Morphtronics are up there as well :D they don't need PTD to win but they anime makes them not that great -.-.

Herald decks can also go with Synchros as they shutdown your opponent's Effect

All the "Infinity" sections, which are the parts that seal the Synchro are Level 1. I have no idea how they will cover that up or explain it away.

I do when it has the potential to tear the story apart. If I write a fic, I try to make sure I haven't left any huge holes that make no sense.

@ Dark: It isn't...at all... And when you watch the duel you'll notice something else.

 

Yusei hasn't changed his Deck...at all... He's trying to duel without using Synchros...with a Synchro Deck... hmm...

 

Also' date=' it's Crow's remark: 'Can [b']you[/b] even duel without using Synchro monsters?' that infuriates me. Since when have Synchros been the be-all and end-all of Yugioh?

 

Bolded is exactly what he meant. How can YUSEI duel without using Synchros.

 

Do you think? Because in the episode, when he says that, he's looking at his Deck, and Jack and Yusei have sped away; so I thought he was asking if anyone could duel without Synchros. Which makes me want to kill him.

I wonder what the game of YGO would be like if synchros were in your deck and not your extra deck...like rituals....

And you need to have them in your hand: Then they where WAY less used and WAY more ballanced. And therefor less hated and mostly accepted by thr YGO community.

 

You don't need to have them in your hand: Then they would be less hated, becouse it could ruin your hand. However they could be enoying if they are summoned and would be good Deck thinners.

 

In either cases they would be more ballanced and less abused.

[spoiler=[b]Prelude[/b]]

“Seven Sins Wrath (6400 ATK), attack Junk Warrior!” The armour-clad demon’s fist tore through Yusei’s monster, dealing over 4000 points of damage. “Then, my Trap Card Second Attack activates. By removing from play cards from the top of my Deck equal to the Level of a monster I control that just battled, it can attack once more. I attack Red Dragon Archfiend Jack!” For the second time, the hellish creature lunged forward and crushed its opponent, wiping out Jack’s Life Points. As he lay there, dazed by the force of the impact, he felt his Duel Disk being taken off his arm.

 

Quickly looking up, he saw Hiro picking out two cards from his Deck; ‘Red Dragon Archfiend’ and ‘Scar-Red Nova Dragon’. Jack attempted to climb to his feet, but Hiro kicked him down again.

“If you wish to regain these, prove to me that you have the power they require. In two days, atop Kaiba Corp is where we shall determine that.” With that, the Dark Signer turned and vanished into the flames.

 

 

 

 

[spoiler=[b]1. A Dark Burning Soul[/b]]

The duel continued to repeat in Jack’s mind as he waited on the helicopter pad on the roof of the skyscraper. He knew Hiro was a powerful Dark Signer, much more so than Carly, and possibly stronger than Goodwin. He looked down at his Deck, short of two cards. He silently cursed his opponent for taking away his soul. Recognising the feeling from when Akira defeated ‘Red Dragon Archfiend’, Jack knew that without that card, the centre of being was missing.

 

Jack heard the lift reach the top floor. The doors slid open, revealing the robed figure within. Hiro looked up, a sinister grin on his face. As Hiro drew closer, he raised his arm and revealed Jack’s pair of cards, before placing them in his duel disk, ready to use.

 

“I can feel your desire to take back your cards. It’s a good start.” Jack’s eyes narrowed at the comment.

“What do you have to gain from taking Red Dragon Archfiend?” Jack angrily retorted.

“My quarrel is not with Red Dragon Archfiend, but with Scar-Red Nova Dragon. I find it curious that you, a Signer, would be chosen and indeed able to control the might of the lost Earthbound Immortal.”

“I was able to because of my burning soul! And you Dark Signers weren’t able to control it!”

“Those fools didn’t try to control Scar-Red Nova. It’s not that they couldn’t, they just never tried. I on the other hand, need that power for my plans to proceed.”

“What plans? And how does Scar-Red Nova Dragon fit into it?” Jack asked.

