Strangers To Seraphs (Not Accepting) - Started! =D

~Setting~

Neo-Domino.

This RP takes place at a time before the 5Ds story. It's far enough forward that Satellite to exist, although it probably won't play much of a part in the RP. If there is a clash between Yugioh canon and the RP, RP wins, I don't wish to hurt the story to stick to canon.

~Plotline~

Tch, I wouldn't want to reveal too much of the plot before the first post, but of course, some backstory is needed here.

The Arcadia Movement is a strong figure within Neo-Domino. Many people see the group as a street gang of sorts, moves against its members are often responded to with ill fate and whispers pass word of underhanded deeds enacted by its members to further goals of the individuals within it. Their leader is rarely seen, but known to be a fairly young woman, her motives and plans within the Arcadia are unknown.

And like a city gang, there is a rival. "The Seraphs", as they call themselves, are a group of psychic duelists who's agenda is mostly unknown, they are considered suspicious by many, although no evidence of criminal activity has been brought against them. Their leader is well known, named Lonei, an ex-vicar who left his post to create the group. When asked why, he responds that it was, "an act against Arcadia, they are corrupting psychic duelists, 'training' them for nothing but becoming some sort of a militia, my group is a genuine help to these gifted individuals, teaching above all the importance of control and discipline so that they may be accepted into society while using their gift for good." Although he claims that this is his only true motive, very few accept it, preferring their own conspiracies.

The two groups have been known to clash often, areas of the town laid to waste when members of the opposing groups meet and take violence as the first cause of action. The public is furious over the attacks on property and law enforcement is having trouble finding a way to get payment for property damage from the duelists. Tension is high at this point, and members of both groups have been rumoured to be appearing, along side the current dueling king, at the Sky Cup Tournament, only a short time away.

In case it matters - The main focus of an RP will start at a train station, probably with one or two of your characters arriving, maybe even for the Tourney.

~PG Disclaimer~

Quite frankly, I'm going to ignore violence in this, if you're old enough to view this forum, a little description of someone getting their insides ripped out won't be bad enough to put you in trauma. I don't mind people having romance in here, just keep any actual sex or nudity out of my RP please. I'm not sure how to mark this, so I'll let you judge for yourself if something is appropriate to post and if you can handle a thread which might have a slight bit of gore thrown in at some point.

~Form~

PM these to me or throw them in the thread, either way works ^_^

Name:

Gender/Age:

Deck type:

Bio: (Make sure that it is clear if you are a psychic duelist. No-one will start the RP in either group, you will be normal citizens, with or without powers.)

Physical Description: (You can take the option and use a picture if you want, or just leave this blank and have it in your first IC post, whichever you like best)

Also, if you're using customs, send me the Name, Level, ATK, DEF and Effect of your Ace - do not include any image or my internet will crash and I will hate you.

There is a perfectly good chance you will not be accepted, I will include the reason why and you're completely allowed to re-send a fixed application.

~Accepted Forms~

I'm just going to be controlling NPCs as a whole, that's a lot of characters, some fairly major, such as the leaders of the groups, so I won't have a sheet myself.

bringerofcake:

Name: Demias Vicksmen

Gender/Age: 17

Deck type: Psychic

Bio: He was raised by a good natured, kind family in Satellite. His deck started when someone left an envelope containing Thought Ruler Archfiend on his doorstep. He then managed to collect enough cards to build a deck, and to his surprise, dueling came naturally to him. His prowess got him an invitation to the Sky Cup Tournament, long after he had built up his reputation. Though his powers haven't emerged yet, they will soon.

Physical Description: Weedy, with longish brown hair. Wears a sportcoat and dark pants. His duel disk is green and yellow.

Twilla:

Name: Dorian Adlam

Gender/Age: Male/36

Deck type: Faeries, not that he's going to duel

Bio: Dorian grew up in the Tops with his loving parents and younger brother. He learned Duel Monsters at a young age and used it to cope with stress throughout his teenage years. He went to Duel Academy, but when he graduated, Dorian could not land a career as a pro. For this reason he joined Security. Recently fellow officers told him about the Sky Cup. With haste he quit and joined not as a participant - but as the duel announcer, where he would at least get to comment on duels over a microphone. It's the second best thing, really.

