x3 post, but..Turn Four Posted!

 

 

[spoiler=Turn Four: A Slow Day]

"Congratulations again, Alex!" said Leon, obviously excited about seeing his new friend win a tough duel. "Yea, yea, thanks. I was lucky."

"Well, I'd like your like, Alex." Alex looked at him, and smiled. "I bet you would."

He then seemed to stop paying attention, and drifted off in thought. That voice, who was it? Why was it talking to him? It's offer of power, could it be true? All these things have been running through his head in the few short hours since the difficult duel he had against Noah. He was in a horrible spot, even being down to his last 100 life points. All hope for him was lost; he didn't know what he could do to save himself. His Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragons where all removed from play, and even is Dark Armed Dragon was not enough. He was out of options. At just that point, however, a dark voice proposed an offer to Alex. It showed him a small taste of that power. Sure, a small taste. So small, that with just this one new card, Alex won the duel. This power the voice offered, it was powerful enough to call what it gave him a "small taste". Could it be as powerful was it claims?

Leon looked board, waiting for Alex "So, are you going to drift off every time we talk? If that is the case, I want a divorce."

The comment derailed Alex's train of thought, and brought out a smile on his face. "I'm sorry, I was just thinking."

"Am I allowed to ask about what, exactly?"

"No."

"Well that was blunt. Oh well, I won't poke the lion. Anyway, I think I'm gonna hit the sack. Congratulations again, goodnight."

"Goodnight."

The two went their separate ways as Alex went for a walk outside. The sky was clear, colored brightly with the white shine of the stars. The full moon reflected magnificently off of the calm fountain water. The lamps on each side of the pavement shined with a light that caused a comfortable feeling to overcome Alex. A he continued to walk, he noticed a street lamp with a small, wooden bench under it. As he got closer, he began to make out the shape of a person sitting on it. Eventually, he was able to see who it was.

Feeling comfortable enough to talk, he spoke to the girl

"Calm night, huh?"

Startled, the girl quickly turned her head, and looked with a stunned look on her face, only for that emotion to subside soon after she saw Alex.

"Oh, uh, ya, pretty boring if you ask me." She turned her head back, looking straightforward

"I guess. You're that girl from before, aren't you? You beat that kid today, and had to be held back by the other girls."

"You have no game, do you?"

Alex looked on, un-amused.

"Sheesh, fine. Yes, I'm that girl. However, I do have a name. Jane Saga."

"Nice to meet you, miss Saga."

"I bet it is." Her arrogant answer didn't bother Alex much; he had seen her talk earlier. She seemed just be an arrogant person. She ran her pale skin through her long, brown hair, and smiled.

"It's always a great day for people to meet me..." Her expression quickly changed, and her tone seemed to be a little sadder.

"Something the matter?"

She immediately regained her composure, and turned with a bright smile. "Nothings wrong! Not that it's any of your business anyway. I'm going to leave now, have fun out here in the dark."

She got up, and walked toward the dark road to the Obelisk dorm.

"Well, that was strange."

Alex took over the spot Jane was sitting in, and looked up at the sky. The stars where will bright, and the Moon was still full, not a cloud in the sky. Suddenly, the light above the bench began to flicker. It startled Alex, who looked up for no apparent reason at the light. Soon, the light turned off all together. The sound of something breathing began to echo through the garden.

 

"Hello, little boy.."

"You again..?"

"Of course."

"Why wouldn’t it be? What do you want? Am I going to have to keep listening to you?"

"Only if you want to be powerful. Little boy...have you considered my offer?"

 

 

The next morning -

Isn't it strange how the weather can change from a clear, cloudless night, to a dark, gloomy, rainy day? That’s exactly what it's like. Nobody was outside. People where sleeping, working on their decks, or if they dared to brave the weather, dueling in the duel arena.

"You're actually going to run that?"

"Why shouldn’t I?"

"It's outclassed, and you know it. Here, run this!"

"I don't like it."

The small argument awoke Alex, who was sleeping nearby. He sits up, and rubs his eyes. "We all don't like you.." Everybody around him laughs, while the kid, of course, looks angry.

"Ah, the comedian is up!" Leon slaps the back of an obviously uncomfortable Alex. "About time. Ya know, I just head all these stories about this kid at the other Academy. He slept a lot too. That kid missed so many of his classes...Hey Jason! What was that kid's name again? Hayden? Braden? Ah, forget it. How'd ya sleep buddy?"

