Alpha.

 

It's legit. My dad played when Alpha came out, gave me his stuff when he quit.

 

I had 2 sets of Power Nine, I just need another Black Lotus.

I saw a guy win on the third turn with a wicked strategy:

 

Vampire Hexmage + Dark Depths

Saw another one where a guy activated FOUR 'Archive Trap' cards on his opponent on his FIRST turn.

 

(Which is why I don't use 'Terramorhpic Expanse')

 

Poor guy got decked on his second turn - and he was PISSED!

I saw this pulled off once

 

Mayael the Anima used to draw and play Progenitus FTW but it turned out he had 10 copies and was disqualified

Nice combo to get him from the Deck.

 

Personally, I would rather use Elvish Piper to play it for 1 green mana OR find a way to dump it in the graveyard and revive it.

 

I guarantee that people will want to do that with the new Eldrazi cards coming out due to their insane converted mana costs. Seriously, one of them costs 15 mana - the same as the Mox Lotus from Unhinged.

Don't want to make a new thread since I know this is here so I'm just going to bump it.

 

My friends have been playing MTG a lot in school so I'm starting to get into it.

 

Right now I've been using my friends Elf deck and I love it, but the problem there is that it isn't mine and he's told me that it's a pain to get the cards. So any idea on what starter deck I could/should get that plays a bit like the Elfs.
