Muluck
If you could edit your memories, describe one or two that you would try to make clearer and more vivid. For me I would try to make my baby years more vivid. Because I no longer remember any glimpse of my past.

Brushfire
I could care less about my baby times. I'd make either my happiest memories perfectly clear, or I'd make my memories of when I lived in Telford clearer.

Not many people want to remember their past, but I do. I'm assuming Telford was a good place for you?

It asks if you could edit YOUR MEMORIES. Not theories or boos or plays of the actions of a president.

The way you guys are interpreting this question is so wrong. The question asks if you could edit your memories, describe one of two that you would try to make clearer and more vivid. There is two completely different parts to this question. The first tells you can edit your memories, the next says to describe one or two that you want to make more clear and more vivid. This means that the memories you have edited you can now make more clear and vivid, meaning you can live those newly edited memories. This question isn't about accepting the past, it is about fixing the past. ..I'm sorry, I get overwhelmed when I try to teach..
BehindTheMask
This is just like trying to alter the past homie. You see, a person is comprised of both conscious and unconscious desires. Changing what they remember, or what they think they remember, changes them. So, to alter a memory is to alter ones past, because memories are one's supposed past. You see, the mind is a great tool, but just like your body time starts to play a role. Memories are mental images of a world you once new, they fade over time, and not everything is remembered cleary to begin with so on top of that you have time decaying the clearness of your memories as well. Tomorrow I could witness a murder, I could remember the body of the murderer, the body of the killer, the day the time, how cold it was outside, how bright it was, my emotions at the time. But there is a factor you do not take into account, your anticipation, your fear, your reactions in that haste of the moment. These all change your original memory long before time has a chance to further temper with them. I would go on to explain more but I have to go run errands. I shall return. Mindscatter
I would not edit ANYTHING. It would be just lying myself. About vividness...I would like to have the ability to perfectly remember yesterday and people's faces, but nothing more. BTW just because humans discovered a way to erase memories (although it erases all memories, you cannot be selective), that does not mean we can do the opposite. Psychology has shown us that a group of people can see the exact same thing and yet, come up with different perspectives of what happened. When I say "the exact same thing", I mean, they were shown a video of the same car accident, from the same perspective. Shouldn't they have had the same memory of the car crash? I think not. I never said that each person would remember something the same way. Memories do form who you are, it is your interpretation of those events that forms who you are. In the end it all comes down to what we have learned over the years that help us interpret events from our passed.Without the past the future is irrelevant, but without the future the past means nothing. You can have your opinion that says if someone changes their memory it changes who they are, but I think nothing of that. For example, 9 years ago I had a dog named sassy, she jumped through a side window towards one of my friends who happened to be black. My dad put her down. Now I remember everything from that. I also now know why he did it, but if I were to forget it or edit it, who i am and how I think would not change in anyway.
