Miniature catapult blueprints

Basically i am making a mini catapult for science class out off items i can find in an average home. I decided that i am going to have a spoon as the marsh mellow holder(P.s. we are launching jumbo marsh mellows). I am going to hot glue about five springs to the back part of the spoon and use a pencil as the fulcrum. then all i have to do is place down the spoon and the catapult should go, with a paper clip attached to the spoon handle to keep it from over launching and failing epically. Here is a rough draft i made in paint.

there is no math in the blueprints but i just want to know if you think it will work.

ok, paperclip= not a good sucsess chance

also

you need to hold the spoon at a right angle and measure the tip of the spoon and the edge of teh box. then cut a string 2 inches longer. tie the string to teh box and end of spoon so when you fire the spoon will stop and not end up just carrying the marshmallow

i just wanted to see if the catapult would work not if the the thread was useless. but thanks for the recomendations other people that aren't trolling.
