Guest Chaos Pudding
I mean' date=' seriously? You enjoy not knowing? I can't respect anyone who doesn't attempt to rid themselves of ignorance whenever they possibly can.[/quote'] Like the fact that people have the right to choose what they want to learn? If they don't learn, then they lose the right to enter the discussion and have their opinion be taken seriously. Who said anything about a discussion? You stated that you hate people who are ignorant. You did not specify the time nor place, nor any other circumstance other than the fact that they have not saw fit to correct their ignorance. Therefore leading me to state the obvious, for each person has the right to learn what he or she wants. If he or she does not enter themselves into a situation rendering the knowledge that they are so ignorant of, then you have no reason to hate such a situation. How else would I know that a person is ignorant or not unless that person started spewing his or her uninformed opinions while I and others were having a legitimate discussion? If they don't let me know, how can I be upset? After reading much of the thread banter I have only one thing to say. Intelligence is a great gift that can make life great or miserable. But' date=' one cannot loathe those who are "stupid/unintelligent/not knowledgeable/ignorant" because although it is great, intelligence is [b']NOT[/b] the epitome of existence. It is many times overstated as far as its significance or even in its pros/cons. I don't feel that the purpose of life (if any) is solely to acquire knowledge. Everyone is ignorant in some fashion. That is a core principle of life, and it will always be that way... Intelligence is not the same as knowledge. Not everyone is intelligent in the same ways, but everyone has the potential to be knowledgeable. And, as I've said before, I know that everyone is ignorant in some way or another; it is impossible to know everything, after all. But to raise your ignorance up on a pedestal, making it into something to be admired? That's just disappointing, and it makes me upset that there are people who would do such a thing. Lazer Yoshi
In America, everyone has the right to speak. However, it seems as if people also don't need to listen to what others have to say.Intelligence can be extremely helpful, but can sometimes be destructive. There's a movie called "Charly". It's a pretty good example of this.

You neglected to mention the circumstances pertaining to the situation, therefore one could only assume your were generalizing in your spewing of hatred. Which only left room for me to ask and put forth a response using the information you gave me, along with asking for more.It would be a wise decision to give all the information required before speaking your mind. Maybe run it through your head a couple of times, so that the end result doesn't make you sound like a jackass. No harm intended.

I know that intelligence and knowledge are two different things. But my point is, people seem to "relish" in their ignorance because they know that one cannot know everything, and they accept it and are proud of it. They aren't going to mope around or be angry because they are ignorant in certain areas. There is sometimes excitement in the unknown. I know ignorance can be painful and at many times exasperating, but you can't loathe someone simply because they don't know what you know, or don't care about what you know.
