radio414
"..."That was the worst attempt at avoiding a duel. Ever."I'm not going to hold a full scale debate with you on the morales of dueling. I don't even care that you got unlucky with a bad draw. I don't even know the matchup of your two decks. I don't know if you could pull out a win in a lose-lose situaion. What I do know is that you are a coward who only duels kids half his size, and that any particular duelist whose half decent comes up and challenges you, you just sit down and close your eyes!"That had attracted the attention of the crowd. There was no turning back. If he declined, he would get the reputation he deserved: A Coward. Should he accept, he would receive the biggest loss of his life. Hydra of Ages
Valant blinked when he noticed a sizeable crowd gathering together in one part of the street, and sauntered over to get a look at what the big deal was. He raised his eyebrow upon noticing two duelists, one a tallish guy with black hair that looked around his own age, and the other a familiar blue-haired fifteen year old he was personally acquainted with. "Hey Selene." he said, tipping his hat at the crowd to let him through and walking up casually to the unlikely pair. "This guy giving you trouble?" he said with a chuckle and hint of a smirk, tipping his hat towards the dark-haired male that was apparently sleeping or else clothing his eyes. radio414
She knew everyone could hear her when she said this. In fact, she made sure of it."Oh, only if you call cowardice trouble. Otherwise, no, I have it under control. Really, it's just a moral debate, anyways. His mother must be so proud, though, because her son is right here, falling asleep in the face of a decent challenge."The crowd was chanting for a duel now. There was no way he was going to refuse. Magnet Soldier
That was it. He stood up and started choking her. "Don't you dare talk about my family. If you really want to know they died when I was a child, I don't even remember their faces. If you want a duel don't insult me like that. I was tired. Do you want to know how many people I have dueled today? 27, not including that little boy I just faced. So shut your mouthy littlde gob and scram." He whispered in her ear before dropping her. Then he just walked away.
radio414
Selene smirked, and turned to Valant."Ahh, well, I've dueled 30, and still not tired. In fact, a friendly match would be nice. Wanna duel? I know your not a coward like he was, and a battle of words never runs parallel to a battle of the cards. I don't care if you deny, though. He insulted Lady Luck, and I know how much you and I love her."
Magnet Soldier
Kris went to look for some place to sleep for the night. He hadn't slept for days and it was starting to show. He walked in side the nearest hotel, a rundown place with no running water and not much clean food, and asked, "You got any decent but reasonably priced rooms I can stay in?" While rubbing his eyes. He yawned as he was being led there and as soon as he got there he jumped on the sofa for a nap.
Bringerofcake
When Kris was led into the room, there was Gedrik, lying on the other bed, reading the same sappy novel he'd read at least five times before. He looked over and saw Kris and looked him over. He read some concealed anger and some unconcealed fatigue. A bit of surprise too... "Ah, excellent. You've arrived. Get some sleep. We need to wait for BJ anyway. He's late." OOC: Btw, Eclipse is meeting at the hotel. So, Brodioh, get your character over here.
Brodioh
Tired from all the duels he had had Bj Barely remembered that Eclipse was having a meeting. He quickly rushed to the Hotel And Went Up the elevator And He was shown the him had to go to. "Sorry I Can't believe I am late. I was just so tired from all the dueling I had to do." BJ explained. Bringerofcake
"Well, seeing as how I'm the only one who isn't tired (probably because of the fact that I haven't dueled at all today), I'll give the bed to you. Go ahead and sleep. I'll keep an eye out. This is a hotel after all. They expect their guests to sleep."As he left the bed, Gedrik stole a glance out the window. Everything seemed peaceful enough (by that I mean there was no one there). He leaned against the wall and began to wait, one of the few things he thought he was good at. OOC: quinokpo, I haven't got my card yet still.
