tl;dr version:they are boss.

Serving and praying to those who are in need 24/7

(I'm not talking about the nun you see in a movie where they are useless)

[i'm talking about those nuns who are win.]

So here is the cool story:

I went to one of these places called Missionaries of Charity.

These nuns were total boss. Coolest people I've met thus far.

They travel each time in life to different portions of the earth that are pretty bad. Out of the whole neighborhood where cars are left on bricks, this place stands firm, untouched...

So I heard cool stories from them as well when there was a break in between serving breakfast and Lunch. (People are soo agressive :/ I can't believe the volunteers would be such pussies. So there are these two guys fighting in the luncheon and no one felt like breaking them apart. Nun comes in and kicks them out. BANNED, Bit(h.)

So a cool story from a cool nun:

This one nun was driving one night in this town called Liberty City. Her car broke down and there was practically no light in the area. This hoodie comes up and wants to mug her or whatever (her Spanish was fast), and she makes him halt. "Do not move, for I carry with me a gun."

The guy calls b.s. (biggest mistake lol)

Nun pulls out a gun (she later shows all the volunteers from her pocket-I was like 0_o...you haz gun) and then has the guy sheet bricks out of his pants. She then proposes that he should ask her if she needed help with her car. The guy then reluctantly helps.

So I don't put you to sleep-long story short-nun is boss. You cannot win boss. Boss win you.

Discuss NUN.

Over 4,500 sisters and active in 133 countries.

Members of the order designate their affiliation using the order's initials, "MC." (MC being Missionaries of Charity) Member nuns must adhere to the vows of chastity, poverty and obedience, and the fourth vow, to give "Wholehearted and Free service to the poorest of the poor".

It takes nine years to become a fully fledged member(mod). For one year, candidates become "come-and-see's." (n00bs)

At first, potential Sisters (wanna-be mods) work as assistants in Shishu Bhavan and Nirmal Hriday, tending to the patients there.

After one year, if the young women still wish to join and are still considered candidates, they choose religious names and begin to study. They study scriptures, Constitutions of Society, church history, and theology.

If they aren't from English-speaking countries, they learn to speak it.

Novices (noobs) wear white saris without the three blue stripes.

After two years, they take vows, and renew them after the fourth and after the fifth years. They also receive the blue striped sari.

In the sixth year, they travel to Rome, or Calcutta, for a year in deep spiritual growth.

A Sister's possessions include:

Three saris (one to wear, one to wash, one to mend)

A pair of sandals

Flour sack underclothes

A crucifix and rosary

A plate and metal spoon

A canvas bag

Prayer book

In cold countries, possessions also include a cardigan.

They never wear anything but sandals on their feet.