Physical Description: Dorian does not have the big hair of your average Generic Announcer, his his soft blonde hair cut close to his head except in the back, but he does have a captivating voice. It has a Generic French Accent and is somewhat high-pitched, but not annoyingly so. As for the rest of him, it is rather unmemorable: Dorian is tall and slim, wearing button-down flannels over T-shirts and cargo pants. He hearts his penny loafers.

Name: Eden Ashford

Gender/Age: Female/27

Deck type:Ritual/Fusion hybrid deck

Bio: Eden lived a pretty average life before her ninth birthday... then she took up Duel Monsters and discovered her psychic power when she hurt her eldest sister with Hitonama. Seraph heard and Eden was quickly taught to control and appreciate her powers, though she still feel guilty about the accident. Still, it drives Eden to bring down the Arcadia Movement, preferrably without violence - she doesn't want anymore people to be hurt.

With this in mind she joined the Sky Cup with the intention of representing Seraph. Rumours about her great dueling skill and a Fusion-Ritual hybrid deck have been surfacing for a while - now those rumours will be put to the test.

Eden never gave professional dueling a thought, however - she finished high school early and spent five years in college studying art and literature. She currently makes a living as a novelist and free-lance artist.

Physical Description:IC

Name: Melissa Clark

Gender/Age: Female/13

Deck type: OMG SECRET DECK Oo

Bio: Melissa is from a small family in the Tops. Her parents divorced when she was two and her mother raised Melissa and her twin sister by herself for several years. Then a pro duelist came along and married her, and Melissa became an enthusiastic duelist. She even started a Duel Club for afternoons when she wasn't typing away at a computer, churning out poems. Her aspirations are to become a professional duelist with an insane sleep schedule, who drinks more coffee than is healthy and scribbles poems on napkins at restaurants; accomplish word peace; and ride a pony to work.

Physical Description: IC

BrokenHeart15:

Name: Bruce Ausbourne

Gender/Age: M, 19

Deck type: Australasia Beast (Custom type)

Bio: It was unknown that he had psychic powers till he was in year 12. After hurting a student in a duel, a new world opened before him, including being forced to repeat the twelth grade. To escape this he signed up for an exchange program and managed to tweak it so he would stay there. He was sent to Neo-Domino City and managed to get a small apartment in Satelite and a job to support himself. In some cases he duels for money or uses his monsters to get it for him.

Physical Description: Take the appearance of a sterotypical Australian, then throw it out the window you sterotyper. Bruce wears a simple dark grey long-sleeved hsirt and a furred vest over it. He wears a pair of long denim jeans and sneakers. Despite not trying to be sterotypical, he wears his favourtie akubra hat most of the time. His skin is tanned from working in the harsh Australian sun and his hair is dark brown and medium length, almost pushing a mullet. His height is around 184 cm and he is fit enough for most things. His eyes are undistinctive, being plain blue in colour.

Ace Card: Australasia Beast - Rainbow Serpent

shadowferret:

Name: Solez Yarin

Gender/Age: Male/17

Deck type: Toons

Bio: A boy who has enjoyed dueling since the age of 12. He fell in love with "Toon World" almost immediately. He loves books, and hates to see anyone who is sad. His past is that of a normal child. The only differences would be that he grew up as an only child, and he learned his dueling skills on the streets, being a rather poor child. Over the years he has collected each and every card in his deck, and possesses no Synchro monsters of his own.

Physical Description: Tall, about 5'11". He has short black hair and silver framed glasses. His dark skin resembles that of a Hispanic, and he has a smile that is rarely seen, but can cheer up almost anybody. He is usually seen wearing tye-dye clothing.

Darkdust Dragon:

Name: Kyojo Kyukishi

Gender: Male

Age: 16

Deck type: Dragon Beatdown

Bio: A man who grew up in the slums of Satellite, at age 10 he discovered his ability to manifest Cards and effects as reality. He is a good man, confident but honorable, and he treats all opponents as equals. A strong duelist, he has never lost a match to anyone he has faced, though he looks for someone who can surpass him.

Physical Description: 6' tall, medium build, dyed red and orange hair, almost always wears biker attire and sunglasses.

