  1. 1. What do you say?

    • Evolution did happen and it's real
    • Evolution did not happen and it's not real

I just thought of another reason or just a fact how about evolution is bogus and real now what do you guys have to say now. Also I hate how the bible works it's like this "God saved our lives He saved our lives." It just capitzalizes pronouns even though it is against the rules of grammar.

You're still ignorant.

Silly me' date=' I forgot to show an example of adaptation.

So Monkey E can now swim and grip bananas, but when it's fur touches water, it explodes.

The monkey doesn't die from this, but it's left vulnerable to nature.

Over time, the monkey will reproduce, and offspring will adapt to this by "creating" fur that doesn't explode.

After series of reproductions, there will be a monkey who can swim, grip bananas and have fur that will not explode. Monkey H.

xD And I can deny as much as I please, I would just look like an imbecile in the eyes of those who agree to this upon it's fullest extent. But it doesn't really matter to me, because I'm a Christian SCIENTIST. xD

I apologize. I got pronoun confused with Proper Noun.

Let me explain why "He" is capitalized. When "He" is used as a reference to God, it is considered a Proper Noun, thus it is capitalized. Same goes with "Him" and "His". So no, it doesn't go against the rules of grammar.

It is very logical. As the environment changes animals need to change to meet the changing demands of the environment. As they change more and more they will eventually no longer be like the species they started as and would be classified as a different, new, species. They adapt and evolve. It's really simple and is very straightforward.

That's the same as 0.01 chance...

Anyway, I think it is possible, but only if the enviroment changes. And it happens very, very, very slowly.

I read the first page. I saw how it was irrelevant to evolution.

Creation of Universe =/= Evolution

But honestly, God created everything because the Bible said so and it's not like Christianity had ulterior motives besides preaching the word of God right? It's not like the religion turned into a major political power, made alot of money, or even controlled the masses during the post-classical era. No, it just preached God.

Back on topic. Things change to meet the standard of the new environment. This isn't pokemon kids, Mudkip isn't going to become bipedal in a few seconds, it will take many many many generations for it to happen. So let us pull out an example Darwin used.

We have a colony of thousands of birds. They are all the same bird. Each bird is used to eating worms, and thus has a long and narrow beak to eat worms. We seperate them into four groups. We put all four groups on a different island.

Island 1 only has large nuts. Thus, the birds who have stronger beaks and experiment with the new food source will live and mate. The others will die. Thus, over the course of many years, evolution states that these birds will develop beaks that are more suitable for crushing and eating nuts, unlike their previous beaks.

Island 2 has worms. The birds are already adapted to eat worms, so they do not change except for maybe some plumage or something to adapt to a new environment, but their beaks will be the same.

Island 3 has small critters like rats and rabbits. The birds are not suited for rats or rabbits. If a few experiment and consume the meat, evolution states that these ones will survive and develop beaks and talons suitable for rending flesh.

Island 4 is inhabited by humans. The humans enjoy the taste of the new bird. Assuming the humans will selectively breed the birds for larger quantities of meat, it can be assumed that they are killing off the smaller birds and letting the larger ones live. Thus, throughout many generations, said birds will be fatter than previous ones.

1, 3, and 4 are all examples of natural selection. Island 1 and 3 birds develop new beaks and traits to survive on their islands. Island 4 birds are selectively bred by humans, thus inducing natural selection. In each case, the ones most adapted to the environment are the ones who survive and pass on traits to their offspring. Island 2 birds did not need to change, and thus did not.

This is a more realistic example than Dark's exploding monkeys, but it serves the same purpose. Over time, creatures will adapt to new environments and pass down their traits to their offspring. This happens in many places in society and is evident even in plants. Humans only wanted large and sweet strawberries, so no one knows about their smaller and more sour original form. Farmers have selectively bred the larger and sweeter strawberries to the point of modern strawberries.

Thus, it can be concluded that evolution is totally logical and has happened, and is happening.

No one knows for sure. You can never 100% prove something happened billions of years ago. (Whatever little evidence there may be.)

Although I am a Christian, I know that the Bible's purpose isn't to prove science wrong. The topic of evolution isn't discussed until, well, the 19th century.

So, to answer your question, it's possible, but there is no way of knowing for sure.

So bizlions of years ago the Earth' date=' by chance, popped out of nowhere and life came from a cell, then mud, then fish, then birds, then monkeys and finally a human being who knows about life and death (Unlike animals or any other creature) and are the smartest creatures alive who build and explore the world?

Given time - say, billions and billions of years - and given a habitable planet, life WILL evolve. An inevitability. Something like playin' roulette as many times as you want, still bettin' on the same number, till you win.

God made evolution. The bible leaves out details. D:

I now have the choice of laughing at your attempt to shore up an unprovable - and, further to the point, weak - argument; or smirking at your attempting to make the Judeo-Christian God into a bumbling, rickety inventor.

(Can I blame God for old age? Now? NOW?)

Well, you can think what you want, or you can have the best of both worlds. If I pick both sides, then I don't lose, do I?

The Bible is God's word. You'd think that an omniscient being would know that his words will eventually be misinterpreted or people will question him' date=' and would take measures to make his holy book more clear.

Ehh, I tried to add humor. Didn't work too well.

Essentially, what I was trying to prove is that evolution is comprised of reproduction and adaptation. You cannot deny that reproduction exists, nor can you deny that adaptation exists. So how is it just that you can deny that evolution exists?

Imho... There's one great way to prove evolution...

Stick to a species that has an OK lifespan' date=' (like a fly). And put it in its ideal enviorment for 20-100yrs. Constantly maintain it and introduce new things as time arises. ie: Biodome.

So that 1 flys life = Human Life of a Human. 2 weeks = 100yrs for a fly?

That would mean that 1 human year = 5200yrs.

100 yrs = 520'000yrs.

More than enough to sustain evolution and see the results. Problem is maintaining it.

But, it could prove Evolution in a visual state as it's happening.

[/quote']

Anyone care to disprove this as an effective way to prove evolution exists?

People argue that God made all the creatures' date=' and there is no such thing as evolution. However, perhaps God put some creatures on Earth, and waited to see what they would do. If they would stay the same or change dramatically.

We'll never know for sure. Not like we have a time machine.

[/quote']

So, in the Bible, it obviously states that God did not create humans. It also states that I am an idiot for thinking that, and God created unicellular organisms and set a path for them to evolve. And the reason God did not specify in the Bible is because he lacks the time to do so, as he was busy coding the genetic material.

What a coherent and well-thought out theory. You know, maybe God really does exist. And maybe the Bible is a non-fiction book. Wow, I've been thinking wrong for awhile now! Thank you so much, LYoshi.

Nobody cares to because can be, and has been, done.

Another great example is selective breeding. (Of dogs and horses, for example.)

Evolution is a central tenet of many fundamental sciences and techniques used around the world today. Denying it is like denying that your car works or denying that the black box in your living room that has people trapped inside isn't magical.

It would seem that nobody is contesting this further, thus this thread is rather useless and should probably be closed.
