Catman25
Indeed, itz one of the cheapest things on Earth. My teacher told us the story, of how he bought a cup of coffee that was around the price of gas $2.-- and how a gallon of it would've been $38USD. So you get a gallon for $2.00 and a gallon of another liquid for 1400% more. Discuss?
Guest Uchiha Itachi
*ahem* you need large amounts of gas for your car to work there fore you need to multiply that number....then we can talk
Catman25
You raise a valid point, but per unit, gas is cheaper.
Dismal Euphony
You raise a valid point' date=' but per unit, gas is cheaper.[/quote'] This is true, but no one looks at it like that. The average car needs probably 15 - 20 gallons of fuel. The average person usually buys a 16 - 18oz. coffee. So, technically, coffee is cheaper. ;\

Catman25
Say you filled you car with coffee. Looking at it from that perspective, gas is the better buy.
Dismal Euphony
Say you filled you car with coffee. Looking at it from that perspective' date=' gas is the better buy.[/quote'] Yes, but that's a stupid perspective. ;\ No one would ever fill their car with coffee. In real life situations, coffee is the better buy. Until you need 15 - 20 gallons of coffee, it will be the better buy.
~/Coolio Prime\~
Gas is slightly lower only because it's bought in such bulk. You can put higher prices on items sold in smaller quantities so everything evens out.
Death Metal
I'm almost positive that air is the cheapest thing on earth. But i'm sure gas is in 3rd, right after water.

Blamonchesix
Generally in volume, yes. But you need large amounts of gas than coffee.Wouldn't it be great if we had a car than runs on carbon dioxide? (Just a thought)

Muluck
You think gas is the cheapest thing on earth? Have you not seen is rise exponentially over the past 4 years? Gas is far from the cheapest thing on earth, and even farther from ever getting there.

Gas is far from the cheapest thing on earth' date=' and even farther from ever getting there.[/quote'] He is say that it is cheap PER GALLON. Gas around here is about $2.75 per gallon. If you look at it on a "per gallon" standpoint, it's quite cheap; however, since we need it in bulk, it becomes expensive. I don't know anyone who buys just ONE gallon of gas. Per gallon, gas is pretty cheap. At the convenience store down the street from me, a 16 oz. coffee is $1.75. There are 128 oz., or eight 16 oz. coffees, in a gallon. It would cost you $14 to buy a gallon of coffee. Unless you plan on buying exactly one gallon of each, gas is cheaper than coffee. It's stupid to assume that coffee is more expensive than gas simply because it would cost so much to fill your gas tank with it. ;\
