Your friend is correct; in a vague sense. It creates a Semi-Lock, meaning your opponent can't destroy your monsters by battle(excluding "non-morphtronics"). Note that if one of Bordens is removed from the field, the lock is gone.

Morphtronic Boarden is a very good card' date=' as should be obvious based on its effects. It can bypass huge monsters got the occasional OTK, or can deal loads of damage if you can't. It's defensive effect is one of the better ones. Having 2 Boardens in Defense stops you opponent from beating any Morphtronics in battle. As Machine Duplication can get you an immediate two in defense, and its attack mode effect can actually do something, this is better than Magnen by a long shot. This thing this very good in all Morph builds, getting both OTK Morphs and Stall Morphs on its side, as well as being quite handy with Equip Morphs.[/b'][/align]

I think Konami got his effect backwards. The defence position should be "you can attack directly" and the attack position should be the "cant be destroyed".

 

Since in defence position(board mode) they can ride him to attack directly.

And in attack mode, boarden uses the back of himself as a shield to protect the others.

one weakness 2x Borden has that 2x Magnens dont is that piercing damage would still hurt you. but yea, Borden is overall much better.

Boarden's attack position effect is better, because getting little Morphs up to huge ATK isn't hard.
