Someone kick off topic pl0x. I feel like replying but there's nothing to reply to.

Alright then. What are your computer specs?

Intel Core 2 Duo (I forget the model number) @ 2.2Ghz

NVIDIA GeForce 8600m GT w/ 512MB

Intel Pentium 4 @ 2.8

NVIDIA GeForce 5600 with 512 MB

It sucks. D:

Single core I presume? Also laptop or desktop?

I think it was duel or quad. Doesn't really matter, because they can both run at the same speed.

Can you come up with some valid evidence? And the difference is pretty small.

From what I can tell they're usually newer with better architectures, and double the processing power for games and anything that supports all 4 cores, and significantly better multitasking.

Multitasking is based on RAM.

Multitasking is based on RAM.

I'm thinking of simultaneously running 4 applications, not just having them open and assigning them priority.

Now I get it. But I'm still siding with Duel becuase it's cheap.

Lol @ making Official threads without Mod permission.

Anyway, my specs are:

AMD 64 Athlon x2

NVIDIA -something- [i don't know D:, how can I find out? I'm pretty sure it's sh*it on this Laptop, 'cause I only use it for business, writing and internet. I'm buying a new one soon :\]

For kizzi and scarlet's argument, kizzi wins =p Quad cores have 4 cores working simultaneously, whilst dual have 2. Even if both had the same clock speed, quad would exceed it as it can run it at a greater rate of stability. If the speeds were only a tiny difference, everyone would buy 3Ghz pentium 4 processors for a fraction of the price of quad cores =p Kizzi is right again about the simultaneous programs running, because quad cores generally have a larger cache than lower processor models.

I got a CPU from Walmart.

2 GB RAM

160 GB Hard Drive

BUT NO PCI SLOT!!! WTF?

Where did you get the rest of your PC from? I didn't even know Walmart sold CPUs. I thought they were just a general store...?

Lol, 160GB HDD. Anyway, post the important specs like the CPU and GPU.
