Welcome to the Sun Tzu Academy of Warfare. Here we will discuss tactics, strategies, the differences between them, and anything else pertaining to these subjects. You can enlist here if you wish to talk with peers who share your love of all things strategic/tactical, or if you merely wish to obtain a better understanding. I know I'm not the greatest mastermind in the world, but I'm confident in my capabilities, and always look forward to a fight with someone of equal or greater skill. This club is, as always, mostly for fun, though I suggest you don't enlist if you don't take these lessons at least somewhat seriously. Regardless, feel free to join, and I look forward to having you!

 

[spoiler=What are Lessons?]Lessons are battles planned by those with the power to do so, between two or more Students/Apprentices, sometimes with goals or limitations designed to push the players to their limits, or to adapt and learn. Posted in the Games section.

[spoiler=Ranks]Ranking is done by passing "challenges" administered by me or the Headmaster.

 

[spoiler=Students]These are the starting Ranks, and you will work your way up here first.

 

New Student: This is where you start when you join, regardless. Aside from being able to claim you're a member of the Academy, you have no real powers here...yet.

 

Advanced Student: With a progression in Rank, comes a progression in power. You can now warn New Students.

 

Senior Student: Again, with rank comes power. You can now Warn Advanced Students as well, and begin posting contests with our name.

 

Expert Student: You can now Warn Senior Students, as well as organazing Lessons between lower Rank Students.

 

Graduate: You have finished your basic learning here, and now have two paths to choose: Accept a positon as an Apprentice to a Master (and possibly advance to the highest ranks of Masters), or become a teaching Master (who will never achieve the highest Ranks, but has a broader range of qualifications). The choice is yours.

 

 

[spoiler=Apprentices]You have chosen to apprentice yourself to a Master, learning more of their particular wisdom, and starting on the path to ultimate power within the Academy.

 

Tactical Apprentice: You have chosen to learn from a Master of tactics, meaning you prefer to plan "in the moment", and on a smaller scale. Your powers include the ability to organize contests with the club name, Warn any Student, though you may no longer plan Lessons (as you are still learning yourself).

 

Strategic Apprentice: You have chosen to learn from a Master of strategues, meaning you prefer to orchestrate not the battles that are key to your overall plan, but the plan itself, meaning you are most likely detail-oriented. You have the same powers as a Tactical Apprentice.

 

General Apprentice: You've chosen to learn from a Master of both fields, though their knowledge may not be as precise in either field, and this can be an invaluable experience, as you can adapt to more positions. Again, same powers as the above.

 

Master Apprentice: This means you have been chosen as the apprentice of one of the highest and most revered masterminds of this acedemy, no small feat. You will learn in eithr one or both fields, but whatever knowledge you gain will be immeasurable, and you may learn more about yourself than you had planned. Same powers as all of the above, as well as being able to Warn the above Apprentices.

 

 

[spoiler=Masters]These are the greatest of the great, masterminds capable of incredible forethought and preparation. If you achieve any of these ranks, then you are the pride of this Academy.

 

Instructor: The lowest Masters, these are immediate paths to power, and prove it. They have all the same powers as an Expert Student, as wel as being able to Warn Apprentices.

 

Tactical Teacher: An Instructor specializing in tactics, they have gained the powers to Warn Instructors, and organize Lessons in tactics.

 

Strategic Teacher: An Instructor specializing in strategies, they have gained the powers to Warn Instructors, and organize Lessons in strategies.

 

Assistant Headmaster: The highest rank of Teachers, these are able to Warn other Teachers, and are able to change Lesson plans.

 

Tactical Mastermind: A graduated Tactical Apprentice, they have earned the right to take on an Apprentice themselves, and have full authorization to use the Academy's name.

 

Strategic Mastermind: A graduated Strategic Apprentice, they have earned the right to take on an Apprentice themselves, and have full authorization to use the Academy's name.

 

Supreme Mastermind: The highest Mastermind, only a Master Apprentice can graduate to this rank, and with this honor comes immunity to Warnings from anyone but the leader.

 

Headmaster: Co-Leader of the Academy, has full authority to Warn or ban members of the Academy, excluding the Supreme Masterminds, and will take over in the leader's absence.

 

Sun Tzu: Leader of the Academy, full authority within the club. Will be passed on to the Headmaster when necessary.

@ Pikachu: Can be both, though mainly real strategy/tactic lessons. There is a difference, and that is one thing I'll be teaching, for anyone who didnt' immediately pick up on it.

 

@ deathghost101: Feel free to invite them, or tell me who you're referring to so I can invite them. Thisisn't just a club purely for fun (as I said), but obviously we will be having fun here, hopefully. Just most people don't find my 'mind-intensive' games to be fun.

@ Mason: deathghost is right, I'll make that a quiz. Give me the answer (without asking anyone) and I'll send you 50 Points.

 

@ deathghost: SC3, I have no idea, as I've never played it. I'll be producing the same grid I use for another game I'm making, and I'll modify units as needed. Just tell me what format you want for your exam/Lessons, and I'll make it (like Star Wars, Fire Emblem, Ancient Mythology, etc...).

The path to enlightenment is not an easy one, friend. I can tell you, but you won't gain so much from it.
