Eibon1307
A friend and I got in the debate over Gemini monsters. He said that no matter the Level, all Gemini monsters can be summoned without tribute. I said that was wrong. That unless it was sent to the graveyard you have to tribute the monster. A Phoenix Gearfreid needs a tribute to be summoned and then you can "Gemini Summon" him to gain his effect. I looked it up on two forums and on one found both sides of the story being told to me. On the other Yu-Gi-Oh Wikia, I read a very unclear ideal of Gemini's and when questioning the Admin, was told that what was put there on the site was what was told to them by Konami. In short, No one that I have asked truly knows for sure (And are either new to the game or havnt really used Gemini's much and just go off the shows) Any help will be greatful. Aesirson
Geminis needs Tributes when summoned (if they're Level 5+), but when they're Gemini Summoned they don't need any Tributes.
Archelaus
They need to be Level 5 or higher Tribute Summoned then Gemini Summoned next turn. But no tributes are needed when Second Summoning.
Sephiroth_The_Legend
they're still normal monsters.meaning they need tributes.alsoq&a thread. then you can normal summon him again in order to make him an effect monster.

b0b3rt
Sephiroth has it down...http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Gemini Basically.. tribute(s) needed for original summon, not needed for second summon.
DARKPLANT RISING
Simply put, think of it as "Putting a Gemini Monster's effect into focus disables you from normal summoning in the turn. Also, bottomless and others can stop it and destroy it."
Aximil
Let's take Phoenix Gearfried as our example. Assuming he wasn't special summoned, it will take 2 monsters to summon him. You summoned this turn so we'll do whatever else for our turn and then pass it over to our opponent. (S)he does his/her plays and passes the turn back to us. We can turn him into an effect monster now by Gemini Summoning him. But since he's already out, we won't need to Tribute again. Keep in mind that it's EXACTLY like a Normal Summon, meaning it can be stopped with cards like Bottemless Trap Hole and Trap Hole and even negated by cards like Solemn Judgement. Jeremyt_2009
The thing I'm wondering about gemini monsters is if skill drain was active and you summon a gemini monster, are they still treated as normal monsters or would it be negated with the gemini summoning? Aximil
Pretty sure they would revert back to Vanillas and have to be Gemini Summoned again.
-Griffin
With Skill Drain, they're treated as Effect Monsters, but cannot activate any effects, as they are negated.
Jeremyt_2009
so they would still be treated as normal monsters when they hit the field even though skill drain is out?
Eibon1307
I gotta ask a non gemini Q. I have a card called Heart of Clear Water. It's effect states that if it is equiped to a card with over 1300 (I think it's 1300.) then the card is destroyed. any card it's equiped to cannot be destroyed by battle but damage calculation still applies. If I equiped it to a Monster such as The Hunter With 7 Weapons which has 1000 atk but the effect that you call out a monster type. (I.E. Zombie, Warrior, Fiend, Etc.) When the Monster type called is attacked by or does battle with The Hunter With 7 Weapons, The Hunter With 7 Weapons gains an extra 1000 atk. Will the Heart of Clear Water get destroyed when that effect applies???

Guest PikaPerson01
On the other Yu-Gi-Oh Wikia' date='[/quote'] Wait wait wait... there's more then one yugioh wiki? o_0
Eibon1307
On the other Yu-Gi-Oh Wikia' date='[/quote'] Wait wait wait... there's more then one yugioh wiki? o_0 Lol. Sorry. Punctuation error. It's meant to be "On the other, Yu-Gi-Oh Wikia," Meaning the other site i looked at was Yu-Gi-Oh Wikia.Yes. Alright. That means then that it couldn't be equiped to Mucus Yolk for more than three turns because Mucus Yolk has the effect that each time it attacks your opponents Lifepoints it gains 1000 atk.
