I'm guessing

His lame attempt at a racial joke and defiance of Icy's orders.

People can't speak their minds without justice.

Wonderful.

Shame how the user could have we-worded it but decided not to.

Well they could but the freedom of speech doesn't really apply here

i know right.

It doesn't matter. He shouldn't have been so racist. You guys are lucky since I have to put up with his antics ALL THE TIME. He team kills me everytime we play a game. Then he complains on how we're losing. Not to mention he does this when he follows me on a forum where he thinks he'll fit in *snaps* just liek that.

So he's just a whiny jabroni, who always complains and stalks you on forums?

Uh, yeah, she does, in a way.

Everyone here agreed to a liscense agreement, where you can do whatever you want, except post anything offensive, and a racist joke is one of them. Secondly, you can't post anything harrasive, and wearing a title that blatantly insults his own brother counts. Not only that, take a look at what the message he sent to Cyber Altar on the first page. Harrassive.

Which, also stated in the agreement, if you violate it the forum team can cut off your access to post, which is what whomever banned him did.

If we're to have any confidence in our beloved staff (oh and how we do!), we should hope that they'd be ethically guided against mass-banning everyone for "finding their posts to be harrassive", their having already done so or not being totally irrelevant of course. Of course right?

Basically, we're still allowed (or should be) to be a little outraged or suspicious should we feel that the staff members are abusing the license agreement.

OH MY GOODNESS THE AUDACITY ONE COULD HAVE TO MAKE A SMARTASS RETORT ON YCM!

Application of the term troll is highly subjective. Some readers may characterize a post as trolling' date=' while others may regard the same post as a legitimate contribution to the discussion, even if controversial. The term is often used as an ad hominem strategy to discredit an opposing position by attacking its proponent.[/quote']

I should probably mention that this is extremely important and that "TROLLING IS AGAINST THE RULES" is a farce for this very reason.

Just sayin'.

This is invalid, because only stupid people can't tell when a member is trolling.

If elegant and subtle trolling as opposed to the /b/ullshit "trolls" were the standard, it'd be much harder to detect. People can choose to be angry at many different things. When it comes down to it, if one's skilled enough, they'll make it so that the distinction between making people angry on purpose and people just happening to take offense hard to distinguish. It isn't always obvious. It doesn't have to be, it often isn't. Think about the members who most make people mad. Think about the members who people would least suspect to be trolls.

Anyway, the problem lies in the potential for honest members to be labeled as trolls, and the fact that we as a fairly large forum should expect to go through a fair member of moderators, not all of which we can rely on to not be stupid. The only necessary prerequisite to being labeled as a "troll" is a given member claiming to take offense or be angry at something you've said or done.

In all honesty, I think that the Mod team considers "bad" trolling to just be like... blatant flaming.

For example:

Unsuspecting member: Gee, I sure am against racism. In fact; I hate ALL racists regardless of who they are.

Fail troll: I HATE bastards BECAUSE THEY STINK!

Unsuspecting Member: HOW DARE YOU MAKE FUN OF OTHER RACES. YOU RAPSCALLION!!!! I'LL REPORT THOU!

Mod: YOU BANNED, jabroni.

In that scenario, it's hardly trolling. But it's still considered trolling. And that's the only trolling we really see on this forum =\
