Dark
Honestly, I expect this to die in a few days. I just hope it spurs some ideas and someone else can remake this club twelve times better than what I've done. If you knew what "godforsaken" actually meant, the title of this club is misleading. This club is a place where atheists, agnostics and satanists can come together and pretty much discuss religion, or anything else that you guys want. There is no special form to fill out, no regulations other than YCM rules, and yeah. It's just a place where you can freely talk about religion (without flaming), and hopefully the mods'll understand that we need some wiggle room for discussion. If some religious people want to come in here and debate or discuss, they have every right to. I cannot deny you access to this club based on your beliefs. But if the tension gets too heated, you can leave. I'll attempt to control the flaming as much as possible, but some people get really into this topic. So, yeah. You guys don't have any regulations for topics, just don't spam. But to start off, I'll nudge towards a YouTube video and hope for some discussion. It's an interesting video, and to my knowledge the information is all fact.

Dark
If you are into sarcastic humor, this might be the site for you. http://www.youtube.com/user/EdwardCurrent It's making fun of religion from a religious person's standpoint. Like my sig, pretty much.

Akumakagemaru
I will say now, I'm a Christian, and nothing will ever change that. However, I'm not as rigid as some people nowadays are. I personally believe, for example, that science is God's tool for creation. I refuse to believe that as perfect as our bodies function, as all bodies function, we simply evolved randomly frmo a pile of mud. Of course, my sadistic tendencies would also probably make some "satanic rituals" that come to mind when people hear the word 'satanist' look as tame as a wedding ceremony, so I suppose I shouldn't really be talking... Dark
we simply evolved randomly frmo a pile of mud Likewise, I simply refuse to believe a supreme being could have possibly created us. And we evolved from microorganisms, not mud. Get it right. :

Not trying to be disrepectful of your views, just saying I can't comprehend that something equivalent to plankton evolved into what we are now. I especially despise the whole "evolved from apes" theory as well. And are you saying you believe there is absolutely no design to us whatsoever? Dark
Well if we were created by intelligent design, remind me to tell Satan in hell to tell God that I thank him for giving me an appendix that has no use (but probably had use to the cavemen we evolved fro... I mean nothing) and if it bursts I die. And we only have two less chromosomes than most monkey species. Does that say nothing?
Akumakagemaru
1. My father had his appendix burst, I'm well aware of the danger. However, I remember reading that it does have a purpose, I simply can't recall, as it was years ago. 2. It says that a monkey is similar to a human, but I don't doubt God would create such similar species, for whatever reason. I similarly believe that as much space as there is out there, it would be arrogant to assume we are the only "intelligent" species.
Dark
IIRC, it was used to digest bone back in the day when cavemen ate bones. And can I ask you a question, since you are a devout Christian? The first thing God did was "to let there be light". But it wasn't until the fourth day of creation he made the day and night cycles. wut?
Akumakagemaru
IIRC? I never said I was devout (no idea where my Bible is), only that my opinion won't be changed. I'm used to intense debate against someone who has a talent for shooting down any arguement lacking perfect logic. Anyways, to answer your question...I say he "let there be light" by creating the Earth and planets and whatnot, but the actual process of day and night cycles (rotation) didn't begin untilt he fourth day. And how do you know it so well?
Dark
If I remember/recall correctly. And I've read the Bible twice fully, I think. I used to be a Christian, you see. Until about 7 or 8. And light somewhat shows that he was "creating the sun" so to speak, and adding light into the universe. So that would automatically create day and night cycles by itself. And another thing: in the version I read, Adam and Eve had two kids: John and Cain. Cain killed John. So there were three people on Earth. The Bible says nothing about God creating more people, so the only solution is that Eve and Cain had kids. And as proved by science, that'd mean half of us would have some sort of mental retardation. Akumakagemaru
1 - I've only read Revelations, in the King James Version I believe. I used to go to church and sunday school...but my mother and I agreed we didn't enjoy it anymore, because of the people. I feel most "Christians" are foul, despicable things that hide behind the church as a facade of being "nice", and have desecrated the true meaning of being Christian. Of course, I also know that whatever hell does exist, satan already has a VIP room overlooking the Styx and a gift basket ready for me (hell, he'll probably be there to greet me in person), so I'm hardly a saint myself. 2 - That didn't mean that they were rotating yet, which is what actaully causes the cycle part. If they didn't rotate, one side of Earth would be ice, the other a scorched desert, basically. Doesn't that make sense? 3 - I have no idea there, don't ask me. Like I said, I only read Revelations, as it was the only one that interested me.

Dark
Honestly, if the Bible was the word of God given down to man, he should have made it so his ideas couldn't have been misinterpreted. Going out on a branch here, look at the Quran. It talks about fighting evil, called a 'jihad'. Yet people misinterpret it and think you are supposed to kill non-believers, when it's probably supposed to mean fighting the evil within you. If Allah really was all-powerful, couldn't he have given the people a better-written religious book, so that misinterpretations couldn't happen? If 'free will' is a problem, it's not taking away your free will. He is just explaining it more so it's more convincing. =/

Allah is just Arabic for God.
Dark
I always think of it as Allah being the God in Islam and just 'God' being the God in Christianity and Catholicism. They very well could be one in the same, but my logic is that they are different religions, so I should refer to them differently. And they are different; Allah sent down the Quran (IIRC, or some religious book), while God gave Moses the 10 Commandments and sent the Bible through revelations. And the Bible and the Quran are not one in the same, and although they are similar, it could have been old-style copy/pasta. :/

Godot
Screw you. ;D From what I've gathered, the topic is about Allah and God being different, right? It's funny, I had this discussion a while ago. Allah is God. They say that in the Quaran. Allah is Arabic for God. God is the same in all religions.
