Aspartame does NOT cause cancer. It has NEVER been proven to cause cancer.

Notice, you said it can give YOU cancer. YOU being a human. If you read the article correctly, you would clearly see this: Similarly, studies of other FDA-approved sweeteners have not demonstrated clear evidence of an association with cancer in humans.

Therefore, like I said, it has NEVER been proven to cause cancer. I apologize if my last post was a bit vague. Let me rephrase that...

Aspartame does NOT cause cancer. It has NEVER been proven to cause cancer IN HUMANS. And if I may add this, the article also stated that Aspartame, distributed under several trade names (e.g., NutraSweet® and Equal®), was approved in 1981 by the FDA after numerous tests showed that it did not cause cancer or other adverse effects in laboratory animals.

Saccharin is the cancerous substance in this entire discussion. And even at that, there has been no evidence of saccharin causing cancer in humans. A study in the 70s linked saccharin with bladder cancer in LAB RATS. Not humans.

So, lets sum this up here. Aspartame = safe. Saccharin = Apparently not dangerous, unless you're a lab rat.
