So I found $40 and am going to get the other starter decks' date=' and make my Red/White better. I'm also going to make a Green/Blue deck. FYI, those seem to be the cards I like most.

Consider looking for some Boros-themed cards. Their Radiance ability is FUN.

Green is good for swarming and sheer power - as well as lots of mana generation.

If you're gonna dabble into blue, make sure to have some counterspells. 'Spell Pierce' (from Zendikar) is a good one to use - as it counters noncreature spells unless they pay 2 mana. It only costs you 1 blue, so that's a plus. Of course, the standard 'Counterspell' is pretty much required for blue.

Where would I get them. Remember I'm just starting so I can't get cards that are that old.

Yea, that is the biggest selling point of green for me. I'll take your word on blue since, again, I'm still new to this.

Boros cards are from the Ravnica pack. They're SOMEWHAT old. If there's a cardshop in your area, they might sell individual singles. That might be your best bet to get some.

That was the selling point of green for me also. It was the color I started with.

I'm still learning about blue myself. Blue involves a LOT of control and draw power. The counterspells make sure your opponent can't do anything. They also have a good bit of flying creatures - which green lacks (although green creatures do have reach).

Yep he's worth like $60!

Edit: Flame Dragon can I change the name of this thread from Unofficial to Official.

Yea, you can.

I have a question about Raging Ravine. It turns it's self into a monster for a turn, but goes back to being a land at the end of the turn. What's the point if it gets summoning sickness?

I don't think it does. You don't summon it, it becomes a creature. The way I see it, it's already in play so it goes around summoning sickness, the same holding true for any manland. Haven't checked the rules, I'm answering on intuition.

On a side note, Eldrazi Ramp rarely works but is so much fun to play.

Your right. I checked the wiki and it said that since it was on the field for the turn it doesn't get summoning sickness. If I used the effect the turn it was played then it would have it.

I'd like to get some feedback (or advice) on a deck I've been working on for a while. It's essentially a blue/black mill deck.

CREATURES (16)

4x Hedron Crab

4x Halimar Excavator

4x Jwari Shapeshifter

4x Umara Raptor

INSTANT/SORCERY (24)

4x Tome Scour

4x Spell Pierce

4x Memory Sluice

4x Mind Funeral

4x Counterspell

4x Glimpse the Unthinkable

LAND (20)

4x Watery Grave

4x Drowned Catacomb

2x Halimar Depths

2x Jwar Island Refuge

8x Island

Right now, I have an idea to take out the Umara Raptor for Agadeem Occultists - so I can take things out of their graveyard to add to my limited defenses. Also, I'm considering putting in Leyline of the Void in there to counteract the new Eldrazi monsters that shuffle the graveyard back into the library (and to make sure my opponent cannot recycle their resources).

Whatcha think?
