@Kuro

while riding' date=' if they stand still they can shoot at up to 200 yards but they are mounted warriors only, so that won't happen.

@820

not if they are trained to shoot in the armor. See the mongols for an example.

Well, their arrows are downhill, so the accuracy HAS to be a bit off.

Hold on, posting more general info.

You do realize that during their horse's run, their aim will be drastically off right? Especially if they have to shoot uphill.

Let's see....

Their men are better, we are outnumbered, there is NO ambush cover, and apparently our only advantage is the fact we have leverage since we have set up on the hill.

We dig a trench that is 15 feet down, and make a stone wall that is 15 feet high around the moat, quite close together. We put our extra spears and stick them into the ground of the moat, so that when they try to break through the wall, they fall into the pit, and get stabbed. This will, however, be a last resort.

We set up small stone platforms at different corners of the wall for archers, and not only do they fire, they report where they are planning to break in. So, once they do end up breaking the wall, and the spears run out, we keep the soldiers and pikemen down in the ditch, and once they cross the moat, they run into the cavalry.

As for the archers, well, I don't know what to do about them. I guess the archers should aim for the archers.

Guest Uchiha Itachi

You are leading an army of 150,000 soldiers

10,000 are lightly armored Calvary, armed with short swords, light lances, and a buckler

10,000 are heavily armored Pikemen, armed with Pikes, Spears, and hand crossbows

30,000 are Archers, armed with shortbows and 300 arrows each

100,000 are Men-at-arms, armed with long swords, and medium sheilds

Your enemy commands an army of 250,000 soldiers

175,000 are heavly armored calvary, armed with short sowrds, heavy lance, mace, and shortbows. Carries 150 arrows each.

75,000 are lightly armored Infantry, armed with a mixture of pikes and bastard swords.

Enemy calvary can shoot foes accuratly at 100 yards while riding.

Your battlefield is on a open hill (i.e. No cover of ambushes). The area is a magic dead zone (i.e. no magic). Your charged with holding your position even in the face of defeat. Your troop morale is high due to a surplus of supplies but you will run out within 9 weeks. No help will arrive, you are alone. Your army is not trained to dig and sits at the top of the hill with the enemy surrounding its base from a safe distance.

well first i would stratigteicly place the archers around the hill to pluck off the advancing warriors. then while that is happening the pikemen willl stay back at the top of the in defence while the cavalry and men at arms at arms attack the enemy down hill
