Max most of the stuff you say I don't understand. Especially the plot' date=' twist, fillers you talk about. TBH I don't really cars as long as I enjoy it. For some reason as I get older some hero moments or when something sad/they say something about saving someone or something I find it more and more Korney. Im not positve you understood me but I can't really thing of a way to phrase it.

YGO 5Ds put simply

 

Fortune Cup Arc

 

Yusei, who lives in a slum, breaks the law to play a children's card game with his 'friend' Jack (who in the past tried to drown someone). He wins. Then runs from the law until he is invited to a children's card game tournament, some of which will be on motorbikes.

 

Enter Aki, a psychotic witch with sadism fantasies. After she almost kills two people with her mind and cards, she faces Yusei in the final. Yusei wins. Thus, Yusei fights Jack again. Yusei wins (again). During the duel, some foreshadowing occurs.

 

 

Dark Signer Arc

 

Yusei, now King of Card Games (much to Yami's disgust) goes back to his slum home to meet up with his criminal friend Crow. To celebrate they play a motorcycle-riding children's card game with some policemen; and through a loop-hole in the law, escape by winning.

 

Later that day, Yusei finds his old friend Kiryu is now a zombie, who rides a motorbike and plays a children's card game of death. Cue 2 episode long card game. Kiryu uses the power of an evil god to summon his Earthbound Immortal. Ccapac Apu attempts to grab Yusei, but his card game-playing motorcycle breaks and the duel ends.

 

Over the next few episodes, some vague unrelated inconsequential backstories involving the Duel Monster Spirit World, someone's brother, part of Series 1, and a Satellite legend are explained. In each case, they are done so through the medium of children's card games; and in all cases, the Dark Signers lose. Big surprise. One note is that Yusei and Jack both get bigger dragons that are basically invincible.

 

Then, the big boss. Godwin, who everyone thought was a good guy, turns out to be evil [Generic Anime plot-twist #8]. He accepts the power of a wicked god, becomes incredibly ripped and thinks the only way to defeat Yusei, Jack and Crow is to play a children's card game of death with them...not simply punch them in the face with his massive biceps.

 

He then attempts to fuse the power of light (The Crimson Dragon) and darkness (The Earthbound Immortals) together to make himself into a God [G.A.P.T. #37]. He fails and loses the children's card game.

 

 

Arc #3

 

Filler. Endless filler.

 

 

World Riding Grand Prix

 

It looks like a plot is about to start (Machine Emperors) but then it stops and we're back to filler. Bruno, mysterious character who turns up with amnesia is very good with computers [Generic Character #3]. Some stuff happens in a warehouse.

 

Team Unicorn are introduced, with spikes and spoilers on their motorbikes. Yusei wins against them (well, duh) and Jack loses.

@Max: The Orichalcos story arch is my favorite in the series. I don't watch 5'Ds so that's news to me. If they deciede that they want to do the Orichalcos again let me know. I want to see if they butcher it. I hope they don't, it was easily my favorite, with Valon and his Armor cards.

 

@Chrid: For me, it is always something like Magic Cylinder. Almost all of my friends use a basic beatdown deck against my Zombies. Except for one I haven't dueled yet, he uses Elemental Heros. I don't know much more then that. Is there any advice anyone can give me on dueling Elemental Heros? This is the first time I'll have dueled one with the actual fusion cards.

@ Striker: One's definitely "Judgment Dragon".

 

And I'm currently working on an alternate storyline after the fall of Godwin that actually uses the potential of the Earthbounds and Dark Signers.


EDIT: Chrid, if you want to know why I left in our duel, it was because I got bored. You used broken, overpowered cards with no real tactics. It was really quite dull.

 

It was as bad as facing Lightsworns or Blackwings.

Has anyone else witnessed how slow the YCM server is responding?

I always have a Reggie on this site, no matter what I post, it's there. I want to ask for an OCG fix for this card. I actually gave the image a BACKGROUND!*Gasp* How is that possible?

[spoiler=OCG Fixes and Balancing]This card is also treated as a Warrior-Type monster. When this card is Summoned you can play 1 Umi from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard, if Umi is activated by this effect its effect is negated. You can pay 1000 Life Points to negate a Spell or Trap that targets this card.
