..and then my teacher makes up THE GaME.

Dweller of Parables

I'm very good at math, so I always take the tests without studying at all. The problem is that I have so much confidence that I take tests that include stuff that I learned in class like 6 months ago and never studied, and by the moment of the test I already forgot that existed. I find funny when I only remember 1 or 2 formulaes and I have to recreate all other formulaes in my head using the ones I remember. In my last test, I had exercises of converting numbers between binary, decimal and hexadecimal. I only remembered how to convert from decimal to binary, and that 10 hex = 16 decimal. That part of the exam was really fun...

You hate it or dislike it.

HATE!

Why do you dislike it?

Too repetitive for me.

What level of math are you taking?

I was up to college level math by the time I got out of highschool. (Note: I was in college level math in middle school.)

Favourite subject so far?

Geometry. I like objects and their funny names.

I lost the game.

Lol' date=' now I lost it.

Anyway, I on a slightly unrelated topic, I think we should be taught originally to add/subtract/multiply from [b']left to right[/b], not right to left. Left to right is more natural, i.e we read left to right, we pronounce the numbers left to right, etc etc. Plus, it's more important to know a number "is a bit over twleve hundred," than, say, "ends in 6."

96

+36

If you add the the thirty first, it's a bit easier and faster than to add then 6 first. That, and it's easy to do in your head.

96+30=126

126+6=132...

Capich?

lost the game etc.. etc..

Anyways love math(no I'm not saying this because it's one of the only class I'm actually doing well in...wait actually it kinda is.)

anyways taking advanced cal. because they offered, they said it was hard and even thought I love math I wasn't going to take extra work in school until I found out the teacher doesn't give homework. It is January and I love this class. . .

@Wright

agreed, but the main reason we do this(and I usually do math left to right which I say is a bad habit.) is imagine you have

_342

+498

----- (doing it left to right)

7??

----

83? (at this point you have to go back and erase the 7 and change it, even worse if using pen)

----(even if you do both #'s you still can't escape)

840 (you have to change the tens place now XD)

Sure you can do the entire problem at once to avoid this but

_4,720x10^12

+81,949,599,349,929,199

-------------

have fun doing that all at once.