Alex blinked a bit, a little annoyed. "I didn't get much sleep, actually."

"Well, that sounds like a personal problem to me. So I was thinking, there's nothing to do today, why don't we go to the duel arena, and check out some gir-I mean, duels."

"A true gentleman."

 

A quick change of clothes, and a boring walk bring Alex and Leon to the duel arena. They have been there for a few minutes, but no duel, or girls for that matter, interested them, or more specifically, Leon. One duel in particular seemed to be going slower than others. A short, brown haired student, who seemed to be a Ra Yellow student, judging by the yellow jacket he was wearing, was dueling a taller, black haired student, with white dyed hair at the front. He was wearing a blue jacket, more than likely meaning he was an Obelisk student. A crowd of students surrounded them, all seeming to be laughing. As Alex and Leon made their way into the crowd, Noah spotted them.

"Alex! Hey, you gotta check this out!"

"Oh, hi Noah. What’s going on here?"

"This guy," he began, pointing toward the Obelisk student, "has not attacked once this duel. The other kid as been doing all the attacking, but every time he does, that guy has an answer. It's actually kind of funny, seeing that kid keep running into problems!"

"Oh really? I guess we should watch, right Leon?"

Alex nudged Leon, but it was too late, apparently, as they where walking through the crowd, he noticed a pretty girl. Even a punch to the face might not stop the drooling. Alex looked up at the screen above the stands. It showed that neither player had lost any life points, and where already eight turns in each. He laughed to himself, and nudges Noah.

"I guess, you're right, I gotta see this."

 

The Obelisk student eyes where focused on Alex.

"So...The superstar is here.."

He turned his gaze back to his opponent. "It's my turn."

He drew a card from his deck, and without emotion, and without comment, played a card face down.

"I end."

The Ra student drew a card, obviously agitated. "Sooner or later, you're gonna run out of defenses! Go, Colossal Fighter, attack!"

A gigantic, white armor covered warrior knelt down, and lowered its head. The light of the arena gleamed off of its green sunglasses, and blue orbs on its body. It quickly thrust forward, and brought back it's arm, ready to strike.

"No." The Obelisk student simply said. The card in front of him flipped up.

"I activate Waboku."

The crowd laughed again. Yet another turn ended without an attack.

"Fine. I end. Don't bore me this time."

"Alright. My turn."

The Obelisk student drew another card from his deck.

"I'll spice things up for you. I play Final Countdown. Simply put, by paying the large sum of 2000 life points, I can give you twenty of our combined turns to live. Once the timer hits 0, I win."

 

Obelisk Student's Life Points: 2000

 

The crowd exploded with laughter. Not at the Obelisk student, but nothing in particular. "He runs Countdown!? No wonder he's so defensive!"

Alex smiled, he had never seen a countdown deck in action, maybe this could be fun. Noah leaned toward Alex. "I told ya, you had to see this."

The Ra student looked shocked. "You're actually going to give me twenty turns?"

"Nineteen, actually."

"Fine, will that be all?"

"Not quite, I'll set another card, and end my turn."

"Alright, lets see what I get. I draw-"

"Eighteen."

"I know.."

"Also, I activate my face down, Frozen Soul. You don't have a battle phase this turn."

"Arrgh..Fine! I'll set a card, and end my turn!"

"I draw. Seventeen. I summon in attack mode."

A very small, plane like figure appeared. It had a propeller pushing it forward, and was carrying a large, metallic object.

"Is that what you're going to bring out? Tell me this is a joke! He has no attack points, my Colossal Fighter will wipe the floor with him, and end this duel!"

"It's your move."

"You asked for it, my-"

"Sixteen."

"Would you stop interrupting me!? I draw. Now, Colossal Fighter, wipe out his Gardna and end this duel!"

"No. I activate my Zero Gardna's effect. By tributing him, I take no damage this turn."

The plane dropped the metallic object, and exploded into a small shower of shards. The object slowly dissolved, creating a thick cloud of smoke. The white armored warrior attacked, but could not hit the Obelisk student.

"Ugh, fine, your move!"

"Fifteen. I draw." He thought for a moment, and then set a card. "Your move."

"I know, fourteen. I draw."

"Now that it's your standby phase, I'll activate my face down, Thunder of Ruler. Again, you have no battle phase."

