"XBox 720" - 2011/2012

Well, it's official, Microsoft just recently trademarked the name "XBox Phoenix" which means that within the next few years (projected 2011 or 2012) a new Microsoft console will be coming out.

The code name used by Microsoft's workers is XBox 720, and of the features rumored to be integrated into the new system is an updated and more accurate version of their no-hands controller being heavily advertised now.

Overall, this seems like an exciting package.

Discuss.

The "no-hands" controller is a controller that uses a lazer and video system in the hardware itself to follow your movements and control the on-screen movements of the character. I've seen a demo if it (they have an upcoming add-on to the 360 for it) and it's pretty cool.

I hope they make it controller compatible though.

Some people just will laugh too hard with no-hands controller, seeing everybody mess up and their parents lame attempt at trying.

And I am very glad its not called the Xbox 720.

Can't wait to spend my money on this =D

So wait is it Phoenix or 720? If they've already trademarked a name why would they use a code name?

No-hands controller?

Wtf?

Are we paying to play with our feet now?

Oh' date=' and they better allow 360 games into the 720, because if no, its just plain stupid.

It's project Natal (the spelling is likely off since I'm to lazy to check). Their going to add to it to the 360, but since that won't be close to done till anywhere from late 2010 to mid 2011 why should they bother adding it to the 360 if the next gen system will have that plus more? Also it follows your body motion. Search for the E3 thread in video games, or just look on youtube for a vid.

If you can't play 360 games on it that would be such a failure on Microsoft's part it's kind of funny and really sad.

IMO this will come out late 2011 since it would be about 6 years after 360 came out (the gen before this also laster 6 years). Side from that what else is their to say since we're still 2 years way.

Also this should be in video games.

You guys suck (except from Flame Dragon).

I can't believe you haven't heard of Project Natal yet, which is a no-hands, motion-censored experience that Microsoft are releasing in 2010. Project Natal has been shown demos, and includes a sensor bar with an integrated camera and microphone. It's shown extraordinary and brilliant results, with everyone who has used it (including charlieissocoollike) coming back with positive reviews.

Furthermore, you people fail to read the first post. Let me remind you:

and of the features rumored to be integrated into the new system is an updated and more accurate version of their no-hands controller being heavily advertised now.

That's just one of the features.

ONE of the features' date=' and it's going to be a heavily improved version of Project Natal. The XBOX Phoenix is being rumoured to come out November 2010 from a few reliable sources.

I can tell now that the XBOX Phoenix is going to include:

-A "Project Natal" sensor bar.

-An XBOX Phoenix Controller.

-A wireless headset.

-More, as that's all I can think of will definitely be in it.

Microsoft have already confirmed that Project Natal isn't going to take away the hardcore gameplay elements of the XBOX 360, and that it will be an [i']optional[/i] choice. All they're saying with this is, that the XBOX Phoenix will rely MORE on "Project Natal" then the 360 will.

Features of the XBOX Phoenix will most likely include:

-Ability to run in full 1080p HD resolution, if not more by then.

--Improved graphics.

-Improved gameplay ability, including the ability to be more open to other game engines.

-Bigger disk space- so game developers aren't limited to how much they put on their games, like they are with the Wii, PS2, DS and PSP.

-Ability to run XBOX and XBOX 360 games.

~Brushfire, out.

Flame, you shouldn't really be comparing this console to Nintendo and Sony, as they have yet to trademark a name for their next gen console.

I dont know what to think. How can they make it better? Graphics? Gameplay? This is quite the Wii Rip-off.

If controllers are compatible' date=' yes. If 360 Games ae compatible, yes.

This. (The bolded.)

Sure. Just steal our sensors and add some super-duper hoopla, and add some applesauce and you have a next gen console (albeit the other inprovements).

I swear, there better not be a RRoD on this thing. That would (again) make the sales plummet.
