Abb in need, yes indeed

Recommended Posts

Hey hey its been awhile since Abbaton decended upon The Written Card Section, I need the help and knowledge of the collective for the OCG of my most recent card!! any help would be great be as picky as you like I would like it to be as ace as possible, so here it is:

If this card battles an Effect Synchro or Effect Fusion monster card you can negate the selected cards effect, and send that card to the Graveyard without applying damage calulation. If you activate this effect inflict damage to your opponent's Life Points equal to the level of the selected card x200.

Cheers

OCG fix.

great idea. i like the effect. very creative. it would make a good card great :D

~10/10~

It is not a 10/10, it has many flaws in it that would stop this card from being a good card.

* First of all, we have Divine Wrath, Solemn Judgement, etc. and they are not as conditional as THIS card. Divine Wrath can negate the effect of the effect MONSTER (no need for it to be a synchro or fusion) and destroy it (not send it to the graveyard, that is lesser than destroying, and will block the user from pulling off combos) Solemn Judgement too, can stop the synchro summon the second the card appears onto the field.

*This conditionality, and the slowth of the card (you first wait for the synchro to be summoned, then try to draw this, and summon, battle... there is way too much space for your opponent to do something to stop you.) makes it less splashable, and outclassed by the real cards I listed above. It is not a run 3'able, because not EVERY deck uses synchros (I guess that's your popular noob belief), and it can never become a staple, not like the cards listed above did.

* The effect is also broken, there is no cost, it destroys the effect synchro/fusion without getting itself destroyed, and inflicts burn damage. Looking at this effect, I can try and guess that this is a Level 5 or higher monster, which would make the card even slower, and even worse for my taste.

* You also decided not to help us by not posting it's name, attribute, level, type, stats, etc. So, I can only say the things above. The card sucks, and would never see play in real life. If you're going to create a card, create an effective one.

Here is the rest of the info for you all to read if thats what you need to help you:

Rampage Machine Golem

Level 8/Synchro/FIRE/Machine-Type/ATK 3000/DEF 2000. I made this card to be an anti Synchro monster just to make a change from the norm, the effect only applies when battling an effect Fusion or Synchro monster, if it isnt one of those cards then it can still attack in the normal fashion and inflict Battle Damage, thought adding the burn to the effect would still inflict damage to your opponent even if you dont conduct a bttle in the normal fashion. And as Stardust Dragon is the most commonly used sychro monster that is played to date, thought this effect would be a good thing to have tucked away in the Extra Deck.

Thanks Overhkin Rocks for the 10/10 and the encouragement!!

Thanks EnkoMaun for the valid points, I shall look into this and maybe edit it about, not sure if the extra info I have put above helps you out anymore. I shall try to make more effect ones from now one!

There we are. Not only did I trim away the unnecessary language, but I also modified it slightly to work on all Synchro and Fusion monsters. This way, it functions faster and better, hitting more targets. While Enko is right, in that there isn't much gain by playing him, I have a few suggestions on that:

1) Maybe make the burn effect hit the player instead of his opponent.

2) Either drop the Level or one/both of the stats to work with support and searchers.

3) Place a limit on which monsters die. You originally had Effect F/S, but those are the only types of f/s played. Maybe Level 7 or higher? higher than 2500 ATK?

Hopefully these suggestions help.
