Do you really need a blu-ray player? :/

Putting blu-ray on a screen the size of a laptop's kind of defeats the purpose, imo.

Meh. Brands are brands. Who cares, as long as it works?

I'd go with HP because it's cheaper...unless your uncle can get you discounted stuff for your laptop.

Blu-Ray isn't meant for computers; if you're going to use it as a play while you're traveling, you're better off not.

The drive reading the disk will probably just drain the battery faster.

Bloatware you can just take off later; if you can save the money, an extra half hour to set up your computer isn't much.

The casing doesn't bother me much; you can always do your own customization to it.

Or you can just get a Mac and put Windows on it; proprietary hardware means an optimized system with greater reliability.

VirtualBox is free, too, you know, so you don't have to spend money on an emulator; I use it and it's wonderful.

I was gonna buy the HP but the Sony was SOOO beautiful I just had reconsider

BUT You can change teh keyboard ehh tea?

If you really cared for it' date=' I'm pretty sure you can.

What's wrong with a Mac keyboard anyway?

It's a very neat and simple arrangement.

tbh, the Mac's apple key baffles and angers me. Its like ctrl...only they still have ctrl. They just shifted functions to the apple key. For no reason. -___-

What the hell are you talking about?

OS X is an entirely different operating system, why shouldn't it use different keys?

Hell, Command + [key] makes more sense than Control + [key] ever will.

I just look in dpeth

Vaio technology is basically all soldered onto the motherboard so if even 1 thing breaks' date=' I need to get a new comp..

[/quote']

That is why you have a warranty, also a piece of your laptop breaking is very unlikely. Unless you play with your laptop or something to the point that it breaks.

Also a lot of parts are connected to the motherboard like processors, video cards those don't breakdown. You can replace the harddrive or the fan if they break.

Meh. I'd still probably go for the HP. You have more relevant pros for it (smaller/lighter' date=' larger HD, longer battery life). The majority of stuff you have for Sony is kind of extra (design choices, looking good...blu-ray)

[/quote']

100% true, and that's the choice you should make.

You can easily disable the HP programs that come with your laptop. It only takes five seconds.

Brand recognition means nothing. ASUS is one of the best laptop brands, but nobody really knows about them, and their laptops look terrible.

THERE IS NO RELATION BETWEEN SCHOOL/GRAPHICS AND BLU-RAY. WTF?

You don't need to worry about a processor speed if you're just doing those two things.

Who cares about the look of a laptop? As long as it's alright, it's fine. You can always just skin it yourself with stuff you buy off eBay or something.
