So I haven't gone to school in over a week...

And it's probably going to be two weeks -.-

In case if you don't live in America or you just don't know, the Mid-Atlantic (DC, MD, VA, WV) is in a state of emergency. We have had 2 blizzards and a wintry mix so far. School has been canceled for a longer time than our Winter Break. In addition, school is canceled tomorrow for me and my county is going to have a meeting about our school year. I think the total is around 4 ft of snow from both blizzards. Plows have been working non-stop and there has been a 50-car pileup on the highway.

I have had to shovel around 2+ feet of snow twice in the past week. The snow here is ridiculous and I'm looking forward to going back to school.

So YCM, what are your thoughts on "Snowmageddon 2010" as Obama has put it, snow days, or just plain snow in general. And do you enjoy going back to school after a long break? Or do you live in a snowy country and think we're all overreacting to the snow? And finally, I know Britain got a huge blizzard too, so for all you Englishmen out there, did you enjoy your blizzard or was it a snowy hell like ours?

I had one day off for snow. Probably no more days off for the rest of the year though. =/

My school ended up using up 4 snow days before this blizzard so our school year is pushed way back. We don't even have a spring break anymore T_T.

Can they even do that? Spring break often has 2 REALLY big religious holidays that go with it' date=' so to cut the break really doesn't seem like something they could do.

Holy Flying Monkey Dung!

You still post!?

Also, I haven't been hit.

He's right. I haven't seen you in a while. So hi.

OT: I live in NY so we just missed the first blizzard. The second one hit us hard, but because of how the mayor is we only got one day off.

@FD, Nah, they'll take out every possible day until they're left with the mandated holidays. My cousin got a day off in NYC for the snow which according to my parents, never happens. They walked over a mile, uphill, in the snow to school, both ways. >.>

@Mask, I've been busy with Call of Duty, and schoolwork, and plotting my plan to immigrate to Canada and colonize the moon so I can live on a Canadian moonbase. With space meese.

OT: Apparently we can't go to school since there's no where safe to stand while waiting for the bus and since my specific county is full of pretentious rednecks, no one shovels the sidewalks. So everyone gets to dodge cars on the way to school, or drive on icy roads. Hooray!!!

Yea, NYC rarely gets days off. On Thursday some side walks were still covered in snow and some side streets still some what bad, but we had school. My English teach pointed out that the bus stoppers only started getting cleared AFTER most kids would have been in school making it even harder.

Ooh the irony. Im sweating at NIGHT due to the heat and there's a blizzard where you are. I envy you so.

And we envy you. It's funny how when you sometimes get what you want you long for what you had.

I hate living in a no snow area! Sorry, feeling crazy today, also lucky you... I've never seen snow in my whole life before.

On the other hand you don't have to deal with the cold and narrow roads.
