Dark Mousy
If someone comes to you with a request, can you please say no if you don't want to? How much energy does it take to press reply to that PM, and type no?!? Seriously, ignoring someone is not very nice.
Zeroshot
Who'd you PM? Maybe try PMing like' date=' Yin or Opalmoon. They're pretty good about stuff. Nobody likes an attention whore who thinks they're more special then the next person.Including the mods, they ignore you because your stupid, simple as that. He didn't imply that he thought he was more special than anyone. Do you think that everyone should have their requests ignored, and asking that they not be ignored is attention-seeking and egotistical? GTFO. Dark Mousy
Okay. I guess my PM counts as one of the harsh and sometimes abusive PMs?

Posting exactly what was just countered again and adding flaming to it doesn't mean it's any more of a point than when it was first countered. Counter or lose, that's how I roll. I reply to around 20% of my PM's. I enjoy a busy and happy Real Life and YCM will ALWAYS be second priority. Have you actually considered the fact that the Mod team (myself included) recieve harsh and sometimes abusive PM's now I know how the Supers feel. And not replying will make them understand? If you're going to be active, actually be active. It takes a good 20 seconds to type out a response.
J-Max
As I said I sometimes just can't be bothered as I would expect abuse. Put yourself in my shoes for a second. You recieve 50+ PM's a day. What do you do? Reply to them all? Unlike some members my free time is limited. I'm also a Member at heart and comes first. Dark Mousy
Okay. Time yourself, click reply, think about it for 5 secs, and type out a quick reply. I'm not asking for you to do anything special. Just a short 'no' will suffice to most people who are awaiting requests, or type 'go to '. That should not take more than 20 seconds as Polaris had mentioned. Multiply by 50, thats 1000 seconds = 16 minutes.
J-Max
OK then. Add a PSP to the equasion. I surf on that 80% of the time. I use my friends PC to upload any cards when needed. Typing speed is severely reduced
Dark Mousy
I'm saying taking ~15 minutes every day to answer everyone's requests is not a large amount of time. Even if you take 30 minutes a day, it's not much, but again, it's your call, this is just an appeal.
Lemniscate
And seriously, posting attention seeking threads make them even less likely to say yes, or even respond.

Dark Mousy
I don't even care about it anymore. Just saying. It's one thing I think mods should do better. It's not just me. What would you feel like if you ask something, and Mods completely ignore you?

Lemniscate
It happens, I would get over it.Seriously, mods have a life, they don't spend their whole day surfing YCM, answering member's many questions and cleaning up spam. They do the best they can, but they have a hell of a lot of work to do here, and can't get to it all.Cut the Mods some slack. Dark Mousy
So, but this should take <5 secs to do and it shows some basic decency that the mods care about you.*gets shot by Icyblue*
Lemniscate
They care about you, but they also have 400,000+ other people to care about at the same time.

Dark Mousy
So you are implying 400,000+ people make requests to them every time they go on, and PM them and ask personally.
~ P O L A R I S ~
That's because the Mods you were PMing don't care about you. They only care about their MSN contacts. They care about you' date=' but they also have 400,000+ other people to care about at the same time.[/quote'] Lol, no.
Dark Mousy
That is a possibility.

Even if you take 30 minutes a day' date=' it's not much, but again, it's your call, this is just an appeal.[/quote'] You have no idea how torturingly long it takes for you to type out a simple message using the PSP. 50 PMs (lets just call it 50, even though its exaggerating) would take anywhere between 2 - 3 hours. I spend 6 hours a day on a computer and even I don't have that kind of patience (or willpower), and I suspect nobody else does either.
dimented dimentio
well, you shouldnt ignore someone.it leads to anger and hatred.or you could hurt peoples feelings and that isnt very nice now is it?
Lemniscate
Let's assume for a second that out of the 400,000 members of YCM, 5% have PMed a mod at any given time, that's 20,000 people, then let's assume that these are split up equally amongst the moderators, that then equals about 770 messages per mod. Now, let's add in the number of reports each moderator receives for their given section. Now tell me it's easy to handle all of this, all the time. EDIT: Polaris, I'd rather not bash the mods, as the only thing keeping them here is goodwill. They don't have to help if they don't want to, but they choose to.
