actually, if Effect Monster effects can't be activated, then technically it'd be negating itself as well

 

so you should say all OTHER monster effects are negated

No. It won't. You don't know how to play yugioh.

 

If it's own effect would be negated, then so would Obelisk's effect that destroys monsters. And it wouldn't be.
