HORUS
Magic: The Gathering is more fair and cheaper to play than the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG. Discuss.
Aximil
No it isn't. Some decks can easily get out over 100,000 creatures in a turn or two and a foil generally costs a minimum of $20. Even if it's flat out horrible.
burnpsy
Pokemon is also cheaper to play than YGO, and is more popular than MtG. Your point?
HORUS
You are completely wrong. http://www.cardkingdom.com/catalog/item/127454 Not $20. Not even close. There are very, very few cards that are even worth more than 10 dollars. Most cards are worth 20 cents; most rares are worth 25. Also, decks run about 20 creatures. The most I have summoned in one turn was 5 creatures with 1 power and 1 toughness, which cost 1 mana each. This is after there have been at least 8 turns. @burnpsy: MTG has been around for almost 20 years. I don't even know anyone who plays the Pokemon TCG. I know at least 15 people who play MTG at my school.

I know at least 15 people who play MTG at my school. MtG is more popular in a school setting due to the negative connotations that Pokemon carries. Nobody will admit it unless they are present at a tourney, online discussing it, or like me (not caring what anyone thinks). Further, the stats show Magic with a lower popularity overall. Length of existence doesn't matter (other business types agree with me there). YGO has been around the shortest but is on top. It goes like this: YGOPKMNMtGChaotic/Naruto/etc.

Any proof of your claim of it being more popular? As I said, other businesses types (like cars and retail) prove that length of existence matters not. That plus Pokemon being next to Mario at the top of the Video Game industry, with older things FAR below but still poular. If you're asking for proof, present your own first. I'll go dig up my data while I wait. EDIT: Edited, huh? Still, Pokemon is in a similar situation to MtG. It's irrelevant. people play what they prefer. Plus, Pokemon has tons of free stuff, like tourneys.

It's hard to count outside of purely sales, in which the YGO site claims supremacy. Also, MtG has several $1000+ cards and a list of things that are promised to NEVER be reprinted. You can do this if your starting hand has 2 Black Lotus, 1 Burst of Speed, 1 Vampire Hexmage, and 1 Dark Depths. This combo is impossible, because Black Lotus is restricted in Vintage format and banned in all other formats.