“We Dark Signers have the ability to craft the cards we use, and our abilities become stronger the closer our ties with the Underworld become.” Hiro continued “Once I can use Scar-Red Nova and the other Immortals to forge a connection with the King of the Underworld…everything will be set in place.” Hiro began to laugh hysterically at the thought.

“That’s insane!” Jack shouted. “Now, stop wasting time and duel!” The former king activated his duel disk. Hiro did the same, and a circle of purple flames rose around the duelists. Jack felt the heat from the flames, it was greater than before.

“Like I said Jack, the closer we get to the Underworld, the stronger I become.”

 

“Duel!”

 

Turn 1

 

Hiro

 

“I’ll take the first move.” The Dark Signer started “I activate Hand Destruction. We both discard two cards before drawing two more. I discard Goetia Naberius and Chaos Necromancer. Next, I Normal Summon Breaker the Magical Warrior. Breaker’s effect grants it both a Spell Counter and an additional 300 ATK. I set two cards face-down and end my turn.

 

Jack

 

“My turn! When my opponent controls monsters and I control none, I can Special Summon this card from my hand by halving its ATK and DEF. Come forth, Vice Dragon! I then Normal Summon Dread Dragon. I tune my Level 2 Dread Dragon with my Level 5 Vice Dragon.

 

The ruler's shouts echo throughout! Hammer of Victory, shatter the very earth! Synchro Summon! Flap your wings, Exploder Dragonwing!

 

“Exploder Dragonwing attacks Breaker the Magical Warrior. Since Breaker’s ATK is lower than Exploder Dragonwing’s, I can destroy it instantly and deal damage to your Life Points equal to your monster’s ATK. Now incinerate Breaker the Magical Warrior!” The dragon reared, before flooding Hiro’s side of the field with fire. However, he didn’t move. When the flames cleared, Breaker remained, albeit surrounded by a pitch-black fog. The fog shot out towards Exploder Dragonwing, engulfing it, before destroying it.

 

“Impossible!” Jack looked to Hiro for an explanation.

“Dark Illusion protects any DARK monster from destruction before destroying the card that triggered it.” Hiro laughed slightly “You call this power? So far, I’m unimpressed.” Jack growled.

“I set two cards face-down and end my turn.”

 

 

Turn 2

 

Hiro

 

“My draw! I Normal Summon Junk Synchron, who in turn Special Summons Chaos Necromancer. Next I activate Breaker’s effect; by removing his Spell Counter, I can destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card on the field. I destroy your Trap Card on the right Jack!” Breaker’s sword glowed slightly before slicing through the face-down card, revealing it to be Zero Hole. “I will now tune my Level 3 Junk Synchron with my Level 4 Breaker the Magical Warrior and Level 1 Chaos Necromancer!”

 

Dark burning soul, show yourself to my foes. Rule this world and reign over creation! Synchro Summon! My dark soul, Red Dragon Archfiend!

 

Jack could only stare as his monster rose behind his opponent, roaring defiantly. He saw that it was now coloured slightly darker, and the flames surrounding it had a purple tinge, clearly the influence of its new owner.

 

“Interesting isn’t it Jack? The Crimson Devil almost destroyed you with your own power, and here I am about to do the same. Perhaps you were destined to destroy yourself? Or Red Dragon Archfiend was fated to defeat you? Regardless, Red Dragon Archfiend, attack directly! Absolute Powerforce!”

 

 

 

 

[spoiler=[b]2. Envoys of the Underworld[/b]]

The dragon roared as its hand filled with burning energies, flying towards Jack.

“Destroy the king with his own power, Red Dragon Archfiend! Absolute Powerforce!” Hiro cried.

“I activate Screen of Red!” Jack quickly countered. “Monsters you control with more than 2000 ATK cannot declare an attack.”

“So I see you continue to hide. Very well. I’ll end there.”

 

Jack

 

“My turn! I summon Mad Archfiend in Attack Position!”

