Alright, you're now accepted! And with that, I do believe we're ready to start. So, I'll go ahead and make the first post.

Far above the city of Hitotoki, in a resturant contained within it's highest building, an elderly man sat at a table, a freshly cooked steak placed in front of him, the scent of the meat drifting up into his abnormally large nose. Taking up his fork and knife, the man cut a small piece of meat off and placed it in his mouth, closing his eyes and savouring it for a moment before swallowing, taking the napkin from his coat and dabbing at his mouth before placing it down next to his plate. Placing both his elbows on the table, he folded his hands ontop of each other and supported his nose on them. Opening his eyes, he starred out at the small group seated infront of his table.

"Welcome, to the Velvet Room." he said with a somewhat surprisingly soft voice, while taking one hand from under his nose and motioning around the room.

The resturant that the man identified as the Velvet Room was quite accuratly named. Every surface that one could cover in dark blue velvet was, and anything not covered in velvet appeared to be made out of such fine quality glass that it glowed a pale green.

"My name is Igor, I am the Proprietor of the Velvet Room." Igor explained, "This is a place only accessable to a select few, those who have signed a Contract, or those who are destined to. I have no record of any of you signing a Contract, and yet you are here. This must be Fate, most certainly." Igor reached up a hand and snapped his fingers, signalling a young woman with light blonde hair who had been sitting in a corner unnoticed to come forth and place a small red book on the table, opening it to a blank page, "That you are here must mean you have something to accomplish. If you would like our services in whatever Trial is to come, please, sign. But know this, by the contract I will aid you, but your choices are your own, and you must always face the Consequences."

Selene was at The Velvet Room. She was not really interested in the contract Igor was offering at the moment. She was more confused on how she got to the place. The last thing she remembered was getting in a fight, and getting knocked out.

 

Selene sighed. She was prone to getting into fights. She knew that she needed to avoid them, but they seemed to be part of her personality. A thought came into her preoccupation. What if, by signing this contract, she could change this negative stain on her life?

 

Regarding the piece of paper with newfound interest, Selene was about to sign the paper, when a third and hopefully final question. How do I know I can trust this man? Feeling that it wasn't proper to sign to quickly, nor until her last question was answered, Selene remained at her place in the Velvet Room.

 

She also didn't like the thought of this man predicting consequnces and trials. Other than her rare outbursts, Selene thought that she was quite an optimist. The definite element of Igor's rant about this contract made her uneasy. Still, she waited, not exiting through the nearby door.

Miss Leto Featherheart had saved a great deal from her street performances, she was starving, but for once, instead of living off cheap fast food, Leto would be eating a high-class meal. She climbed the final stair to the velvet room with a happy smile. She entered the room and waited for service.

Looking around the room he noticed that there wern't many customers. The apparent proprietor of the restruant seemed slightly odd in appearance, but Leto honestly couldn't care, she simply wanted her meal.

Preoccupied with her own thoughts, Selene was zoned out until some circus performer walked in. She looked tired, and wasn't apparently paying much attention to Igor, but Selene still took a little pity on her. While she was off at school, this woman probably was performing out in the streets. Not that either of them were noticed by the public, but still. Why would someone let a woman like this starve?

 

Turning back to Igor, and the contract he offered, Selene made up her mind. She took the quill, and with a quivering touch, she signed her name in velvet ink on the first dotted line. She hoped that by doing so, she could erase her own stain on her personality, but more importantly, she decided to face the consequences of her actions. Just like her normal fights at home and at school.

 

Now that Selene had sat back down, she became a little inpatient. Checking her watch, she realized that it wasn't working. Not knowing what time it was, nor knowing what she had to do next, Selene decided to stay in the luxorious restaurant.

Just another day was going by in the city of Hitotoki, and it was another school day for Kailyn. She was walking from school to home, humming to herself along the way. As she passed through an alley, she happened to recall recent rumors. Apparantly some kids had gone missing in this area..."It can't be a mere coincidence..." She thought to herself. as she surveyed the area. After some time, she noticed that something felt...Malicious...but wasn't quite sure what. She bolted for home, realizing that at the moment she was nothing without a weapon...

"Ah, our first signer, thank you very much madam." Igor said, turning to a new blank page for the next person who might sign, "I should tell you now that none of you are truely here, including you," Igor said, turning his head to Leto, "Currently I am communicating to you through your dreams. And you may not be the last to visit this place before the night is over. For now though, I will ask this, who will sign next?" he said, motioning again the the contract.

 

A young boy next to Selene suddenly reached out, taking the pen and signing the contract. He had messy black hair which was pushed over his ears, each of which held an iPod bud.

"This seems...interesting, to say the least...I'm in...so, what's this 'Trial', you keep talking about?" he asked Igor.

 

"Oh, all in due time my good fellow. Once all those who come here tonight have signed the contract, I will tell you why I believe you were gathered here tonight."

Leon was sitting in a chair at the Velvet Room, he was not interested in that Igor was speaking, but heard all he had to say. He quickly signed the contract, a few seconds after a girl. He heard another boy asking a question to Igor, Leon did not realize that Igor had not explained almost nothing. After the question, he was waited of the answer. After Igor answered, Leon felt a chill, as if something bad was about to happen.

And back to the waiting game. However, Selene now had something to ponder. She was really trapped inside her own mind right now? And, if so, how were these other people with her. Were they all dreaming the same dream? That was impossible, she decided, and figured that this was her dream to be experiencing, and these other people were just part of her imagination.

 

These people, though, they seemed so lifelike! If this were a dream, then she should not be able to just possibly reach out and touch them. And, she reasoned, she would not be able to feel it. However, she did feel it when the boy next to her brushed her. Because of this, she realized that this room, and all that were in it, were just people, trapped inside their own subconcious, like Igor had said. She now had a new respect for Igor. If you messed with him, he could possibly destroy your subconcious and leave you helpless in some insomnia-like state.

It was getting late, and Kailyn finally came to the front door of the Dorm she was staying in. She bolted to her room and locked the door. if the shadows come, i'll be able to fight this time... she thought. She grabbed her Kendo stick from the side of her wall.

Kailyn lay in bed, sleeping away. As her consiousness faded, her mind shifted to the thoughts of Shadows...

 

Next thing she knew, she was in a room...it looked blue all over, and some people were there too. An old man with a large nose was sitting in a couch...
