amazing. xP thats what Tele-dad players felt like after the banlist hit. I loled when that happened. I make it a point to use cheap-costing cards, unless the card itself is too beneficial for me to ignore, like DAD...which I have one so I'm good on that.

Raigeki wiped all your opponent's monsters at the cost of one measly card in your hand.

Dark Hole was Raigeki when you had no monsters.

Harpies feather duster was Raigeki for your opponent's spells/traps

 

now for cards that require some thought...

 

Pot of greed was 2 free cards.

D-Hero Disk Commander can be pot of greed whenever SSed from the grave. easy ways to do this are D-Hero Fear Monger and Zombie Master w/ ZWorld

Drawing that many cards either leads to exodia, or a massively unfair card advantage.

ok...let's say you draw pot of greed because you're having a duel.

 

now. for further assumption, im going to say you have 3 Crystal beasts in your s/t zones and your opponent has 2 face-downs, Mirror Force and Sakuretsu Armor, and 3 monsters, lets say Dark Armed Dragon, Stardust Dragon, and Colossal Fighter, and you have no other cards.

 

Now, lets say your pot of greed grants you a Sapphire Pegasus and Crystal Abundance.

 

you now can wipe your opponents field and attack directly for game (most likely) because you got the cards you needed to win faster than you normally would have.

You have no clue what Hand Advantage is, do you?

Pot Of Greed is a instant +2 with no cost.

Dark Hole, even with White Hole being released, was a +0 when follow-up Summoning, and if the right cards got destroyed (Like Plague or Vayu) then you just won.

Feather Duster was awesome, but broken and a ALWAYS NEED in OTKs.

Draw Power is one of the best things you can have in a Duel. Pot Of Greed fuels it at the cost of nothing.

 

And it wasn't banned the instant it was made. So it had a reason for a whie.

sometimes though, cards arent made with any intent on being broken. in fact, Dark Strike Fighter (who is now thankfully banned) was initially thought of as a "Bad Card". Players that abuse certain cards too much are what cause this sort of commotion.
