As I stated, you need a better source. I don't know where you're getting the sprites from, but I can tell you that Spriters-Resource doesn't have this problem.

The problem you're having is that the images you are getting are transparent. Transparency doesn't show up in MSPaint, so it just switches it to default black. I've heard that if you save and open a particular way it solves the problem, although I've never had to do it myself. Of course one could always just do a CTR+PRNTSCREEN to just copy everything that way too.

I explained why copy and paste doesn't work. The sprites you try to use generally have a transparent background. The problem though is that MS Paint is very basic. It does not know how to read the data for a transparent background. So it replaces it with a default black color. This of course matches the border. This is why you cannot copy and paste.

But thats how i like things, kinda simple, i try my hardest to do the recolouring right, try my hardest to think whats parts could go where....but i suppose they just come out rubbish.....i like doing things with voltorb though, voltorb is a good base in my eyes, and i love the way my voltorb+gastly+haunter came out...

Actually, most of the sprites I've seen use a black border color that is different than the default paint black. If you get your sprites from Spriters-resource, they do come with a black background, but all you need to do is fill the black in with white.

bran: if your having a problem with the black bit just use pencil with white colour around the bit to cover the area so it doesn't get painted over.. helps a bit (its actually what i did with myn a bit)

for splice try similar body shape pokemon, it helps with putting em together

maybe Glalie + Spheal? (maybe + Shelgon if you want it to stand)
