"Oh thats sad whats for dinner" Girl killed in accident, more on the story later. "OMG THAT IS SO SAD THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!!" ...My point is, WTF is wrong with people and their inability to sympathize properly? -Berserker-
It's only like that since we have news reports, or newspapers, or since whenever we are getting things like that everyday and we can't pay that much attention to each case... Skuldur
If we don't know the people who died, then it doesn't matter to us. It's still sad.

Skuldur
Yeah, and that's why I'm not sad about it. It's sad for the people who know her but they can't expect us to be sad. =/
Marisa Kirisame-ze
Lack of care, lack of empathy, lack of heart, lack of motive to sympathize. Who knows. But I sympathize over the things I can empathize over. I don't know why I'm like that, but since I've never been in a war, I can't possibly understand their pain. Although, I do respect soldiers, I just don't sympathize with them. Then on the other hand, that girl could've been my friend for all I know. So that could effect me more than a soldier dying. Tempest Dahlia
They can't have a lack of sympathy if... ... OK, listen to me. l said, if one person hardly cares if thousands of soldiers they don't know die, yet are outraged when a little girl they don't know dies. l want to know why is one unknown soul more important than thousands of unknown, more important souls. Aesirson
If thousands of soldiers dies, the news is unlikely to show a picture. If a single girl dies by accident, the newspaper is more likely to show a picture of the girl. If we see the victim, we are more likely to sympathize over his/her death, because we know the victim better, somehow. That's my point of view, at least.
