[align=center]Tonight, this afternoon, or this morning, we play a game of mystery and murder...

For those that haven't played before, Mafia is a game similar to other titles like Cluedo (Clue in America I believe), and that game's slogan fits this one's perfectly; trust no one, suspect everyone. In Mafia nobody is your friend but the friends you make, and not even them can you necessarily place your trust in. Maifa is the civilians (along with the defender) fighting against the murderer or assassin, whilst the crafty informant can turn the tides of a battle either way.

 

Mafia plays out like this:

 

  • At the start, the 'Murderer', 'Defender' and 'Informant' are selected through a random generator.
  • Each round (also known as 'Nights'), the Murderer will choose one person to kill. The Defender will also choose one person to protect - this person cannot be killed if the Murderer also targets them. The Informant, every round, has the option to send the plans of either the assassin or the defender to any other alive player. They do not see the plans themselves, only get to pass them on. The Informant can also pass 'fake plans', the target of which is rolled by me.
  • After Night 1, Night 2 starts and progresses in the exact same way.
  • After Night 2, it is Day 3. At this point, all alive players, even the assassin, defender and informant, vote for who they think is the assassin. The assassin obviously will want to try and get people to vote for somebody they want to kill off.
  • After Day 3, Night 3 begins and night playstyle resumes until Day 5, then Day 7, and then Day 9. Every two days obviously equals a vote murder.
  • If it gets down to two people, everyone votes who the murderer is. That person will die and then the last remaining person wins.
  • The Murderer wins if they kill everyone; everyone else wins of the murderer dies.
  • As you can see, being the Murderer requires strategy and intelligence!

 

So, that's pretty much it. I'm thinking of doing a 'learning game' at around 12 PM GMT (forty-three minutes from now) and then some more games later.

 

Oh, to get in the room, click the '#YCMafia' at the top which will take you to the YCM IRC channel. From there, you can ask for instructions on how to get to the room.

We already have done that xD

 

Except the person with two votes is called the Underground Judge I think.

 

No' date=' the Underground Judge can save someone from being [s']lynched[/s] killed by vote.

 

I'm good with Dark's idea, but get 10 people in #YCMafia first.
