His preference? Cyber. However, I have to shave off $40 of the price to do it. :/

Blackwing deck needs more cheap Synchros. I don't know they both sound so good' date=' BW probably better.

[/quote']

To be quite honest, the prices on both decks need to drop to around the $80 range. Thus, adding more Synchros is out of the question.

honestly' date=' Cyber would be better as a budget deck

[/quote']

Uhh... Did you look at the prices on both? Unless you know how to shave off 1/4 of the price, Blackwings are cheaper and just as effective.

Additionally, you could remove the following from the Cyber Deck:

3x Cyber Eltanin (since you’re not focusing on its OTK, it doesn’t seem like it’s needed)

2x DDR (If you removed Eltanin, the only card you have now that removes is Overload. These aren’t needed as much)

2x DNA surgery (there are better choices.)

That shaves off $22.83 according to my cell phone calculator.

The most expensive part seems to be the Extra Deck, but I don't think there's much you can do about that...

I already removed DNA Surgery.

I could remove a few Eltanins, but Eltanin is all-around good, whether the focus is its OTK or not. Note that Eltanin is a prefectly valid card to draw instead of Overload Fusion in order to OTK. Eltanin is essentially another copy of Overload. I could toss one, however. That wouldn't matter much in the long run, and I could add another Shining Angel/Beckoning/Power Bond/Waboku/Evolution Burst in its place. Thoughts?

DDR still has Valley, but you're correct on how it's unnecessary. What would I add instead of these two?

Yeah, only Fortress is expensive in the Extra Deck.

Hand Destruction? Book of Moon?

And in place of Eltanin, maybe a Card Trooper? Morphing Jar? Sangan?

I'll go with Hand Destruction and...

Card Trooper: Armored Unit Target for Fortress

Morphing Jar: Draw Power

Sangan: Searches 16/22 Monsters in the Deck

...I'll go with Sangan.

Doesn't the SDMM x3 get you most of what you need for about $30? I'd go with Cybers as it's more budget. That and you said your brother likes Cybers, so I think we should go with Cybers. I have a slight love for Machines, but that's beside the point.

Plus, with 3x SDMM, you'd have a bunch of good commons to use for trades, which could cut down on the cost in general.

When I looked at 3x SDMM, I noticed that Cyber Valley is the only card from the structure that's in this deck at 3. Further, it's actually more expensive to gt SDMM than the cards in it for some reason. >___<

I'll look at 2x SDMM.

go with the Blackwing Deck.

it might be tad more expensive... but

its still a Tier 1 decktype...

That's irrelevant.

My baby brother is 6 years old

Does that really make a difference.......?

Let him choose what he likes better and go with that...

It does. Would you care about actually winning a tournament at such a young age? Further, people are more prepared to side against him, and his cards will be more prone to limits/bans. xD

Fair point. As long as he has fun then. Still, im sure that if he wins a few games he'll be happy. Also, your right about BW's being more prone to the list....

I had him test both decks on a WC10 rom (since ROMs are legal in Canada). When I asked him which one he liked more, he said this:

So' date=' which deck do you like more?

[/quote']

Is it true that Cyber Dragons won tournaments a long time ago? Is it true that Blackwings are winning tournaments right now?

Yeah' date=' why?

[/quote']

I like the Cyber Dragon deck.

Why don't you like the Blackwings?

I think Blackwings are too simple.

But they win' date=' don't they?

[/quote']

Yeah...

That said' date=' he usually tends to change his mind on these things...

i could give you some BWs for free oh wait you dont like doing that type of thing with people you cant neccessarily trust... I got nothing

I don't want to sound greedy, but I've accepted free cards from people I don't know through the mail before. The main difference here is that it was for the PKMN TCG. So, as precedent shows, I have no problem with something like that.

It's when I enter a trust-like situation where I have to rely on the other person to send something while I send something for a direct online trade that I start complaining.
