Dark
The Uberman sleep schedule would mean sleeping (even for a short period of time) in school. Schools dun like that. D: Because no one sleeps in school. :/ I attempt to sleep... My teachers usually wake me up. How rude of them. I slept once in class. My teacher is kinda blind' date=' and a bit deaf, and she didn't notice as I was sitting in the back of the room. Good thing the bell woke me up.[/quote'] In 7th grade, I had to take a sewing class as a part of Family Consumer Sciences. In that class we made small pillows. Every day that week, I took the pillow to a different class and went to sleep. xD It worked great until the last period of the day. I fell asleep, the bell didn't wake me up, my teacher decided since I had to nerve to sleep through his class he wasn't going to wake me up. At 4:30 (two hours after dismissal) one of the janitorial workers woke me up and told me to go home. xD That is a REALLY mean teacher. At least he should have woken you up and subsequently yelled at you or something. It was pretty epic though. I learned my lesson... Set an alarm on your cell phone for 2:45. xD And you could still technically sleep through that, as they aren't that loud.

Usually when I set a cellphone alarm, I place it somewhere close to my face. That usually does the trick.
Cyber Altair
Yup. They hardly work as alarms. Good thing using Uberman's schedule you wake up pretty much 30 minutes later when you're used to it.
Felix
It's pretty interesting, instead of the 20ish minutes REM you'd get on a normal 24 hour sleeping pattern, you multiply it by like 9 and a bit times. It seems a bit impractical though, especially for me, I don't want to have to keep going to sleep when I'm trying to get some work done. Seems more of a way to make sure you can go through the night hours partying and still have some of the day left to eat and do generic day to day things. Also, interesting fact. If you feel like a quick 20 minute power nap. Drink an energy drink or heavily caffinated beverage before hand; caffeine takes about 20 minutes to kick in so when you get up you'll feel even more refreshed than normal. Cyber Altair
Yah because that's totally healthy. It is something of an annoyance to sleep for like 30 every 4 hours but it actually makes you stay awake for a longer time.
Dark
After 2 weeks go by using this schedule, will you ever feel "tired"? And it would interfere with your lifestyle if you want to go to XYZ city for a day-trip, but have to nap every few hours.
Cyber Altair
From what I read you won't drop asleep but you can feel a bit weird/tired when you don't sleep during the time you're usually sleeping.

If you miss a 30 minute nap cycle, will you (or can you force yourself to) sleep for an hour the next cycle?
Cyber Altair
Again from what I've seen you're body gets used to waking every 30 minutes so it's not that likely really but a cool thing is you can remember every dream you've had seeing as the REM stage is the one where you dream in and you don't sleep much later to forget it. Cyber Altair
What's Psychology got to do with sleeping.
Dark
Actually, in the course description of Psychology, we do a whole unit on sleeping, REM sleep, different sleep patterns, etc. I'm sure Uberman would be listed SOMEWHERE in the curriculum. I took a semester of HS psych, and it wasn't mentioned anywhere in that section. You'll just learn the basics of the sleep cycle and move on.
