a green blast. Also the most epic scene were was the movie turns into a FPS video game. Reaper walks around with a P-90 in FPS view and kills 75 things in 21 minutes. The CGI battle with pinky was also epic.

Well anyway DOOM was an okay movie. Enough action, enough nudity to keep you interested until it gets exiting (Girls are kinda ugly though IMO and they are zombies), and some kick ass lines. Also, the BFG, nuff’ said. This move is NOT for: Animal lovers (Animals get eaten by a demon in one scene before being shot by reaper. ) Sexiest people (Naked women and Portman’s constant horny remarks. ) anyone under 16, people who dislike movies with a lot of gore and liberals (Smart ass remarks by marines.) So thats my view on the movie doom.)