"Really!? Fine, go!"

"Thirteen." He drew a card, and set another.

"Your move."

"Fine, and yes, I know, twelve."

"We're already past the teens. Hurry up."

"Stop teasing me! Ugh, I draw..ha! I activate Mystical Space Typhoon! Destroy your face down!"

"I'll chain, and activate Threatening Roar. You cannot attack this turn."

"You have got to be...Go!"

"Eleven." He drew again, and again, set a card face down. "Your move."

"Ugh...Ten...I draw."

"I'll activate another Frozen Soul. Try again later."

"Sooner or later! I end"

"Nine. We're almost done here." He drew a card. "I set a monster face down, go ahead."

"Ugh..Eight turns left..Fighter, attack his monster!"

The warrior rushed at the spot, and punched down. This time, the attack was successful. The monster it was attacking appeared. A marshmallow like figured appeared, and absorbed the attack. It morphed its shape from the blow, but was not destroyed.

"I'm sorry, you attacked Marshmallon. Not only can he not be destroyed by battle, but also regrettably, you lose 1000 life points. I really wish I didn't have to do that..."

 

Ra Student's Life Points: 3000

 

"Fine. Your move..."

"Seven. I draw, and play Messenger of Peace. Now, at the cost of 100 life points during each of my turns, all monsters with 1500 attack or more cannot declare an attack. I end."

"Six turns left..and I can't attack..Nothing I can do this turn..I end."

"Five. I draw."

 

Obelisk Student's Life Points: 1900

 

"I'll set another card face down. Good luck."

"Ugh, fine. Four..I draw. I..I can't do anything..Go.."

All hope seemed to escape the Ra student as the crowd watched in amazement. This guy has completely shut his opponent down, and is just going to sit and wait for the turns to end.

"Fine. Three. I'll just end."

 

Obelisk Student's Life Points: 1800

 

"Two..This is my last turn..I draw...not bad! I activate Heavy Storm! Get rid of all the spells and traps here!

"..Just in case you try to do anything to my monster, I'll chain Rainbow Life. Good game.

The student looked utterly defeated, this duel was over, and there was nothing he could do about it.

"...I..I...I end.."

"One. I draw.

 

Obelisk Student's Life Points: 1700

 

"I end. Zero."

 

 

The crowd cheered, the total shutdown of an opponent's offense, and a victory without a single attack, they had not seen that very often.

 

After many congratulations, and high fives from his apparent friends, the Obelisk student eventually made his way to Alex.

"Hey, good duel there man."

"It was nothing, really. I hear you’re a superstar around here."

"Oh..Really? Can't say I deserve to be."

"I'm not too sure either. I actually never saw you duel. Maybe we'll face each other some time soon."

"Sure, that sounds like fun."

"By the way, my name is Shang Noon. What is yours?"

"Oh, nice to meet you, my name is Alex Davis."

"Nice to meet you Alex."

Shang looked at his watch, and then back at Alex. "I have to go, I'm sorry. I'll talk to you again soon, I'm sure."

 

Nothing much happened after that. No interesting duels, aside from the laughter one got when a student used the card Shapesnatch, and the even greater laughter when that student won with an attack with it. As if it really matters to know, Leon, as expected, struck out with the ladies. Never one to give up, he told continually told Alex "There are plenty more fish in the sea!". Poor boy. Before they knew it, the day was over, and it was time to get some sleep. Leon said goodnight to the ladies, and Alex simply went to bed. As more and more people began to sleep, it got more quiet. Soon, the only sound was that of the sea outside. It was actually quite calm.

 

"Little boy..."

Nobleman of Crossout only works like that on Flip Effect monsters...

 

I reserve the right to make a card do anything I want' date=' for in this fan fic, I am Konami XD

Thanks everyone I actually designed Shang to have 7 decks depending on what kind of person hes facing. Final Countdown is his Neutral/Friend deck and serves him for his casual and friendly duels. After talking to Yank Ive pretty much decided to write an spin off fan fic delving into this further

Alright, hate to double-post, but, simply put, I loved it. The linking to the cards was a fantastic idea, especially... my only complaints were some goofy spellings (you spelled "Obelisk" correctly twice, but spelled it "Obolesk" or something similar twice, too) and some incey-wincey grammatical mistakes. Other than those little hiccups, though, well done