“So, will you show me this ‘burning soul’ of yours, or continue to cower behind your defences?” Hiro taunted.

Jack sighed. “I pay 1000 Life Points to maintain Screen of Red…” (Jack LP: 4000 → 3000) “And end my turn.”

 

 

Turn 3

 

Hiro

 

The top card of Hiro’s card glowed a dull purple as he reached for it, revealing it to be his Earthbound Immortal. Hiro merely glanced at it, before summoning a different monster.

“I summon Goetia Valefor, whose effect allows me to Special Summon a lower-levelled ‘Goetia’ monster from my Graveyard. I choose Goetia Naberius.” A swirling cloud of darkness leeched from the first monster, before forming into the second monster, which then too became surrounded by a similar aura.

 

“Goetia Naberius, once per duel, allows me to discard 1 DARK monster from my hand to Special Summon a second Goetia Naberius from my hand. I therefore discard Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu.” Hiro noticed Jack’s surprised expression and smiled.

 

“I Double Tune my two Level 3 Goetia Naberius monsters with my Level 4 Goetia Valefor!”

 

Angry blazing souls, I grant you an avatar to strike this world with your fury. Bring forth the terror! Synchro Summon! Ascend vengeance, Goetia Dantalon!

 

A surge of flames erupted behind Hiro and the beast emerged from it, throwing embers onto the duelling field. As it spread its wings, Jack could feel the heat from the monster, and when he looked across, Hiro was obscured by a thermal haze.

 

“Tell me Jack. How does it feel to be confronted with a being from Hell? Do you understand it yet? This is the sort of power needed to control an Earthbound Immortal. And only once you accept that will you earn your monster back.” Hiro smirked “Due to your Screen of Red Trap Card, I cannot attack with either of my monsters, so I’ll end there.”

 

“Red Dragon Archfiend destroys all monsters that did not declare an attack during your End Phase, Dark Signer!” Jack replied “Your own power will destroy you!”

 

“If only that were true… I activate Goetia Dantalon’s effect; by removing from play one of its Synchro Material monsters, I can negate an effect that would destroy it. I remove Goetia Naberius to shield Dantalon. Jack; this is a demonstration of the proper strength needed to control Red Dragon Archfiend and its forms. I won’t be stopped by its own effect.”

 

Jack

 

“Draw! When my opponent controls two or more monsters, I can Normal Summon Power Invader without Tributing; so come forth! I then activate the effect of Screen of Red. Since Red Dragon Archfiend is on the field, I can destroy it to Special Summon one Level 1 Tuner monster from my Graveyard. I choose Attack Gainer! I’m tuning my Level 1 Attack Gainer with my Level 4 Mad Archfiend and Level 5 Power Gainer!”

 

King of the sky, lord of all lightning, burn the earth to ash with your anger. Unthinkable power! Synchro Summon! Judgement of the ruler, Rageki Dragon!

 

“Because Attack Gainer was used as a Synchro Material monster, I reduce the ATK of Red Dragon Archfiend by 1000! Then, when Raigeki Dragon is Synchro Summoned, I destroy one monster my opponent controls and inflict damage equal to that monster’s effect. I choose Goetia Dantalon!”

 

“I see you couldn’t bring yourself to destroy Red Dragon Archfiend. It doesn’t matter. I remove Goetia Valefor to negate the effect.”

 

“Raigeki Dragon has a second effect. By skipping my Battle Phase, I can inflict 1000 damage to my opponent as long as all its Synchro materials are still in my Graveyard.” The dragon’s wings crackled, before losing a potent bolt of white lightning that lanced through Hiro. (Hiro LP: 4000 → 3000)

 

Hiro laughed as he struggled to stand. “That was good. But don’t think that was good enough.”

 

 

Turn 4

 

Hiro

 

“My turn! I activate Akashic Record, allowing me to draw two cards. However, if either of them has been played in this duel, they are removed from play.” Hiro looked at the cards “Neither have been used, so both remain in my hand. I discard Sinister Sprocket to activate Monster Reincarnation, returning Junk Synchron to my hand. Next, I Normal Summon Junk Synchron, who Special Summons Sinister Sprocket. I Double Tune my Level 3 Junk Synchron, Level 1 Sinister Sprocket and Level 8 Red Dragon Archfiend.”

