flyingtoastr
There's nothing like watching the look on someone's face after pulling off the impossible Ojama Delta Hurricane or Batteryman AA/Short Circuit OTK. I've always enjoyed these sort of "weak" decks - they may not be the most consistant or powerful strategy but they're pretty damn fun when they work. So I threw together the start of my own "Underpowered Archetype" - the Quarkmen. All of the cards are based on concepts, forces, and particles in Quantum Mechanics and Particle Physics. I do have a few ideas for a couple more cards floating around that I might make later. So without further ado: The Monsters:P.R.O.T.O.N. Lore:"Quarkman Up" + "Quarkman Up" + "Quarkman Down"This card can only be Special Summoned from your Extra Deck by sending the above cards you control to the graveyard (You do not use "Polymerization"). You take no Battle Damage from battles involving this card. When this card is destroyed you can Special Summon up to 2 "Quarkman" monsters from your Graveyard and destroy 1 card your opponent controls. Kato_Zenamara
Very nice. Yes, I utterly hate it when someone pulls that stuff on me, especially when I can't do anything about it.Lol, I don't think you noticed, but in the Lore you typed below P.R.O.T.O.N., you said "Particleman Up" and "Particleman Down", but on the card, they say "Quarkman" xD. Thanks for catching that for me. :)Lol, sure. I can see where you're going with the Susy card (lol Susy). Although I'm confused as to why its a quick-play. I can see why, but I think it would work better as a continuous, and with a cost for activation. For instance, Enraged Mokey Mokey has a similar effect, and requires a fairy-type monster to be destroyed to activate.Maybe it activates when PROTON's effect activates? Or better yet, when a Quarkman is Special Summoned (Down's effect, anyone?)? I'm assuming you have knowledge in the chemistry area? Maybe you should do a trap that activates when PROTON "splits"? With a nuking effect?

ragnarok1945
Looks like the OCG is just fine for the cards graveyard should be Graveyard, but that's just capitalization personally I feel the fusion monster is a bit OPed, but it DOES have weak stats, so I don't know 9.1/

The particle breaks up (PROTON is destroyed) into some leftover smaller parts (special summoning the Quarks) and a bit of extra energy (destroying one of your opponent's cards). Same basic idea with The Weak Force. I see what you mean with SuSy. I've modified it into a (hopefully) balanced continual version of the single turn ATK booster and come up with a third Quarkman monster. Yes, they are meant to combo together. :)

Kato_Zenamara
Oooh, I like it now. Definately something usable. I just realized that PROTON is Captain Planet xD Oh, I think you should make a nuke card. Since, when you split an atom, it creates a nuclear explosion.Maybe an alchemy card too, since that relates to atoms?
flyingtoastr
New updates for tonight. Bunch of new cards and a couple tweaks to the old ones. Firstly, good old Quarkman E-Minus' effect now only requires you to have a face-up Thunder-type monster instead of a specific Quarkman. Mostly this was just to marginally increase splashability in non-Quarkman decks (might be useful in a Batteryman deck, for example, for quick Charger tribute fodder). Weak Force was changed from destroying to sending to the Graveyard. Entirely a result of Weak Force acting as a +4 when combined with PROTON's destruction effect. Strong Force has been changed to only Special Summon directly from the Deck, as that's pretty much the whole theme of this archetype now (targeting monsters in your deck for effects). Couple of minor grammer fixes. Now for the good stuff: new cards! Two new monsters and 2 new spells! Quarkman Z Gauge Once per turn, you can send 1 "Quarkman" monster from your Deck to the Graveyard. Until the End Phase this card's name is treated as the sent monster's name. When this card is destroyed as a result of battle you can return 2 "Quarkman" monsters from your Graveyard to your Deck and return this card from your Graveyard to your Hand. Z Gauge lets you dump another Quarkman in order to take it's name. It makes it easier to get PROTON onto the field if you don't draw a lot of Strong Forces or Normal Summoning room with Up's. It's second effect allows you to unmill some of the Graveyarded Quarkmen in exchange for maintaining card advantage after a battle. Quarkman Quantum Graviton When this monster would be destroyed as a result of battle, you can return 1 "Quarkman" monster from your Graveyard to your Deck to prevent this monster's destruction (Damage Calculation is applied normally). Quantum Graviton allows you to both maintain field presense (through an undestroyable monster) as well as recycle some of the Quarkmen you dump into the Graveyard via other effects into your Deck to be reused. QFT All Battle Damage you take from battles involving "Quarkman" monsters is halved. If this face-up card that you control would be destroyed by your opponent's card effect, send 1 "Quarkman" monster from your Deck or Hand to the Graveyard to prevent this card's destruction. Straightfoward Field spell. Since Quarkman monsters are so weak (300 ATK each), even after pulling off SuSy combos its possible you'd still get run over with damage regardless. QFT (which stands for "Quantum Field Theory", not "Quoted for truth") halves all Battle Damage taken from Quarkman battles, as well as protects itself from destruction. Baryon Decay Return 1 "P.R.O.T.O.N." you control to the Extra Deck. Special Summon up to 3 "Quarkman" monsters from your Deck or Graveyard in face up Attack Position. Each time a "Quarkman" monster inflicts Battle Damage this turn, discard 1 random card from your opponent's Hand. The PROTON destruction card. This is mainly used to get a set of three 2000 attack beatsticks (with SuSy on the field), and on top of that makes your opponent take some major advantage hits if he can't stop them. And that's all for now. Comments are heartily enjoyed! :)
flyingtoastr
New updates! A bunch of the older cards have been changed to go with the new Archetype theme of dumping Quarkmen from the Deck to the Graveyard.-Strong Force now requires a Quarkman in your Graveyard instead of your Field.-Supersymmetry now dumps from the Deck to the Graveyard (instead of from the Hand/Field).-Baryon Decay now prevents your opponent from activating Spells or Traps instead of discarding.-Quantum Field Theory now has its name spelled out and has a much cleaner protection program.-Z Gauge has been completely redesigned: he now messes with your opponent's hand when he's used as a D2G cost. And 1 new card:DegenerateSelect 4 "Quarkman" monsters in your Graveyard. Return the selected cards to your Deck, then draw 2 cards. If you have fewer than 4 "Quarkman" monsters in your Graveyard, you can reveal this card in your Hand to your opponent and return this card to the Deck. Then draw 1 card. Given how many Quarkmen are being dumped into the Graveyard to fuel effects (especially for SuSy), it was pretty much a given that the archetype was in danger of running out of monsters to draw pretty quickly. Degenerate is designed to alleviate some of that issue, acting like a slightly better (if stricter) Pot of Avarice. The second effect is to prevent a dead draw by recycling the card if it can't be used, just as a little bonus.

ragnarok1945
for Degenerate Hand should be hand it has a little bit too much card recovery and drawing power to it, might want to give it a drawback 8/
