Magical Dimension' date=' Special Summon Water to draw two and pop a monster, since Water is mandatory and can't miss the timing. Better yet, pop your own Light and get a second Water to draw four. f*** yeah, I'd do it.

If you Special Summon "Dark Magician of Chaos" with "Magical Dimension", then decide to destroy 1 monster on the field, then you will NOT get the effect of "Dark Magician of Chaos" because it misses the timing. If you choose not to destroy a monster, however, then his effect will activate.

doesnt work bro, same ruling.

Dark Magician of Chaos:

When this card is Normal or Special Summoned, you can select and add 1 Spell Card from your Graveyard to your hand. Monsters this card destroys by battle are removed from play instead of going to the Graveyard. If this face-up card is destroyed or removed from the field, it is removed from play.

This is an example of an "Optional Trigger Effect", meaning that you CAN activate it when it's condition is met, though it if you choose to do something after that, or should the timing occur in the middle of a chain or card's resolution wherein the condition to active is NOT the last thing to happen, you lose your chance to activate such an effect.

Fortune Lady Water

This card's ATK and DEF are equal to its Level x 300. During each of your Standby Phases, increase the Level of this card by 1 (max 12). When this card is Special Summoned while you control a face-up "Fortune Lady" monster except "Fortune Lady Water", draw 2 cards.

This is an example of a "Mandatory Trigger Effect", meaning that you DO activate it's effect, whether you like it or not. Because the effect of the monster is REQUIRED to activate immediately upon the next available opportunity after it's condition is met, the effect cannot miss the timing and becomes Chain Link 1 on a new chain to be resolved upon the resolution of any effects on the current chain.

Another example of a "Mandatory Trigger Effect" is 'Sangan', who, even if tributed for the Tribute Summon of another "Mandatory Trigger Effect Monster", like 'Caius the Shadow Monarch', who's effect is forced to activate upon it's summon, will not lose it's timing and will resolve as Chain Link 1 of a chain to be formed after the current chain with the effect of 'Caius the Shadow Monarch''s effect.

By comparison, a card such as 'Pinch Hopper', who states that you can perform the action of Special Summoning an Insect-Type Monster when it is sent to the Graveyard, will lose the timing, because the last thing in the chain to happen is 'Caius the Shadow Monarch' removing a targeted card, or inflicting 1000 damage to the opponent's Life Points, depending on the removed card.

Because 'Magical Dimension' has the secondary option of destroying 1 monster on the field, you are left to choose if the Special Summon of 'Dark Magician of Chaos' is the last action to be performed or not, allowing you to select whether or not the timing is lost, however, because 'Fortune Lady Water' states that it will activate, not can activate, you will draw 2 cards regardless of what happens after the Special Summon of 'Fortune Lady Water'.

If you would be so kind as to remove your "expertise", or lack thereof, from future incidents of this nature, I would be highly pleased, seeing as you are obviously a poor player with no grasp of the game outside of sheepishly following the statements of others without understanding the logic behind them, preventing you from making an accurate synopsis of the situation.

Good day, sir.

Sorry Wolf but Knight is right, Water effect goes off no matter what. The only Lady that misses the timing if you choose to destroy a monster with Magical Dimension is Light as its optional and the whole "when...you can" ruling. Also the tribute for Magical Dimension is part of the effect and not a cost because it reads "tribute 1 monster AND summon 1 spellcaster type monster from your hand" so I would get Light's effect if I tribute her and choose not to destroy a monster.

So lets say I have Light and Fire on the field and I play Magical Dimension to tribute Light and summon Water from my hand. I will draw 2 cards no matter what. If I choose to destroy a monster I will miss the timing for Lights effect, if I choose not to Light's effect will activate and I summon a Lady from my deck....So lets recap...I just got two new cards to in my hand and a 3rd monster on the field thanks to Dimension...that's pretty epic to me.

Im lazy but I'll try to give a basic run down or what the deck aims to do.

The draw engine has insane potential its pretty much +1 and +2 with Water and Dark, CS and Fortune Future helps control the grave for DaD, Fortune Future can also refuel the grave for DaD while letting me draw as well, its pretty much a +1.

Future Visions helps with Lights effect while slowing down my opponent

I like this decklist' date=' but say I didn't want to run Dark Armed or Allure, what could I run in their place?

[/quote']

Whatever you want, since you're the player in question. Just because you're broke doesn't mean we can start popping off suggestions of replacements of cards that have literally no equal. Dark Armed Dragon is like $30, and Allure is like $4. Seriously.
