Lord Ursus
Formless is the void to usYet by name we call it “Darkness”‘Tis closing in, contagious,In its creative wake, relentless.Likewise are the memoriesWe gather through our lives;Remnants of frivolitiesThat scars our life like knives.Without substance, yet it cutsLike steel, with crafted hate. The existence lived by many “buts”,We failed to recreate. It severs life from life itselfExpanding thus for it to beOur very value, real wealth,The bliss that has forsaken me.I lived my life through storiesOf the past I ever livedMy entity of memoriesI followed and perceived. Welcome all. The Memory Requiems started out as a set I made because I liked the idea, and throughout the three years since then, I’ve tweaked the set into a lot of versions. You are now about to experience the newest version, that seems to me better than all other versions. It is the version used by Jupiter Apson in my current fan-fiction, "Yu-Gi-Oh! The Omega Organization". The Omega Organization This set has been renovated and given Japanese text, but mind that they are not 100% correct. You will not need to comment on this. The deck features the game tech of Memory Zones. When you summon a Memory Requiem monster, you can treat its Monster Card Zone as a Memory Zone to have it gain its best effect, allthough its Level becomes 0, and if all monsters you control are in Memory Zones, your opponent can attack you directly. I have made the images for all the monsters revealed thus far, although the renders origins from Wen-M on deviantart.com. I claim no ownership on them or any other image I use for this set. So now, without further ado, the set: ~The Cards~
The monsters]MRLF-EN001 – Not released MRLF-EN002 – Not released MRLF-EN003 – Not released MRLF-EN004 – Not released MRLF-EN005 – Not released MRLF-EN006 – Not released MRLF-EN007 – Not released MRLF-EN008 – Not released
Memory Requiem - Rage******DARKFiend / EffectATK 1700 / DEF 1100If you control 1 or more monsters and 0 Levels, you can Normal Summon this card without Tribute. When this card is Summoned, you can treat its Monster Card Zone as a Memory Zone. As long as this card is in a Memory Zone, Level 0 monsters you control gains 500 ATK. (A monster in a Memory Zone is treated as Level 0. If all monsters you control are in Memory Zones, your opponent can attack you directly) Author's notes: Meant to create an alternate win condition, Rage works on the aggressive part of the set, allowing your Level 0 monsters to gain a rather nice sum of ATK. It also helps Torment gain an ATK high enough to decide games. The free Normal Summon is always a bonus.
Memory Requiem - Remorse***DARKFiend / Effect1500 / 0When a monster you control attacks, take 500 damage. When this card is Summoned, you can treat its Monster Card Zone as a Memory Zone. While this card is in a Memory Zone, monsters you control inflict Piercing Damage. (A monster in a Memory Zone is treated as Level 0. If all monsters you control are in Memory Zones, your opponent can attack you directly) Author's notes: Just so you won't bother me with commenting on this card's rather poor art, rest assured that I'm not happy with it either. It is a temporary one that I haven't had much time to switch. Well, to the rest of the card: This card is mainly for allowing you a victory when you can't seem to get that Torment, as this card together with Suffering creates a devasting team. It actually allows all your monsters to do piercing damage, but in exchange for this powerful ability, you lose 500 Life Points each time a monster of yours attacks. (Even when it's not in a Memory Zone) Plus, if you actually do have Torment out, you will pump it up a notch with each attack. When this card is destroyed by battle or by an effect that targets a monster, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the ATK of this card. When this card is Summoned, you can treat its Monster Card Zone as a Memory Zone. While this card is in a Memory Zone, when you would take damage, that damage becomes 0 and this card gains an equal amount of ATK. (A monster in a Memory Zone is treated as Level 0. If all monsters you control are in Memory Zones, your opponent can attack you directly) Author's notes: Ah, Torment. Ever since I started this project for about 3 years ago, this card, although named Memory Requiem – Anguish then, have been my favorite among every single card I’ve made thus far. I remember the time when it could still attack, but as this was very much overpowered, I had to balance it. Playing with the deck in real life taught me that it took an incredibly large amount of Life Points just for being destroyed in any way. Now it has to be targeted, either by an effect or by an attack that would overpower it, so it can lash some real torment. Select 1 monster you control and inflict 1000 damage to your opponent, then destroy the selected monster. Author's notes: This card is meant as a win condition, or just a solid burn, as a lot of MR’s like to be destroyed. Especially Torment. If the game goes your way, you’ll rather easily get a Torment with 4000 ATK or more, so this card will deliver 5000+ of damage to your opponent’s face. You can also activate it during your opponent’s turn as long as you control two or more Memory Zones, but that is easily accomplished. Quite the deal if you ask me. Special Summon 1 "Memory Requiem" monster from your Deck, then take 500 damage for each card in your hand. Author's notes: This card offers an astounding amount of utility for the set. It allows you to start the game with a Torment with 2500 ATK if used in the first turn. Of course, you could fetch whatever MR you desire, then blast your opponent for a ton of damage with Spell of Pain. To balance it out, I made it so that you can only use a single copy of it each turn. MRLF-EN029 - Not released
The traps]MRLF-EN030 – Not released
Memory SealingCounter TrapActivate only when you control 1 or more "Memory Requiem" monsters. Negate the activation and effect of a Spell or Trap card and destroy it, then take 700 damage. Author's notes: Your all-purpose Counter Trap for ridding you of any trouble that may occur to mess with your strategies. For a small dose of damage, you get to Negate any Spell or Trap and then chuck it into the Graveyard. And as this obviously strengthens Torment, it’s a fine deal with me. Just mind having a MR on the board first. ragnarok1945
major problem is Rage is too weak for lv6, it does get powerful later on, but it needs to start off something stronger 8/
Lord Ursus
Hhm. I think its fine as it is, but yeah, that's my opinion. Seeing as you can just summon it on the first turn 100 points stronger than Cyber Dragon seems to me as a bit powerful. You just hang around, there will be more interesting cards than these. ;)
ragnarok1945
out of curiosity, what do you mean by the memory zones?
Lord Ursus
Well, symbolicly, when the Memory Requiems are summoned in a Memory Zone, they become more Memory than monster card, so it loses some abilities that monsters have, such as Levels and being able to protect you. ragnarok1945
Lust's pic is great, though for Memory's End I don't get why you have the black hole in the pic.... Also I think Memory's End may need another effect and drawback 8.9/
Lord Ursus
Glad you liked the pic. And for Memory's End, I just surfed through some images and couldn't find another one, so I just went for that. The effect is also meant to be OP, because all sets have some overpowered cards, such as Judgment Dragon, and such. Well, I don't know... I couldn't give it an effect that lets it destroy all my monsters, as that could cause a OTK if I had enough Torments, so what do you think I should add as a drawback? ragnarok1945
just a simple one, like skipping the draw phase or something