Magnet Soldier
"Sure, thanks. It seems I'm the first so and I'm really tired so I'm just going to rest my eyes." Kris said, sitting up on the sofa to answer then lying down again. He was just going to wait here like this and wait for the door to open, he wasn't acually going to go to sleep. He dropped his dueldisk on the floor next to him, closed his eyes and listened.
Hydra of Ages
Valant chuckle."Well Selene, you know how I'd always be willing to do a friendly match. 'Cept I kinda have something to do at the moment, so mind taking a rain check for the time being?" he said, tweaking his hat a little. radio414
"No, I don't mind," Selene knew it would be foolish to call Valant a coward "I have something to do anyway. I'll hold you to that rain check, though." Selene the walked away. She needed a police station. Preferably one with guns.
Hydra of Ages
Valant chuckled. "Later, Sel." he said with a grin and a tip of his hat, before he continued down his path. There was someone in particular he wanted to meet, someone he had some business with. He continued walking until he was in the worst of the city. The city itself wasn't a particularly bright beacon of development, but most of it was at least clean; Not true here. Shopping cart scraps and plastic baggies littered the streets, where the only cars to drive down were either missing key components, had tinted-black windows, or belonged to members of the mafia. Most people would be afraid of wandering in a place like this. Valant knew quite well that others would be afraid of him in such an area. He leaned against a factory silo door, as he listened for the tell-tale tapping, moving onto the next one to listen for the same. Eventually, upon hearing what he wanted, he pulled the gritty door open with ease, revealing three humans, grubby and ratlike as they ran from the light (and from him), before he grabbed one of them by the greasy locks. "Morning." he said cheerily. "Wouldn't know where I could find the Rat, would you?"
radio414
Selene looked at the formal sign. No decorations, no obnoxious colors, just a sign. A black sign with white lettering.Underneath a streetlight, she read:PoliceNice. Time to catch him, and break him.She walked into the main office."Excuse me."No response. She could hardly blame him, he was sleeping. Selene then noticed the nearby bellhop bell, and so, she pressed it. Ding The policeman awoke, "Ahh... How may I help you?""What is the court definition of assault?"She figured that she could find the coward by describing the choke hold he had given her."Why, yes, I believe that is assault."A smirk formed on Selene's lips. She then proceeded to describe the coward: "...and he used a card called Cyber Kuriboh when I last saw him. Call me at this number when you find him."***A little later, she was outside again, searching for Valant.
Hydra of Ages
Valant whistled as he broke down the flimsy door of a diapolated old building. Once again, the homeless, scrawny humans that infested it like cockroaches scurried at his entrance, but Valant only payed mind to one, grabbing him by his grubby coat. While he tried to wriggle free, Valant quickly overtook him with a quick kick to the back, causing him to twitch a little before looking up grimly. Valant smiled at him and tipped his hat. "Mornin' Rat. Now, I, uh, am not sure if you recall, but there's a little matter of a debt you owe me... some paltry sum of money, I forget..." Rat, if possible, got paler beneath his dirt-marked face. "L-look, M-mister Vincent, I-I'll g-get the m-money, I w-will... jus' n-need time, that's all..." he said while trying to scurry away. Valant quickly blocked his path, and with a quick motion, pointed his handgun at him. "Oh, well, that's disappointing..." Valant said with a grim chuckle. "Because, see, I've come to collect NOW, so unless you can come up with the money..." Grim squealed and covered himself. "No! Really! Please, mercy!" he cried. Valant rolled his eyes. "Cut the crap, Rat. I know what you're hiding. A little birdy told me you know where I can find... a certain card." he said with a twinkle in his eye. "A certain card that I may be interested in, if you catch my drift." Rat shifted nervously and glanced around. "I... might have an inkling what you're talking about..." he muttered. radio414