Ace Card: Trident Dragion/Five-Headed Dragon

Designation_Leader:

Name: Kevin "Kaze" Reginald Anderson XIV

Gender/Age: Male/15

Deck type: Ninja Deck (custom)

Bio: Kevin Reginald Anderson XIV was born into the wealthy Anderson family of Duelists, known for having participating--and winning--in the most prestigious of Duels. He has lived in Neo Domino all of his life, often being taunted for his rich status. As a kid, Kevin learned he had a knack for Dueling, beating his father Kevin Reginald XIII at the age of 5 using a Deck constructed of his brother's old cards. Seeing his son's uncanny talent, Kevin's father enrolled him in the Neo Domino School for Gifted Duelists. Kevin was quickly spotted as a top contender for the school championship at his age, but declined to participate in the Duels until he was 12.

When he participated in the school championship, he noticed that his cards could...talk to him. Striking this as weird, he didn't take notice to it until the card's began to materialize themselves in front of them. Since then, Kevin has secluded himself from his friends, working to better his Duel skills. His father is fully aware of his ability and has asked Kevin to control it. Kevin is closest with his father of all his family members.

Physical Description: Here is Kevin's appearance.

Alordzynix

Name: Tom Hisai Ijime (Hisai Ijime is apanese for "Be a victim of Bullying" or something like that)

Gender/Age: Male 21

Deck type: Fish Hunters / Denbou (Both Custom)

Bio: Tom used to live in a little town at the seacost. He and his parent's wheren't originally from there and people could see that and because his classmates could see that he was different they picked on him. At first it was just calling names but later it was beating it up. One day Tom didn't pick it any longer and he challenged "the leader" of the bullies, Jake, to a duel, and Tom won and turned the tables. He realised he could make him self bigger, that he could gain power, by humiliating Jake with his lost. Now Tom was the bully, and he has bin that ever since. He wins most of his duels easy by physically and fiscally (I hope I spelled that right) bullying his opponent but he is a very skilled duelist, he is just to scared to duel a real duel.

Physical Description: He has short red hair similar to the stereotype army hair and green eyes.

And other than those bits, feel free to ask questions in this thread, it stops me having to bump it anyway! :3

I asked that no-one started in either group, although it's fine to be psychic.

Ok, that's two people in (Twilla, as always, has three characters), and Darkdust once he re-writes that without being in a group.

Ok, the sheet looks good but I looked back at some of your other posts in the RP section and they seem a bit short. I'd be glad to accept the sheet but if you're going to RP here then I'd ask that you try and keep your posts at least following the 4-sentence rule, and generally around 4 lines long, things can get very dull if you don't keep some reasonable post length.

I know you checked my 'record'. You weren't very subtle about it. More to the fact that whilst I go with the Advanced clause, why they demand quality and quantity is beyond me. Some posts are needlessly padded. I am an active poster, until I can see an RP is dead, then I move on. But you forget, long posts also get boring, especially when needlessly padded as said before.

I wasn't trying to be subtle, I just checked a few posts, like I do with everyone. Your RPing is by no means bad, if it was, I would have instantly rejected it. I don't want you 'needlessly' padding posts and definitely not making them long enough to be boring, I just like posts to have a bit of emotion of feeling to them rather than doing nothing but stating what someone said.

I use all of that in my writing, but I am certain you're reading my ace by now no? Shame you can't see the picture, it is rather nice. I wanted to model its effect on some other monsters, like the summoning condition is JD or RD. The effect was just there because I couldn't think of anything better.

OOC: Fixed

IC:

The Summer had just ended and while it was still a bright morning with the sun in the sky, a bitter breeze blew through the city of Neo-Domino. The sharp outlines of the skyscrapers cut along the skylines, already, at only 10AM, busy with people working through their daily routines. At the city's main train station, the 3-day train from the station all the way in the country-town of Wellam, finally found its resting place.

The doors to the train began to open and the passengers leave, among them, Emily Ashford disembarked the train and took her first steps into Neo-Domino city, her new home. She tried to think of it as a new start, but it was still hard, hard to forget why she had to come here in the first place. She was wearing a fairly bland, cream dress, a very large-brimmed hat and carrying several bags from the train.

She'd had some contact with Eden before she got here, but not much, getting any contact details about her had been a mission in itself. For some reason Eden hadn't had a lot of contact since she moved to Neo-Domino, but she was still willing to give Emily a place to stay until she could sort something out herself.

