EliminateHRN
Eminem' date=' D12, and [b']Beastie Boys[/b] say hai. This. Some rap like the one mentioned in the quoted post are good, some is bad. I don't mind Lil' Wayne, I like some of his songs. Also, I'm a fan of Will Smith as both a actor and rapper/hip-hopper. LiAM
Rap is often talentless, racist, hating, anti-scoial (etc). It's essentially the least listenable but most likeable music. Can't understand it. There are a few good rap songs (in lyrical sense), but that is it.
Guest Random Dude
Really the only good rap in my opinion is the old non-gangsta kind like Rick James or the Beastie Boys, I grew up with a Bass and an amp and I just don't like a lot of rap. I mean no offense to those of you who listen to it, I just don't like it.

Just take a look at metal--the focus of 99% of YCM's members. Sure, most of us here love it, but if you look at the big picture, there's A LOT of crap on the metal scene. Every genre is stuffed with a ton of crap that makes it hard to find the gems. It just so happens that rap is one of the most popular genres, therefore making it more apparent to us. Coffee Black
I like how oldschool rap is the only good rap to most people. Sigh...I'll admit, there's a lot of dumb sheet that goes on today. I'd like to say that they just like to have fun, but that's really no excuse for terrible lyrics. My favorite rapper is Drake right now. I don't know when I'll be tired of So Far Gone... cmc1234
Rap is stupid, back then thats what rapp is suppose to be, now its all about how fast you can go, and how many times you can drop the "n" word in a rapp

~Makaveli~
i dont see why most people hate rap.. who else get to dress however they want, say whatever they want and do whatever they want.. what rap basically is the thoughts coming from the mind and heart of people like us who maybe grew up in a place like south central LA where there where poor black men and women who did nothing wrong but would get beat up the police just because of there color.. the world as we know it has changed because of rap.. if you would look back as i have and look at the really old people you would see that the world has changed due to people like Tupac, The Notorious B.I.G., N.W.A., Grand Master Flash, Boggie Down Productions, KRS-One, Nas, and Rick James people who want to and needed to say what was on there mind and what they where experiencing and people are gonna have to accept that...