 

Sealed king of the underworld, bring forth your dragon form to curse the mortals. Demonic fire reborn! Synchro Summon! Ruler of demons, Scar-Red Nova Dragon!

 

Hiro began laughing maniacally as the cursed dragon was born from a maelstrom of fire, roaring triumphantly while scattering flames.

 

“Is this the ‘burning soul’ you spoke of Jack? Do you know what it actually is? It is the anger within you, amplified by the Crimson Dragon. It’s the same way my anger is empowered by Ccapac Apu. The Crimson Devil doesn’t bow to a blazing heart; it feeds off the anger within it. The Crimson Dragon simply weakened it enough to be sealed in the geoglyph.”

 

“Scar-Red Nova Dragon gains 500 ATK for every Tuner monster in my Graveyard, taking its current ATK to 5000, due to Goetia Naberius, Junk Synchron and Sinister Sprocket. Now! Scar-Red Nova Dragon! Destroy Raigeki Dragon with your Burning Soul!” The demonic dragon cloaked itself in flames before circling in the sky and diving towards Jack’s own dragon. Raigeki Dragon was sliced in two by Scar-Red Nova’s attack, bursting into flames in the aftermath. As he shielded himself from the blazing debris, he cried out;

 

“Raigeki Dragon’s final effect; by removing from play a DARK Dragon-Type Synchro monster, I can reduce any battle damage to zero and end the Battle Phase!”

“This is too easy! Come on, former king! Give me something powerful to defeat!” Hiro continued to taunt. “Or have you reached your limit? Answer me!”

 

 

 

[spoiler=[b]3. True Form of the Immortal[/b]]

“Come on! Put up a proper fight! I’m actually getting bored!” Hiro laughed “I’m shocked. Getting tired of a Darkness Duel!” Jack gritted his teeth. He looked at his opponent’s monsters and realised that what he drew would determine the outcome of this duel.

 

Jack

 

“My turn! Draw!” Jack’s eyes widened as his did so. “I activate Miracle Synchro Fusion!”

“What?!” Exclaimed Hiro.

“I remove from play Raigeki Dragon and Vice Dragon to Fusion Summon Vulcan Dragon Kaisha!”

 

Jack’s eyes glowed a bright red as the dragon burst out of the ground behind him. Hiro’s expression changed from that of shock to anticipation.

 

“Vulcan Dragon Kaisha’s ATK becomes 4000 due to Raigeki Dragon’s Level being 10. Kaishi attacks Goetia Dantalon! Magna Draco Force!”

“Scar-Red Nova Dragon’s effect; when my opponent attacks, I can remove it from play to negate the attack.”

“It won’t work! On the turn is it Fusion Summoned, Vulcan Dragon Kaisha’s attacks cannot be negated! The battle continues!” Hiro’s dragon was dwarfed by the incoming attack, before being crushed by the strike. The Dark Signer screamed in pain from the burning force. (Hiro LP: 3000 → 2500) As Goetia Dantalon disappeared, a series of ghostly chains surrounded Hiro before clamping onto him, causing him extreme pain. (Hiro LP: 2500 → 1700)

 

“Goetia Dantalon’s effect; when it is removed from the field, I take damage equal my number of removed from play DARK monsters multiplied by 400.” Hiro continued to breathe heavily “I enjoyed that. Now I can see why you can only use power…you’re good with it. But I still control a greater power! Scar-Red Nova!” Hiro pointed at the red and black dragon, an evil smile on his face.

 

“I end my turn.”

“This just got interesting. Excellent.”

 

 

Turn 5

 

Hiro

 

‘I didn’t expect a Fusion Summon, especially not one of such magnitude. Also, why has he left it undefended? It must have an effect that could destroy Scar-Red Nova Dragon. I can’t sacrifice that dragon until I have everything I need.’ Hiro thought as he drew.

