Dictator7
Hey, I was just in my civics class and we had to read an article about the school day. It said since some kids aren't doing well on tests, they could extend the school day and have the students practice on testing skills. In massachutsetts, some schools have done it and some say it is working. Other people say the school day is long enough and don't punish the good students. I agree with them, but what do you think? Dark
No. If the school is big, add a minute or two in between classes. Otherwise, no.
OMGAKITTY
This is stupid. Tests aren't even an accurate way to measure intelligence. If anything, they should start school later.

DrakeCannon
I wouldn't mind if they extended the day a bit but let us off on fridays. Three day weekends would rule.

This is actually a viable idea. Instead of having 6.5 hours every 5 days, make it 8 hours every 4 days.

I don't think you understood my post. Standardized testing is a horrible way to measure intelligence. It measures your ability to memorize useless facts. Even then, there are plenty of intelligent students who do poorly on tests. I say starting school later because 7-8 in the morning, honestly, most students aren't thinking. They're tired. Start at like 10, end at 5.

Dark
As it is, kids who are earlier of age tend to wake up earlier and sleep earlier. For example, a 7 year old would fall asleep at 9 and wake up at 7, while a 13 year old would fall asleep at 10:30 and wake up at 8:45. So older kids should have school later. Dictator7
Actually, the school day is long enough, so still go from 7:30am-2:30pm and have a three day weekend.

Dictator7
No. I'm not against education, I like it. But we go to long of a school day, or too long of a week so change something because I learn the same things in school every year since 5th grade. There are still some things taht we have to long, but they are only a little bit of the day. P.S.You're trolling.

Dark
You were obviously lying. Anyone who likes education and lives in America knows most of our population is stupid (compared to many standards), and decreasing school hours will not help. You'd rather move them to the afternoon.
Dictator7
I wasn't lying. It doesn't matter if it is in the afternoon or not. The students who aren't doing good choose if they want to pay attention or not. they choose not too. The students who want to do good in life choose to pay attention. Dark
Using your logic, cutting down school to only one day a week will result in an equal relative smartness compared to 5 days a week.
Dictator7
What are you talking about? I said a 3 day weekend so that would be 4 days of school a week. Again, you should have read my second post.

Catman25
tl;dr We should keep the days the same amount of tine, so there are no arguments over changes. I mean we're surviving now, just keep it that way.
