Felix
OK, it's Fine Art and I need some ideas for something I can work off in my Personal Study. Keep it broad but interesting. Ideas now please, all you gfx guys should be pretty imaginative.
Bloodrun
GFX does not fit Fine ART.Fine ART IS charcoal, paint, pencil, ink, latex, plaster, etc. Fine ART is actually ART not computer generated material. You get where I'm coming from here? On that note, Ideas for what?A paper?A project? What?
OMGAKITTY
It doesn't count unless it comes from you :/ Artwork should send a message that you feel, if I tell you what to make, it becomes my message, not yours. Having said that, dinosaurs.
Felix
GFX does not fit Fine ART.Fine ART IS charcoal' date=' paint, pencil, ink, latex, plaster, etc. [b']Derp, I didn't know that... I'm pointing out that their creativity is what I want, I'm not suggesting gfx is "Fine Art".[/b] Fine ART is actually ART not computer generated material. You get where I'm coming from here? It's pretty obvious so yeah:/ On that note, Ideas for what?A paper?A project? What? Personal Study allows me to pick anything that I want to do work about. For example, the Human figure, collage, colour, natural structures (plants and sheet). I have the freedom to pick almost anything and because I lack any guidance I'm not sure what to do it about. It doesn't count unless it comes from you :/ Artwork should send a message that you feel' date=' if I tell you what to make, it becomes my message, not yours. [b']In fairness I'm not asking you to do it for me, I just want some ideas.[/b] Having said that, dinosaurs. lol

Having said that, dinosaurs.[/quote'] Um.. wrong? When Da Vinci made Mona Lisa, he didn't make it because one morning he woke up and said "I Think I'm going to paint a picture of a girl." No, he was asked to make the portrait. So, a person can have ideas from other people, and still have the artwork come from him or her. It's when the other people help make the art work, that it wouldn't qualify as coming from them. Felix, either your school, is messed up, or you have your facts wrong. Personal Study just means the ability to use the alloted time to do work for other classes, not Pick a subject and study it.At least, that is what any school with common sense would use it for. I can pick what I want to do my book on and what the final piece is about. Last year we were given like 4 different options. This year they told us we could pick w/e we wanted. Any "alloted time to do work for other classes" I just call "not do any work time".

High School? College? If it's Middle School, pick something related to a core class (I.E, math, science). If it's High School Pick something that YOU think will FIT into YOUR career path. If it's college, stay on your Degree Path, don't venture off it.

Well Art is the subject I'm asking about and I want something to work on, ie the human figure, collage, still life, architecture... dinosaurs. Random painting of anything doesn't count. Maybe a few artists who's styles and works I can write about. If it's college, stay on your Degree Path, don't venture off it. You don't get it:/ Hold on, I don't think you understand. Personal Study in Art. I'm in 2nd year of College (If you're American that's be Grade 13).

Yes I am American, and if its your second year in college, it would be grade 14, because grade 12 is still High School. And for your interest in art, what course degree are you going for? Art History, Graphic Design, Commercial Design?
Felix
No, UK college is grade 12 and 13 in america, your college is an equivilant of our university. Give more information, so I can give you an answer worth answering. Like what are you studying? What are you interested in? What degree are you trying to get? What is your job? Kitty was actually a lot more helpful. Give more information, so I can give you an answer worth answering. Don't answer an answer, that'd be stupid. Like what are you studying? The only one that matters is Fine Art, seeing as how that's what this thread is about. What are you interested in? In my Art subject that I am currently taking, I have used collage, abtract paint techniques, photography. What degree are you trying to get? It's an Art f'cking A Level that I'm taking right now, I'm not trying to get anything other than a grade in that. What is your job? I don't have one. What did you want to do when you got out of college. A career in Art. what did you want to before you entered college? A career in Art. THIS IS NOT ABOUT COURSES. It's about picking what to do my artwork about during the first half of my year, during the 2nd half it'll be an exam piece.
Guest JoshIcy
Do a character study on a fish, squid and anemone. It sounds simple, but their behavior and motions are more fluid than you think. And each have a different type of skin texture. So you can learn a lot. Kurt Schwitters is probably my favourite artist... even if he did do the nasty with his cousin.

If you haven't been warned by now, tisk tisk. Anyway that's beside the point, I asked you for information so that I can answer you. Your title, if I am not mistaken says, "Help me or don't". bury the year
Make an experimental piece on YCM' date=' lol.[/quote'] That would be amazing, and at the same time horribly cringeworthy. It would melt your eyes, but then irradiate the sockets with the sheer drama and lulz that is YCM. Thus, giving you bone cancer. But you'd still get an A. Cyber Altair
Diarrhea is worse then cancer. Anyway if you're a gamer/anime fan you could make some small sculptures of some of your favorite character.
