You'll want to start from scratch. Something that's still the same but even more important now is that you need to be able to run max of almost everything for consistency reasons, and normal monsters are bad outside of dedicated builds.

As I said in your previous thread: Just buy 3 copies of the newly released Structure Deck Machina Mayhem. Adding them together gets you a solid deck without even needing to add other things. xD

Look over the BASIC DECKBUILDING FAQ under IMPORTANT THREADS in this section.

That'll give you a few tips as well.

Also, what do you want your theme to be? That is, what do you want your deck to focus on? And things like "Dark monsters" or "spellcasters" are not themes. Themes are more specific than monster type or attribute.

i really want a fast pace and up-front strong deck' date=' yet it has some intelligence to back it up, if that makes any sense at all. and im kinda diggin the new synchro stuff so i wanna get more involved with that too

[/quote']

Still too broad. Some examples of themes:

TeleDAD (using both Emergency Teleport and Dark Armed Dragon with a Destiny Draw/Allure engine)

Macro Monarchs (using the effects of DD Survivor and Scout Plane with Dimensional Fissure/Macro Cosmos to provide tributes for Monarchs)

Hopeless Dragon (Using DARK Dragons and summoning them via the effect of Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon)

Themes focus on how you win, like through a card effect or an archetype like Six Samurai or Gladiator Beasts.

Check out the different deck types in the link I gave you. And there are more than just A-C. Look at all of them and pick one you like.

Since he's getting back into Yugioh, I woudln't go into the more expensive deck builds yet.

I also agree with buying Structure Deck Machina Mayhem. Great cards in there that you can put in most decks you can build so its a great start.

Some cheap decks that are effective include:

Frogs

Six Samurais (Not so much a sychro deck unless if you form it that way)

Battermen (Not so much a sychro user unless if you form it that way)

Take a look into the different types of deck builds out there. Look for a theme you like and let us know.

So any ideas of a theme you would like? Fast and hard hitting is very broad. Just some types of decks I can think of are as follows

Lightsworn

Blackwing

Gladiator Beast

Zombie

X-Saber

Burn

Macro Monarch

Frogs

Six Samurai

Elemental Hero /Evil Hero/Destiny Hero

Batterman

Cyber Dragon

Morphtronics

Gemini

Spellcaster (Citadel)

Rescue Cat Syncrho

Aleins

Venoms

And there are the two that I run:

Reptiliannes

Cloudians

Theres plenty more types of deck archetypes, but these are some of the more common ones.

i think out of those i like spellcaster decks, a cyber dragon deck maybe, or a zombie deck, i bought a zombie structure deck not too long ago, bought three months maybe? never seen a cyber dragon one before or even heard of it, and i used to run a magician deck tht ran off of dark magicians and many counter parts of him that worked well back in the day

Machines are gonna be a big thing due to the next list. dont bother with a Destiny Draw engine or Allure as both are being limited come the next list.

there are some good machine decks currently floating around on the first page. i would advise looking into them.

another very powerful decktype that the list doesnt cover is Gadgets. they're reasonably cheap (bar 2 or 3 cards) and are easy to work with.

welcome back to yugioh.