Standing on the platform, just a few steps from the train, she stopped, she had no idea how to get to Eden's apartment, just the address. She began looking at the signs posted around the train station, surely one would have a map. There were various advertisements and notices around, eventually she found a poster for the Sky Tournament, one day, she'd enter something like that, a huge tournament for the most skilled players able to make it to Neo-Domino City. But until she could train herself to that level, she'd just have to make do with watching the tourneys. Taking a look at the date, it struck her just how long the train journey had been, it was only three days until the tourney itself began, that would be a nice way to start off a new life, with a great event like that.

She still hadn't found a map.

Tom stepped out of the train. During the journey a little boy had bumped in to him and as a punishment Tom put his head in the toilet almost long enough for the boy to drown. But the boy complained to his mother who complained to the staff and tom was put in a holding cell. Now he was looking for the boy to get his revenge. While walking over the station he kicked some bags on the rails because he knew the owners where to scared to do anything. Finally, he found the boy. Now it was time to see if Neo-Domino City has good hospitals.

(OOC: Good post Zynix. xD)

Eden wasn't eager to have her cousin stay with her. Things between Eden's immediate family and her mother's side were always tense - Eden's mother moved to Neo-Domino City decades ago, while the rest of her family continued to live a simple country life. Her mother had big dreams. She couldn't relate to those unambitious bumpkins, she had told Eden many times.

Hopefully Emily wouldn't be any trouble, though. Eden remembered her from Christmases as a little girl with pigtails and manners that would embarrass a duchess. And she was bland. Polite and bland.

So Eden entered the train station, she headed straight for the young woman in the cream dress, holding up a hand in greeting. Eden was wiry like her cousin, but unlike her she had... pretty much no chest to speak of; and her outfit was more complex. She matched black pants and a shoulder-less top, over which was thrown an open, dark-green vest. White leaves and vines were embroidered in several places on the vest. Two over-lapping belts, both with metal studs and a deckbox attached to one, hugged her chicken-skinny waist, and her feet were encased in clunky combat boots the same shade as her dark brown, almost black hair that fell in ringlets on her shoulders.

Eden touched the other woman's shoulder hesitantly. Both of her hands were covered with thin leather gloves as a sort of... precaution more than a fashion statement. "Emily?"

(Edit: I like combat boots.)

Bruce's lip curled slightly as he departed one the train carriage. 'God, I spend pretty much my pay cheque of this damn train fare, more so that shabby apartment. If not for my deck this would be f**king unbearable' he thought. Bruce quickly scanned the train stainstation to see if he could possibly duel someone out of their pay cheque. He exhaled sadly and waited to board the train that would take him to Satelite. The bench he was sitting was occupied by a pair of kids and their mother. He didn't bother to look, it was too painful to remember the looks on his parent's faces after the incident.

Sitting in the back of the train, at the end of the very last car, Kyojo sat silently, working on his custom Duel Disk with some old hand tools so as not to disturb other passengers. Ever since he had left the Satellite, his misconceptions about the so-called "Utpoia" of the city. Feh. There was more freedom in the slums than in this Neapolitan Dictatorship they dared call a free city. And the Duels they arranged for public entertainment: nothing against the Satellite's players. The few people he'd dueled since arriving, were rank amateurs. Now, he was looking for a REAL CHALLENGE.

OOC: I'm hope this is not getting to violent, if it is just say it and I will change.

"I hope that you learned to NEVER make me angry again" said Tom while he walked away, leaving the crying mother and the beat up boy behind. Tom started to search for a toilet, he wanted to wash his hands. While walking he looked at the other duelists, he saw some that where very scared and some others that where overconfident. Those where the easiest ones to intimidate and he liked dueling against them. What he didn't like where people that didn't look like they where very weak, physically speaking, and that didn't have a face that you could read easily. He saw some like that among the crowed as well. If you didn't fell in the last category than Tom didn't care much about your dueling skills, most of the time he didn't really have to duel you. After walking a bit, scanning some duelists and kicking more bags on the rails Tom found a toilet. "Finally, after all nobody wants his cards to get red." said he to himself while walking in to the toilet.