“I Set one card face-down and end my turn.”

‘I won’t risk it. And regardless of what he does, I still have the advantage in power. If I draw what I need, this duel will be over quickly.’

 

Jack

 

“My turn! I summon Intercept Archfiend in Defense Position! Whenever you attack, this card will inflict 500 points of direct damage to your Life Points. I end my turn.”

 

 

Turn 6

 

Hiro

 

Hiro reached for his card. Suddenly, a pulse of energy lanced through his arm, igniting his dark mark. Looking at his Deck, the top card was glowing a deep purple. He grinned, and drew the card dramatically.

 

“I activate the Equip Spell Dark Tuning! I equip it to Scar-Red Nova Dragon, and now I get to choose one of two effects: either have the equipped monster’s Level multiplied by minus one, or have the equipped monster treated as a Dark Tuner monster. I choose the second option. Next, I activate Call of the Haunted, reviving Goetia Dantalon!” The chain-bound dragon rose once again, screeching.

“You’re planning to Dark Synchro Summon?!” asked Jack.

“Yes, but since both my monsters are now Dark Tuner monsters, I need non-Tuner material monsters…which will be provided by this card!” Hiro’s arm swung out to point at his second face-down card. “I activate Revival of the Immortals! Come to me, Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu!” Hiro’s dark mark and eyes began to glow as his signature monster rose behind him.

 

Sealed in the earth by blinding light, I shatter the chains restraining you. Incarnation of hate and anger! Arise Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu!

 

“Are you ready Jack?”

“Ready for what?”

“Ready to see the true form of Scar-Red Nova. Not this pitiful sealed form, a pathetic avatar.” Hiro gestured towards Scar-Red Nova Dragon. “The demon that defeated the Signer Dragons in the ancient past and fought the Crimson Dragon single-handedly; it is about to appear! Because of the Equip Spell Dark Tuning and Goetia Dantalon, I take 1600 damage. (Hiro LP: 1700 → 100) I Double Dark Tune my Level 10 Goetia Dantalon and Level 12 Scar-Red Nova Dragon with my Level 10 Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu!

 

Sealed in the earth by the divine ones, become one with my black soul. Give me the ultimate dark power! Dark Synchro! Eternal ruler of death, Earthbound Immortal Allochalmec!

 

 

 

[spoiler=[b]4. Hateful King of Death[/b]]

Hiro’s facial dark mark glowed brightly, before changing into a more elaborate design to represent his new Earthbound Immortal. The human line on his arm was also replaced with the serpent geoglyph. Hiro’s eyes became a vortex of black and purple as the evil deity was summoned.

 

A burst of black fire heralded the creature’s arrival, and Jack noticed immediately that this form of Scar-Red Nova closely resembled the demon he had seen in the Nazca shrine, only a more solid form. The demonic beast roared as the flames surrounding the duelists turned from purple to black.

 

“In many ways Jack, this is your judgment day. Your ‘burning soul’ may have defeated Scar-Red Nova and sealed it in a draconic form, but can you overcome the true form of the last Earthbound Immortal, Allochalmec?”

“Allochalmec?”

“It means ‘King of Death’. Fitting don’t you think? However, I am now going to show you the terrifying heights this god’s power can reach!” As Hiro said this, the eyes of the snakes that formed the lower half of the creature’s body glowed a deep violet and the flames around the duel grew taller and hotter.

 

“Earthbound Immortal Allochalmec’s effect; alongside the ATK and DEF of the Earthbound Immortal that was sacrificed to give it life, when it is Summoned, I remove from play all DARK monsters in my Graveyard, and Allochalmec gains 500 ATK for each card removed. I remove ‘Breaker the Magical Warrior’, ‘Junk Synchron’, ‘Chaos Necromancer’, ‘Goetia Naberius’, ‘Sinister Sprocket’, ‘Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu’, ‘Red Dragon Archfiend’, ‘Goetia Dantalon’ and ‘Scar-Red Nova Dragon’. That’s nine monsters, granting Allochalmec an additional 4500 ATK, raising it to 7500!”

