Enrise
Unless the cover has a picture of two naked girls getting it on, I will never judge a book by its cover.
Aequitas
Don't judge a book by its cover.[/topic]Â Yet, many people do. A good cover does not make a good book, but it helps a bunch when it comes to sales.

Dark
Let's put it this way; if the cover of a book has hentai on it, you can expect me to read it. So the cover plays an important part.

EliminateHRN
If I like the cover of the book, I usually read that little intro on the inside of the book, then if that looks good, I'll read the first chapter. So, a cover doesn't make a good book, but if the cover looks interesting, i'll start reading the book. So I guess the second option.

KuroKibo
Depends. I wouldn't buy a book if it's somehow has a horror aura, unless it seemed to be interesting.

Jonny
i never look at the cover , but at the text on the back of the book. Only then i judge it .

Theseus
Okay, books can be good because of the cover, but it's supposed to tie the ideas of the books in by picture, like with Harry Potter. Those are some good covers. Mary Grand-Pré rocks.
PowerlinX
I say no, it's all in the content. A book could have a really kick-a** cover, and have diarrhea inside.
Death Metal
 This book is as badass as the cover.  So 'Maybe' would be my answer to the title's question.  [spoiler=No' date= but this cover art certainly makes this a good CD.]   Doesn't look very entertaining. =l Maybe if it had a cool viking in the background or something.... but I'm just not feeling it. Sorry.
Marisa Kirisame-ze
In all honesty, it attracts me to the book. If I was given a book with a bad cover, I wouldn't judge. But if I was just randomly in a bookstore, I won't look at the books with bland covers.
GraveHorizon
In all honesty' date=' it [i']attracts[/i] me to the book. If I was given a book with a bad cover, I wouldn't judge. But if I was just randomly in a bookstore, I won't look at the books with bland covers. Exactly. The cover doesn't make the content of the book better or worse. It's fun to look at, and it may complement your imaginary view of the book's world, but it doesn't really affect anything about the book itself. I see an interesting cover, I might pick up the book and look at it. I've read great books with sh*t covers, terrible books with nice covers, and stuff in between. The cover is there to draw you in, not tell you how good the story is. It's like any other product; all they need is some flashy advertisement to get you to try it out, then decide if you like it or not.

~Wright~
As the cover provides the book's first visual appeal, we will always initially judge a book by it's cover, as that, and it's title will always first determine what books we pick up.