"Now entering Neo Domino train station! Make sure each and every one of you have your belongings. Have a nice day!" a voice rang out over the intercom system on the train car. Kevin grabbed his dark-blue duffel bag, stood up, checked his watch, and exited the car. It had been a whole summer since he was in Neo Domino, yet the entire city looked to have been upgraded since those three months he was in the United States.

"Now I have to go to Neo Domino Grande Hotel. That should't be too far away...," Kevin spoke to himself. He pulled out his cell phone, quickly punched some numbers, and brought it to his ear. After a few seconds, a voice picked up.

"Hello?" the voice said.

"Cruz? Is that you?" Kevin responded.

"Kaze! It's been a while! How was the United States?" Cruz answered.

"It was nice. I was wondering if you were at the hotel yet," Kevin asked.

"Yea. I'm here. Make your way over here! Ophelia is here!" Cruz explained.

"Alright. I'll see you in a few. Peace, Cruz," Kevin agreed before he hung up. He put his phone back in his pocket with a slight grin on his face before walking out of the train station. Outside, the sky was an elegant shade of baby blue. There were clouds speckled amongst the sky and the sun was shining brightly. It was a beautiful day to walk in the city.

Kevin had been walking for a few minutes before he came to a shopping center. He walked inside because he wanted to buy something--he just didn't know what--and to see what the mall looked like. He entered through the sliding double doors and quickly spotted a large mass of people in the middle of a large circle. They were circled around something, cheering and jeering for something. Kevin made his way over and saw that a Duel was going on. "Wow. A Duel," Kevin whispered to himself. "Hey, who's Dueling right now?" Kevin asked a man standing next to him.

"His name is Kidd. He says that he's the best in all of Neo Domino, so he's challenging anyone to a Duel. He just got finished with one," the man answered without even looking at Kevin. kevin nodded his head, walked near the inner edge of the circle and spotted who the man was talking about: a tall, burly man of roughly 25. He had short, crew cut hair and a long, blond-brown beard that stopped at the bottom of his chest. He was wearing a red shirt and black pants, accompanied by brown boots. He was holding up a ticket as he was shouting.

"I'm sick and tired of beating all of these worthless punks! I'm willing to bet my entire month's paycheck to the sucker who can beat me!" the man shouted. Kevin looked down at the floor, but dropped his bag. He quickly glanced at it and noticed that his Duel Disk had come out.

"YOU! With the Duel Disk! Step in here!" Kidd shouted at Kevin. Kevin looked up, grabbed his Duel Disk, zipped his bag, put it back on his shoulder and stepped into the circle. "I'll Duel you!"

"No, thank you," Kevin responded.

"Alright, you little wimp! I'll just go home and tell your mommy that you didn't want to play today, you sissy!" Kidd taunted. Unfortunately, his taunting worked. Kevin turned around hastily, readied his Duel Disk, and walked back to the circle.

"No one calls me a wimp. Get your Deck set. I'm gonna strip you of that money," Kevin warned.

"Ooh. A challenge. Now this is what I'm talking about!" Kidd shouted. The Duelists were set and the crowd was riled.

"DUEL ON!" both participants shouted.

OOC1: Ok, I think that's enough time for everyone to intro.

OOC2: Violent? I'm pretty sure your posts have contained all violence so far.

OOC3: Wow, that was a bit quick into a duel >_>

Emily was still carefully looking at the poster, blissfully unaware of anything happening around her. Even though someone else would no doubt be able to point it out to her later, she took a quick mental note of the venue and the name of the 'city champ', he'd be one to watch out for. Emily spent a while while looking around other posters on the wall to get a grip of what was currently happening in the city, she slowly began to lose interest and fall into a day-dream of sorts, deprived of sleep from the unfortunately uncomfortable train journey.

Emily didn't quite know how to react when she felt the hand on her shoulder, for a moment she froze up, then she heard her name spoken into her ear. She couldn't remember hearing Eden's voice in person before, they were both so much younger last time they'd met, but she recognised it from over the phone when they'd been arranging everything. With a huge happy grin on her face she turned around an threw her arms around Eden in a massive embracing hug before quickly letting go and taking a sudden step back with a slight look of shock on her face, "Oh... s-sorry," she said with a stutter, blushing and embarrassed that she'd been so forward to someone she hadn't seen in so long, "it's great to see you again."