 

The removed monsters appeared briefly in front of the demon before being absorbed into its body, causing it to glow a deep red. Jack did not appear fazed.

 

‘It doesn’t matter how much power his Earthbound Immortal has; once he attacks, Intercept Archfiend will inflict 500 damage, wiping out his last remaining Life Points!’ Jack recited in his mind.

 

“Allochalmec’s next effect; once per turn, I send one DARK monster from my Deck to the Graveyard and select one of Monster, Spell or Trap Cards. Whichever I choose is the type of card my opponent cannot activate during this turn or their next turn. I send Double Coston to choose Monster Cards.”

 

Jack’s eyes widened.

 

“I know perfectly well how many Life Points I have left Jack. I wasn’t going to waste them on a foolhardy attack. Also, with your monster effects locked down, any surprises your Vulcan Dragon could have sprung on me have vanished.”

 

“Earthbound Immortal Allochalmec! Direct attack! Devil Inferno!” The Earthbound Immortal raised its clawed hand, becoming engulfed in black and red energies. As it did, the snakes’ mouths filled with the same power. “Now die Signer!”

 

Jack saw the demon rear, before lunging in with its attack. His two monsters melted in the inferno and he was thrown back by the force of the impact onto the wall of jet-black flames. Pain surged through his body as he felt his life-force being drained by hellish wildfire that now surrounded him. Jack looked across to Hiro, who was now surrounded by a black and purple aura, unmoved despite the swirling flames. The duelist’s eyes were now purely purple as the demon god exercised its power over the human. (Jack LP: 3000 → 0)

 

After what seemed like an eternity, the heat faded and Jack was thrown into the remains of the lift on the roof of the building. Looking around, he saw the chaos created by the Dark Signer. The entire roof was burnt, resembling an arson attack. The lift behind him was partially melted and his duel disk was almost destroyed. Glancing over, he saw Hiro, still unchanged.

 

“The Crimson Devil is controlling you. Can’t you see?” Hiro laughed once again.

“Far from it. I am still in complete control. I am simply granting Allochalmec extra power by using my form as an avatar to strike you with.” As he said this, he raised the monster’s card, re-sealing the demon in it. With that, his eyes returned to normal. “I have power you could never dream of.”

 

Hiro turned, but stopped. Searching through his duel disk, he picked out ‘Red Dragon Archfiend’ and threw it over to Jack.

“It was boring without that dragon being an opponent. Perhaps at some point, you’ll prove to me that you have the right to use an Earthbound’s power. But I doubt it.” Hiro explained, before climbing down the building, leaving Jack as rain began to fall.

Synchros as regular cards are the equivalent of "Sin" Monsters, i daresay

 

and Max is Paradox.

 

EDIT:

Max, you have an error in your fan-fic.

 

Dark illusion negates and I do believe it destroy a card effect that targets a dark monster.

EDit #2: Also Where is the field spell needed to summon the earthbound immortal??!!!

@ Whamo: Which is why "Exploder Dragonwing" got nuked in the first turn.

 

Also, the Sins need to RFP a counterpart in order to be Summoned. If Synchros were like Rituals, but without the Ritual Spell and had to have their materials on the field, then they would be balanced.

You're kind of being contradictory. They're like that now. Their materials have to be on the field except in certain cases of other tuner monsters. The only balancing i can see in any deck is if instead of just synchro summoning whenever possible, create another card for synchro summon. Call it Synchro Fusion. Builds decks. Takes longer to get the synchro momnster out. Just like Fusion monsters and polymerization.

Increase this card's ATK equal to the number of card's removed by this effect x 100. Once per turn, you can remove 1 Machine-Type, "Junk" or "Scrap" monster on the field or in either players Graveyard from play to gain Life Points equal to the removed monster's Level x 100.
