Alzeid
Sometimes I think of some of the oddest things, but this idea really got me going: "what if cards and effects revolved around (technically) changing the "original ATK/DEF" of a monster?" [spoiler=Image Credits/Sources]Silent Mage - UnknownDiligence - UnknownEternal Dawn - Personal Image (Lovely! xD)All Skill - "~meisan" (DA)Transferring Power - "maXVolnutt" (DA)Retain - ~r4v1 and *Jaelle (DA) My apologizes and thanks to all the people I steal images from. :3 (>_>) Under this idea, general changes in ATK and DEF could be separated into two categories: "supplemental" and "original". Most (if not all) cards in the game currently fall under the "supplemental" category whereas the cards I suggest would fall under the "original" category. This opens up new play using effects revolving around the terminology of "original ATK/DEF" (take my Silent Mage or "Elemental Hero Thunder Giant") as well as allows for more diverse ATK/DEF changes. Any thoughts or suggestions to this (hopefully new) idea? :3 Update: Hmm, I didn't realize the prevalence of this concept "original ATK" in the actual TGC. :o Reading up on some rulings for cards like Megamorph and found that, at least in terms of doubling or halving, the effects upon original ATK/DEF may work differently than I had first thought. Guess we'll see for now. (And boy, pictures are hard to find that seem both related and original are difficult to come by. -_-)

Alzeid
I think that first card creates a paradox. It makes my head hurt. The idea is that if she is attacked by a 1600 ATK monster while in Defence mode' date=' the Battle damage caused would be 100 to the attacker. With the effect, that damage could be negated and replaced with SM's original ATK of 500. With the cards I'm think of, there's plenty of ways to influence the value of "original attack"; equip her with Diligence and the damage now becomes 900 rather than 100 (if someone really thought to attack... <_<). :o Okay, they won't all be that complicated, but yeah, think it simular to "Dark Scorpion - Meanae the Thorn". ragnarok1945
spell effect is WAY too bland, give it another one same goes with Eternal Dawn, although with so many atk/def changing cards out there today, this is very adequate 9/
Alzeid
- Added new card: "All Skill". spell effect is WAY too bland' date=' give it another one same goes with Eternal Dawn, although with so many atk/def changing cards out there today, this is very adequate 9/10[/quote'] Diligence's effect is simple yes, but there's one word that (should) make it unique: "original". Eternal Dawn does copy the whole "Royal Decree" idea, but given it's to stop a certain kind of system (just like Decree stops Traps), it's an anti- to my concept. Thank you for the input. Jazin Kay
"Original" =/= "good".
Alzeid
"Original" =/= "good". If you took "original" to mean that the idea of the cards are original, you are mistaken. Monsters have "original" or "base" attack which are generally changed through various card effects. This "supplemental" increase in ATK/DEF does not change the value of the monster's base ATK/DEF. Throw an Axe of Despair on Silent Mage and you'll still only deal 500 dmg via the effect. The idea behind these cards are to increase/decrease the said "original/base" attack so that you can influence the effects of Silent Mage to be more or less beneficial. (Forgive me if I seem long-winded or stubborn; I'm just trying to make the concept clear. <_<)
Jazin Kay
You misunderstand what I meant. I'm a blunt guy. With me, take it literally.
Alzeid
You misunderstand what I meant. I'm a blunt guy. With me' date=' take it literally.[/quote'] The assumption that that idea is original or the use of original stats, just clear that up for me please. Either way, I will thank you for your input. Added "Transferring Power" - I could use some help on the wording of this card. I want to say that a monster's original ATK/DEF changes to 0, but their "effective ATK/DEF" (values used in battles, etc) is still what it was prior to the cards activation. (For example; a 3000/2500 monster hit with this card would have an effective ATK/DEF of 3000/2500, but a original ATK/DEF of 0/0.)
