Programming/Coding Motivation

If you're reading from a book, use an online tutorial instead. From my experiences, that tends to keep you interested. I've tried C++, and while I only managed to do the most basic things, I found it a very boring language. (I suggest As2/3 instead.)

If anything' date=' I would suggest using Ruby, as it is a programming language with similar capabilities to C++, but much easier to learn.

But if you're looking for motivation, just listen to Brushfire.

Funny you should mention that, because I've considered learning Ruby on more than one occasion. I learnt how to code Python, such as making blogs and forums (basic) for fun, which is a shame that when people hear 'Python' on here they think 'view booster'.

And thanks, it's what I do whenever I create websites/themes (HTML/CSS/Photoshop, nothing special). I always look at some amazing sites that people have created and thing "man, I need to create something to that level". I have yet to do so, but it definitely motivates me to try.

Try creating an operating system with it. The money you can get is enough motivation.

I lol'ed, if you're just learning, thinking of making an OS is way out of your skill level. Also, you only get money if the operating system is good.

@Brushfire: I actually brought up Ruby because I'm just starting to learn it. It's pretty interesting, I can't do much yet though.