Selene found herself in the worst part of the city. Why? Because, she reasoned, Valant is always in the worst part of the city. Especially at night. She hoped that tonight was no exception. While looking around, she was assaulted again. She fought back. She proceeded to do the following to the would be attacker. Disable the vocal cords of the assailant, so no screaming, and quickly send a bunny punch to the head. While recoiling backwards, they expose the groin, so place a kick there, and when starting to bend over, a standing kick to the solar plexus. Threat neutralized.*** (OoC: Yes, I just saw the Sherlock Holmes movie.)Later, after extensive search, she found the dirtiest house in the area, and heard shouting. One voice was unfarmilliar, but one can never miss Valant's voice. She stood next to the door, and waited. She didn't want to interrupt anything. Magnet Soldier
Kris actually fell asleep now. He 'woke up' in the dream on the floor of an alley with a bottle of vodka in his hand and he was feeling dizzy and drunk. I haven't had a drop of alcohol in 2 years, why am I feeling drunk? Kris thought. Then another voice chipped in. It said, "You feel drunk because you want to be. You feel like your in hell because your life has been hell. If your life is terrible you feel terrible, if your life is great you feel great." Kris was confused and asked, "What do you mean? What are you? How can you tell what I'm thinking?" No response. All Kris saw was a strange black light, which he knew was impossible. It was pitch black and yet so bright he couldn't look directky at it. Then the dark light started growing and growing. It touched his skin and Kris fainted. Inside of his head was immense screaming like the screams of the planet dying. He didn't know what it meant but he knew he had to do something. He was about to stand up when he saw his life, every second. He screamed. Kris woke up, terrified. He stopped himself from actually screaming. Was that just a dream? He asked himself. He then asked Gedrik, "Has BJ arrived yet?"
Hydra of Ages
Valant continued his conversation with Rat for a while, receiving the information he had came for from the grubby-clothed man. While you shouldn't trust much that Rat or any of the other Sneaks that lived in the town said, Rat was a simple exception when it came to information, if you could get him to give it up. He had a very noticeable physical tick he did when he lied; he squirmed and shook, sweating barrels, like one might expect of a rat; hence his name, paired with his home and existence in the lesser parts of town.Still, since he realized he couldn't get away with a lie, he was rather well known among the Sneaks for giving useful, viable information for relatively cheap prices. Valant was simply lucky that the sneak still owed him money from a small favor done a while back. He walked out of the home satisfied with his information, and Rat breathing a sigh of relief that his head wasn't going to be blown off by the scary man. He smirked when he noticed Selene nearby. "Evenin' Sel. Odd place for a midnight stroll, don't you think?" he chuckled. "Plus, there's plenty of greedy hands looking for a pretty little thing like you. Though I figure you can look after yourself most of the time."
radio414
"Yeah, usually I take care of myself." Selene replied, "Remember that guy that fell asleep during my challenge? When he was choking me, I saw the eclipse symbol on his jacket. That's why you saw me smirking when he ran away. I reported him to the athorities, but they'll never find him, you know what the police are like these days. I just wanted to let you know that I'm going to be where he was last time until I find him. You're the only person I can trust these days."Selene then proceeded to walk away.
Bringerofcake
"He;s here, all right. But he's asleep too. Honestly, you two need to lay low. I wouldn't be surprised if Twilight came knocking at our door right now." Even as he said that, Gedrik didn't mean any of it, and he knew they knew he didn't. He loved dueling just as much as they did, and his fatigue was starting to get to him. Staying up all night didn't help, either.
Magnet Soldier
"Well, I'm awake now so might aswell stay awake." Kris said, walking over to the fridge. He pulled out an empty milk bottle. "Haven't been paying the milk man?" Kris asked, waving the bottle. "Have you got any thing to drink? I'm parched. I'll have you a duel after I've had a drink." Hydra of Ages
"Police? What Police?" Valant chuckled. "They're just a myth, you know. Neva' seen 'em with my own two eyes, so I figure they're just an old wives' tale." He chuckled more as she walked away and played with his firearm, flicking the chambers, taking aim at random debris along the path and doing a couple maneuvers despite himself. He chuckled, stifled another yawn, and holstered the gun.
