Prejudice

Brushfire

I'll provide another example, as most of my threads like this do.

[spoiler=tl;dr warning]When I was about 4, I lived in a Council 3-bed house (with my mum, my dad and 2 brothers- one who is 4 years older than me and the other 3 years younger than me). We saved up and got a mortgage on a huge 3-bed house with a Dining Room and HUGE garden (was really great, led all the way up past the curve at the end of the road and to one my friends' houses) about 200 miles away. We lived there until I was about 7 and then my mum and dad broke up.

As it was my dad's house, he stayed there while we left and went back to our old town and lived with my Nan. Because of this, there was mum, my older brother, myself and my little brother living with my Nan in a 2-bed flat. Cramped much? As the Council is fucking stupid they had no intention of moving us as we had only just got put back on their list. My older brother then went back and lived with my dad. After a month or two (maybe more, I'm not sure) my mum contacted one of her friends and we moved into her 5-bed, 3-floor house and lived with their family. My mum ended up dating one of the people that was living there as his best mate was dating my mum's friend (and that man is my step-dad to date).

After about a month, the Council pretty much chucked us in a B&B while they found us a placement. We were there for a while, and although it was a bit cramped it was alright there. I had to get a bus to school, but we were near the beach and the town. After OH GOD FINALLY, the Council sent my mum a letter saying they had found us somewhere. A two-bed flat in my current road, which had a bad reputation at the time. I've never had any trouble here though and all the people that would cause trouble had grown up by the time we moved in, pretty much.

So that was from when I was around 7-8, to now (I'm 15). Not too long after we moved in my older brother had had enough of living with my dad and moved back down and lived with my nan for a while. Eventually my nan had enough of what he was like (living with my dad who was too busy with work to care for him kinda screwed him up) so he moved in with us. So since I've been 8, I've been forced to share a room with my extremely annoying little brother, and my older brother. He is now 19, YES 19 AND HE'S STILL LIVING HERE- WITH HIS FUCKING GIRLFRIEND! Despite the fact that she and her brother have now got a place that he could easily move into, but doesn't as he hates her dad and doesn't want him bothering them and they don't have the balls to say anything to him.

So after all these years we've reached the top 5 on the Council's list and should be finally getting a new place. I'm hoping so badly that we get a 3-bed house and then my older brother moves out so I can have my own room and finally get what I deserve. I'm sick to death of all the prejudice and discrimination I get for living in a Council flat. Part of me is still used to living in our old big house with the huge garden, but apparently life doesn't work that way and I'm viewed as another poor person who can't afford to buy their own house.

This is actually a really good thread but... I just don't find it interesting.

(And its hard to discuss about it since you've already proved your point in the story.)

You round about summed up almost every one of my threads on YCM lol.

And.. I guess I was waiting for someone to come in and try and call me wrong, I guess. xD

So you're sharing your room three other people, two of them your brothers(that sucks), and one of them a girl who your not related to(fail to see why this is bad.)

But yeah that sucks dude. I have hard time believing people would actually discriminate you because you're poor, but then again there are some really twisted people out there.

You can't say 2+2 isn't 4. You just can't.

How does your story have anything to do with prejudice?

Read it again without looking at pr0n at the same time.

I'm not interested in my older brother's girlfriend. At all. >_>

And lol, apparently you don't know what people in my town are like.

I read it. Twice. Both times' date=' I felt it was life, and no one was prejudice in the story.

You're an idiot.

Get a disability and you get shoved to the top. My friend didn't have to wait long for a place after he was thrown out of his flat (he was completely homeless), he has Bipolar so was moved to near the top.

Ignore the idiots who pick on you, what do they know after all?

Or you could have your sister and her two kids temporarily move in with you, get to the top, get a 3-bed house. And then after a month she can go back to where she lived and the Council can't do sheet about you living there. That's what some woman down the road I live in did.

And they are just stupid, it annoys me just because I was actually a higher social class than them at one point. >_>
